I'm 13 years old and I've decided to go back old school. I went natural in 2018 and since then I was following all the natural hair gurus telling me to do this, do that, and all other kinds of stuff on my hair. It didn't work. All I got out of it was dry and very brittle hair. I was also loosing my edges! A week ago I found some blue magic hair grease in my moms bathroom. I decided to use the grease for protective styling. I washed my hair twice with shampoo, deep conditioned with natural aloe vera gel (from my backyard), and sprayed my hair with aloe juice braided it and sealed it with grease. I left my braids in for two weeks. Midweek I would be spraying my hair with aloe juice and re-braiding a few things if I had to. By the end of two weeks my hair was soo sofft! Omg, I cant describe how sooofft my hair was. My edges got a little thicker too! I don't know why I thought grease was so bad. All these watery products I was using didn't work for my hair.(I have 4c hair). I don't know if this is a bad thing but when I took my hair out of my braids it was very stretched. Usually when I used those watery leave in conditioners my hair didn't really stretch out as much. So basically what I'm trying to say is grease isn't bad at all. Its a perfect sealant and from my experience it helps stretch your hair out lol. wElp that's all I've got to say.

Annasthesia as stated above, trim your ends and use hair grease. Blue magic has different types. I use Blue Magic hairfood because it helps with breakage and dry brittle hair. Your hair might be dry so you should try doing a hot oil treatment for 1-8hours, then shampoo and use conditioner, finish up with deep conditioner. When my hair dries up, it tangles up no matter how much conditioner or detangler I use. So I know my hair likes to be stretched. I can’t cornrow so I just do little plaits all over my hair using water, detangler, and Blue Magic Hairfood and leave it that way until it dries or leave them like that and put on a wig. I just started using grease and I noticed that hair feels way more moisturized and my scalp doesn’t itch as much because it isn’t dry. I have scalp psoriasis so I use a really harsh shampoo to help my scalp without it, I have extremely embarrassing scalp issues.

I was going through the same problems with having some hair that is shorter and some hair that is longer in length there is a number of reasons this is happening first thing is you need to start detangling in smaller sections you probably need to switch out your conditioner maybe it doesn’t have enough slip you probably need to use a silicone free conditioner , I really like the love beauty and planet one with turmeric another reason is you may have a vitamin D deficiency or be low iron these things are very common in women of color, another thing is you might have some very low porosity areas in your hair, and maybe start washing your hair in hot water and applying your leave in conditioner soon after you rinse out your conditioner with hot water, and one other thing that I suggest is low porosity hair does not need a lot of product you probably need to decrease the amount of product that you’re using a , leave in conditioner and oil ,a leave in conditioner and hair grease ,a leave in conditioner and hair cream don’t have too many steps in your styling process because you could be weighing your hair down which can then cause your hair to be a lot harder to detangle because there’s so much product in your hair. A few months back I took a look at my hair routine because I was tired of having a short piece in the back of my head and I made these changes and my hair has flourished.
@eryleigh84764 жыл бұрын
Another thing that Zara also mentioned in the video is that you might want to start detangling your hair little bit more frequently to cut back on tangles

I was my hair whenever it's itchy it could be a few days, a week, to two. I always seal my hair with my homemade whipped Shea better, which'll definitely keep my hair moisturize for a week. After it stops working I put grease on my hair to moisturize it, until my next wash day. Plus, my wash day is super quick, it only takes an hour and a half. Cause I don't keep my deep conditioner for hours only 20 mins, plus my twists are now super easy.
@neoagegirlthemaverick74684 жыл бұрын
The detangling advice was 100% true! Detangle however is best for you, I was detangling my natural hair wet b/c of the trend in the natural hair community and my hair would always mate up, get tangles, and break. My hair is mostly 4c and low porosity, my hair density is thick but the strands themselves are thin and fragile, so detangling my hair dry (with some type of slip/coating product/item) before I shampoo has helped me cut down the pain, time, and breakage. I never detangle wet as my first method of detangling anymore, if I do detangle in the shower it is after I have detangled dry first then shampoo. Then in the condition/deep condition step I might lightly detangle again if I feel like I missed some spots or it just needs extra attention and always with a tangle tweezer , don't have time for fingers, and the wide tooth comb leaves too many spots untouched, and obviously a normal comb would just tugged at my hair lol

