I've had my mClassic for three years & just bought the 4K Gamer Pro a couple days ago. I originally wasn't gonna buy the 4K Gamer Pro due to its high price, but just went for it after lots of research & I really like what I see so far. My Switch looked good enough with just the mClassic alone on my 55" Sony Bravia 950G 4K TV, but now the picture is noticeably sharper & clearer with no input lag at all.

Hey man, kudos for such a great video! I just got the same setup a few days ago and the image quality of both devices combined is AWESOME! Only one correction: 4KGP will not force the mClassic to 1080p. It will take whatever is on the EDID of the TV and send it right away to the mClassic. First time I hooked them in daisy chain I was receiving 1440p (my TV native resolution) which meant 4KGP was just idling. Then I got a 1080p EDID simulator and hooked it between the mClassic and the 4KGP and voilá! Beautiful 4K with AA all the way from 480p.

@@aiolos8540 Nope. You need to have the 1080p version on EDID so that 4KGP upscales to 4K

Thanks to Jorge Savala in the comments of this video for correcting me on something important. "The 4KGP will not force the mClassic to 1080p. Hi Sydney great video I have an LG C2 OLED 77”, I recently ordered a switch, and have been watching a ton of videos on these two products, I ended up ordering them both as well, my question is how does the 4k gamer pro upscaling compare to your LG C1’s internal upscaling on the Nintendo switch specifically. Reason I ask is because we both have similar TV sets.

mClassic team knew what they were doing with saturation, the saturation on stock console looks bleached out and dull.

Is it still worth buying the 4k upscaler if tv already getting a 1440p signal from the mclassic (edit emulator, 4k native tv) ?. I am aware that a 1080p signal is critical for the 4k upscaler thing.

Hey Mate! What resolution do you set up on PS3 and Nintendo Switch/Wii ? 720p or 1080p?

Thank you for your question! I setup the PS3 in 1080p, though technically I've heard from other people that the mClassic does a better job of upscaling than the PS3 does I still usually set it to 1080p. The Nintendo Switch I also set too 1080p when possible BUT there are plenty of games on that system that only support 720p and that's where the mClassic shines. The mClassic is great for upscaling games to either 1080p or 1440p depending on if your display supports the resolutions. This would also apply to the Nintendo Wii, generally my rule is use either 720p or 1080 when available, the later being my preferred option. If you're only using the 4K Gamer Pro your only option is 1080p because it will only work with a 1080p signal. I hope that answers your questions. So I have both of these and I've tried to capture gameplay on my Switch using my Elgato 4k60 S+ and the final footage was just unusable. Either the colours are totally blown out, or the screen is mostly grey, or I can't even open the file. I don't think it's the capture card because I tried it with my PS5 and it works fine. Is there some setting I need to change on my Switch? Any help would be greatly appreciated ☺

My only suspicion is that you possibly have HDR enabled? Whenever I had that and the monitor or the cpature card didn't support HDR pass through it will desaturate the colors. I use the 4k Gamer capture card by Aver media and from what I know its one of only 3 capture cards that support HDR pass through and will also turn that HDR to SDR for video streaming. Make sure all HDMI connections in your chain are connected tightly, a loose connection could cause issues.

Is your setup in reverse? So like make sure you have the mClassic then the 4K Gamer Pro. Not the other way around. Hope this helps and thank you so much for watching my video.

I’m still a little confused on what I need to buy. I’m running my switch on a LGCX. Would I need to buy anything more than the mclassic and 4k gamer pro for everything to work? I see some people mentioning an edid and wondering if that applies to my TV. Would an mcable and 4k gamer pro also work?

I have lgcx oled and daisychained them both like in the video and it works just fine on my switch . The mclassic isn't worth alone, but the 4kgamer will be smoothed out by the mclassic. The only problem I've got so far, is that my screen sometimes gets black for 1 to 2 seconds for some reason. Idk why this happens and I am searching for a solution

I can't get this combination to work with my OG Xbox using the chimeric cables, the chimeric cables make the resolution 480p, the mclassic bumps it up to 1080p so it should work. But the wierd thing is ...I can use the 4K gamer pro with chimeric cables witch outputs 480p resolution

the Photofast 4k Gamer Pro (and 4k gamer +) only upscales 1080p to 4k, if it is given a signal that isn't 1080p it'll just pass the signal through without any upscaling so yor screen might just be getting a 480p image.

@@WednesdayMan so I was able to get it to work with games of resolutions of 720p and higher on the OG Xbox, but for games 480p the screen would be black, what makes it even more strange for GameCube, it will work on all 480p games and upscale it to 4K. So my only conclusion is it either is giving me a false resolution response or the chimeric cables are the problem

To get best visual benefit should i connect m classic then the 4k pro oe the other way around. I tried testing it and honestly cant really find a difference so i assume it doesnt matter

honestly the 4k gamer pro seems kind of like a joke.. If you already have a relatively recent mid to high end Sony, Samsung or LG TV than you can probably achieve the exact same upscaling/sharpening quality by messing with your settings.. the mclassic is different since it adds post processing aa

@@SydneySE_ actually I was wrong. The 4k gamer pros upscaling and sharpening performs like an older 4k tv with the sharpness setting dialed up. Modern tvs will actually do better job than it

i’m also only getting 1440p and i have everything properly ordered and powered on. my samsung TU8000 is saying the resolution is 2560x1440 /60p. i know everything is working properly, can you help me troubleshoot? it goes nintendo switch>hdmi extender>mclassic>hdmi extender>4kgp>hdmi 2.0>tv

Basically but the only thing is I don't plug in my 4KGP directly into my mClassic, I put a extender in between. Everything else is correct. There are no setting for the mClassic though just make sure you have it on the right 16:9 video mode is all. Thank you so much for watching my video hope this helps.

Can i ask some questions? I want to buy 4k gamer pro to use with ps3 and any retro console. My concern is this device use perfectly in ps3 alone? Like 720p for some game. If its not, do you have solution? Like force all of ps3 games to 1080p Thanks for answer

I don't think there is a way to force all PS3 games to run at 1080p, you'd need some sort of upscaler to get the image to 1080p in some way, like the mclassic for example, for retro consoles you'd have to find an upscaler that upscales to 1080p anything less and you'd also have to upscale the image to 1080p.
