I used to work as a .net developer for 2 years. (well mainly supported some applications and developed few small projects) Now after a break of 1 year, I'm doing my Master Degree in software engineering. Now, I am not sure to start again .net and I'm getting a mix feeling after watching your videos. Should I go for .net again..? Or should I start my career in Java and Spring Boot?

@@devanshnegi2275 I'd do whatever language you are using in your masters to start with.

Hello, Thank you for the insightful video. I have a finance background, and I'm a total beginner in programming. I want to learn programming to build my own products, not for the job market. After weeks of research, I concluded that I will start with HTML/CSS and vanilla JavaScript, with C# and possibly React or Vue depending on my progress. For the backend, I initially considered Django but changed my mind due to concerns about scalability and the future. I believe .NET is the best suited for a large-scale SaaS application. Since I'm a total beginner, I plan to dive directly into .NET 8. After reading the books you recommended, I'm a bit confused about .NET or .NET MVC,i logged into .NET website and i only found .NET8 the latest version . I'm willing to invest the necessary time to learn. What do you suggest?

@@userfriendlyi7067 MVC is just a pattern. You can use MVC with .NET. 8 but people will call it dated. In my experience you can't really go wrong with a React front end SPA and a .NET 8 API backend.

Great video Ed. What does a senior developer need to do and what do they need to know to get to the next level e.g. principal engineer, staff engineer. (this is most definitely not a self-serving question)

Greetings from Mexico, Andersen! I am loving your content. What would you recommend to someone without college credentials to land a job nowadays? My very first job experience was developing and supporting Windows Forms ERP applications (nothing complex, no design patterns, only Azure SQL Server, Crystal Reports, < 4.5 Framework), that went for about 3 years. How can I go forward from here?

Hello! Junior jobs are going to be cooked for the next few years I think. You can self teach everything online. Choose a dev framework you like and build some apps. Get some apps built and sort a portfolio out ready for the market to turn again.

Hi, great content! My question: will AI replace developers in a near future? Whats your thoghts? Should a young guy that start learning today, worry about that? Thanks.

I think it will become like doctors - you'll need to train for ages before you are good enough to make money, with all low hanging fruit being taken by the AI. But I'm still forming my thoughts on this.

Is it worth to learn .NET in 2024 against Spring Framework? I'm confused as a Jr. Developer. Many big companies using Spring Framework so which framework I should choose for my career? Any suggestions?

.NET vs Java I'd try both and see which one you like better then stick with it for a couple of years

The grad job market is cooked at the moment and I'm sorry you are experiencing this. As well as blind job applications I would work on your network. Get yourself to meetups and events and try to make friends who are already working.