Stay away from 2 much products with protein. Low porosity hair doesn't always need it. Trim ends at least twice a year. Shampoo twice a month. Condition like u have gone crazy. And use hair grease. Best sealant oils are olive oil coconut oil and argan oil. Use wide tooth combs and buy a detangler conditioner that should help with knots. If your hair is knotting up though might be time for a trim sis. 💚💙

You are really making me stop, pause the video and think *detailed* about my hair. Not sure why no one else has had that effect in spite cautionings and advisement, etc. My hair grows and retains well, and it has been- but no one has really made me stop running forward and think about things with my hair very critically. Like why do I see breakage sometimes? The hair has always grown well and since caring for it on my own, then going natural, 4C bra strap length now, in spite of "random" breakages, 2x postpartum shedding, occasional dryness-ish, the hair is pretty resilient, Glory be to Jesus. But still I usually just keep on going trying to find what helps me for where I am. But never really having the information to help me really investigate my hair- because I want this breakage and occasional dryness to really be done with. I want more length retention and more thickness retention-granted I'm pregnant with child 3 lol but still during and afterwards- I thank God for letting me find these vids, as many as I've seen for the past 12 years lol. Thank you for your due diligence because I need to stop and think about this once and for all and make real changes. You are helping me girl!

My hair is very fine but has areas of extreme dryness and brittleness do to damage my hair suffered when my mother tried putting a gheri-curl in my hair when I was 4 years old!! So I have damage that has never fully recovered!! Can it be rejuvenated??? You have given me hope. Where should I start with undoing this kind of damage?? Thank you for your help!

Do you have high or low porosity hair? The feeling of your hair feeling greasy means that your hair shaft needs a cleanse. If your hair doesn’t retain moisture, you might have high porosity hair. High porosity hair needs to be moisturized more often and would be HIGHLY beneficial to seal with a heavier oil such as coconut, olive, or JBC (Jamaican Black Castor). Use water or deep conditioner and dependent on your preference, use one the heavier oils listed above (or research more as there are a multitude of options) or opt for grease. Grease is an AMAZING sealent, especially for high porosity hair. Hope some of these tips aided you.

Please help. I have three daughters and I'm trying to grow all of our hair and keep it healthy. My hair is thin, my oldest is natural but it's not healthy, my middle has the thickest hair I've ever seen but she cuts it's wen taking braids out and my baby girl has what we used to refer to as grease and water hair. I need something I can do across the board cuz I can't keep up with too much. We need moisture so we can grow our hair out.....Help!

I just converted to salon natural products as they’re better for my hair and they also have amla/skikaiki In them. So I feel these elements are helping. I noticed less shedding.

No, I am not going to have my hair dyed all those colors. I think my hair will be light sliver and black gleaming in the moonlighting and a twinkling of lights in the morning light.

I’ve been natural for about a year and a half and my issue is dry hair and length retention and possibly a poor curl pattern .. recently found out I have Low Porosity Hair and I am yet to come across a specific set of products that I feel work.. so I stay on youtube trying to find an answer, especially a routine or leave in conditioner. My hair styling routine especially has been an issue, because my hair tends to have the products sitting on it (white) and would just feel heavy after, and the only gel that has held I feel causes damage ( xtreme gel)

Her products that she recommends are a good way to start. I have 4b low porosity hair. Low porosity hair needs lighter products and a combination of heat to penetrate our cuticles and to coat the hair shaft. Try using a light oil such as Carrot, Avocado, and or Almond oil for oil treatments and a detangling method. Additionally, in regards to deep conditioners to try for low porosity, my favorite has been Shea Moisture’s Deep Conditioner from the Black Castor Oil line. I religiously wear knotless braids for two months so I use Castor oil; it’s a heavier oil for low porosity hair but I do cleanse my scalp every other week with a shampoo and water based solution. Hope this helped a bit!
