So often the "safe" move is the worst move since it generally allows the opponent to do what he wants. Losing the initiative is rarely "safe.l

One point is Black’s pawn on h3 creates a bank rank weakness (and weakens g2 & the diagonal in White’s position. This eventually came home to roast. Good video on winning vs drawing mindset!

I never offer a draw. I never accept a draw. I expect to learn by playing. The more I play to win, the more I learn. I don't rematch players. I've improved on the journey.

Good luck in your journey towards the GM title, but do not forget the most important thing, which is to enjoy all the small turns in your journey, because there you will find the most important thing that you seek.

I'm only 1200 but I understood that losing that Pawn on E4 really was a very negative changing POINT 😭😭 It happens almost every game to me that I leave something undefended .. and at your level EVEN losing a single PAWN makes a such huge difference 😲😳😱

To waste won games is my speciality. Yesterday I had an advantage -playing a chess engine- that was evaluated a 33K + for me, but then I played so badly I was compelled to offer a draw not to lose, which the friendly machine accepted. GGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
