You were someone that i followed since one of your first videos and subscribed to you on yotsuya san ni yoroshiku and i must say that you have come a long way, i started to play keyboard and dropped it back twice and i want to start it again this time without dropping after seeing you grow this much you kind of inspire me but i am scared to drop it again, i want to see and buy a new keyboard with keys that actually has at least a bit of sensitivity like those of pianos but they are not cheap and i am not sure if i should buy it or go with the old keyboard that i use, what do you think i should do? Also i can't afford to have a teacher is there any instructing or etude books you can suggest? ps: My skills currently include being able to play tunes with right or left hand but not both at the same time and i pretty much forgot how to read music

Hey, thank you so much for sticking around all this time, and I'm really glad you like my videos! I think it's cool that you've been inspired to play piano - just how I was with pianists like marasy and Animenz! I would definitely encourage you to stick with it, just keeping up a bit of practice with the songs you like. I personally can't advise on a keyboard since I haven't owned one - it would depend on your situation, and if your current one is still fine? Perhaps some other KZbinrs could help you out there ^^ With reading sheet music, it's always possible to re-learn reading notes (internet guides), and then it's practice to get used to reading. I've only been taking lessons for the past year or so I don't have exercises or books on hand - scales and arpeggios can be good, and practice existing pieces slowly to strengthen each finger. Hands separately to start is good, and once you've built up confidence then try hands together, maybe. Learning music can take a while to train, but if you stick with it over time I'm sure you can definitely keep improving, and see where it takes you!

banB hey i’m not a professional or anything but i think i can help! first of all, i’d highly recommend buying some finger technic exercise books (Hanon or Czerny) they help a LOT when trying to play long difficult pieces. it makes sure your endurance is very high and you have a strong 4th and 5th finger (since they are naturally weak). second, i HIGHLY recommend buying a weighted keyboard if you want to play piano. if you play a non weighted keyboard and then try to play a real piano, excuse my language but, you’re playing will sound like shit and it will be the hardest thing in the world for you. a few range from $200 to even over $5000 USD. but they are for the best and you really should. and lastly, for playing sons, you may have heard this but play melody in your right hand so much to the point that you can play it with your eyes closed (not literally but you get the point). same for the left hand. then after very slowly put them together. a tip that helps a lot is look for notes in the right and left hand that are played at the same time. for example, if i’m playing an arpeggio in my left hand and a melody in my right hand. try to look for notes that go together. that helps me a lot. i hope this helped you a tiny bit and i wish you luck in your future!
