My first instinct was also a6, g5 to limit Black's bad bishop. But yeah... if your opponent has passive undeveloped pieces you'll want to open either the center or files for your rooks. So a6 makes a lot of sense! My intuition is getting better but...

Rob, can you comment on the validity of my candidate move (line) in this situation... cxd4 and whichever way they recapture i have d5 to cement my knight and I'll be looking to activate a rook to the d file.
