Christmas is more of a sacular holiday, there are a lot hardcore Christians whose despise Santa Claus as they seem like a rival to Christ. I am a Buddhist, who celebrate Christmas. My family is non-religious, but still blasphemy in their eyes if someone don't get a tree.

Even if you convert to a new faith or just become atheist, the fact that you're from a culturally Christian background is so dominant that you secularize religious celebrations because they're so important to your cultural heritage.
