I learned about personal conveyance the hard way, during a level 3 inspection. He didn’t ding me on it because my authority was under 30 days new and cut me some slack. I was headed home 120 miles using it. I honestly didn’t understand when and how to use it at the time. I understand now😂😂😂

I operate locally within 200 miles and don't go outside of my home state so I changed to Intrastate based on their recommendations in the new entrant email and did not have to do the new entry Audit.

@@jeffreybarrett8898 I'm not sure what you're asking but if you operate within your home state where your business is based out of and where you park your truck you can change to "Intrastate" verses interstate where you cross state lines. Being Intrastate will not require the new entry Audit from the FMCSA. You're still required to do everything else as far as insurance, ELD and generally everything that goes into having an authority but your just showing that you don't go outside of your state. I believe it can lower your insurance premium a bit aswell depending on who your insurance provider is.

Question: Do you know if this safety audit also done with leasing a truck ? And does a box truck need to stop at weigh stations / I thought No due to being Under Weight. Only ( semi or hotshots) However I’m aware that DOT can pull you over to check for certain things such as Your Safety Equipment. ( in some states winter snow ❄️ chains for tires )

Are you referring to the annual inspection? If so you can go to a Loves, Pilot shop or most commercial trucking companies to get the annual inspection done. But the safety audit is done by the FMCSA reps.
