Since I’m unable to work within my vocation, while no longer able to compete in road cycling and racquet sports, detailing provides the physical therapy of eye / hand / balance coordination I’ve needed to stay healthy physically and emotionally. Retired Peace Officer here as well. I grew up around cars, and my Father was a car fanatic so the groundwork for my obsession with cars began quite young. While working in Law Enforcement, it definitely helped keep your mind busy to work on the cars, detailing,, modifiying and whatnot. I must admit, I spent A LOT of time in the garage and not as much time with my family. Yes my cars looked perfect, but my marriage wasn't and I ended up getting divorced after 10 yrs and had 2 kids. That was very tough. Over the years, there has been SO MANY PRODUCTS and SO MANY OPINIONS on what to use and how to use it. For me? I am always willing to learn, I have learned some new things here, I relate closer to Yvan probably due to our age, we are of a similar age and life experience. There are more than one way to do things, but as I am getting older, I want to work smarter not harder. Being in my 50's living in an EXTREMELY HOT climate where my garage can get into the 120's while detailing the cars isn't as much fun as it used to be, throw in a knee injury, shoulder injury and a back injury that cut my career short (23 yrs) I just want to keep things as simple as possible. I do appreciate the approach you guys have, and your products I have yet to try them (don't want to waste the products I already have) I do find the approach to detailing that you guys have a nice change to a very confusing and at times cut throat business. I have never done this stuff as a job, but have done detailing for decades on my own not just my own cars but friends and family. I just never charged them. I just enjoyed the process. Keep up the good work. 👍

I'm glad you said what you said Yvan, because my 15 year old Focus has had evil things done to it over the years, not by my hand, but from horrible people, and even though i take good care of it, i know her paint will never be perfect, she has key marks on the trunk lid, and scratches on the hood, a dent from a shopping cart someone did 3 months brand new, i wash and apply sealant to it every 12 months to try to protect it the best i can, she sits out 24/7 in direct sun in my driveway because i don't have a garage. I don't own a polisher, as i don't think these key marks will ever be improved, they seem so deep. I do own a black and decker hand sander but i don't know if i'm confident enough to do anything as far as polishing. C6 APP, I have heard other detailers say not to use products that "swell" the paint. Is C6 safe for all types and ages of paint? Is there a situation aside from C6 pro coatings that you would say lets just use the panel prep here instead of the C6 APP?

There are products that swell and fill, C6 Ceramics Adhesion Promoter Polish (APP) opens the pores and makes it more receptive to coating. C6 Ceramics are safe for all paints and coatings.
