Thank you. I have to unlearn the way my mind catalogues everything in boxes. I must remember I am Atman and so is everything else.

Amazing Jason.....appreciate your work and keep all of us up to date on this. The amazing things about these teachings are that this is not restricted by skin color, race, religious affiliation, nationality, tribe or any man-made superficial differences. Jai ho, Jai Shree Ram, Hare Krishna.

Jason your words are so Pure and coming from a deeper place. It’s so powerful yet the very essence of all is so subtle to grasp. I had to leave everything I was doing and listen to it twice to stay with the flow of your words. Thank you so much for everything you do. ❤

Thank you Jason, for the commentary on the verse from Avaduta Gita. There is an analogy that might be useful for better comprehension of jiva and atma. Lets take white light beam and a glass prism. This white beam is "alive" consciousness; the glass prism is inert "jada". When the light beam passes through the prism, the prism experiences aliveness and also perceives the colors in the visible spectrum of Violet, Indigo, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, Red and does not perceive though present Ultra Violet and Infrared. Owing to the separation of the visible and invisible spectrum in the refracted ray, when the alive prism pays attention towards the refracted ray, it experiences jiva. The same alive prism when it pays attention to the incident beam of ray experiences atman. When the light present in the prism focuses on the aspects of refraction the jiva identifies with the name and form of the prism and experiences samsara (the ups and downs of life). When the light present in the prism focuses on the source of the prism illumination; the light that illumines the senses, the mind; giving the first person experience of life; there is no longer samsara, there is only an integrated awareness and stillness; jivan mukta. It might be a good idea to view the human being(mind is also considered as a subtle body) as a prism through which the light of consciousness passes through. With evolution/sadana, grace of the consciousness the unseen light of ultraviolet and infrared molds the human being to turn towards the incident light. This frees the jiva from the samsara; while being alive in the prism of the human body. Wishing all of us a union in the consciousness!

The word "primordial" (before you, me, every 'thing') helps me understand this concept. Hope that makes sense. Many thanks Jason 🙏👍

Thank you! This helped me understand the meanings of Atman, Brahman, and Jiva better. I am still curious the distinction between Atman and Brahman, though. Is Atman the one consciousnesses and Brahman is the reality experienced by the one consciousness? Thank you!

We are like twigs on a tree all trying to grow blossom and fruit and out competing the other twigs for bees and sun light. It’s not until we stop looking out at the world and look into ourselves that we can see we our the tree connected to all twigs. We our all one. Some one said to me the other day. They couldn’t see any advantage in meditation. 😢 If you want to be a twig then I guess there isn’t. But if you want to be a tree😊

Another great podcast. Thank you, Jason The human personality is inherently unstable, without a permanent center of identity, and hence is a source of suffering. The permanent center is the ineffable name of God, Om which means Only Me!

Where is the lesson that tells us all how we forgot we're Brahman? Alan Watts tells the story that we got bored with always knowing everything. So we created something called forgetting to allow us to be surprised. Apparently the switch to allow allness or oneness to return has been hidden in such a way that it is nearly impossible to find. Only some make it, and even then, not all the way. The instruction to stop thinking doesn't really work very well.

We forget what we really are because of thinking so unless you can get to that state of no thoughts wether through praying, meditation ,flow etc you will be stuck in confusion, but in the state of no thinking you will be one with everything where time and space wont matter, you will be in peace, content, and happy ,detached from everything And to live in that state always is to simply live authentically without judgement ,thoughts or attachment

How to understand something I have no experience of? I would be lying If I said I am not confused. Taking someone else's word for the reality of my existence, is religion.

This is the right question. Let us not believe in any religion at its face value. Your body has changed with time, your emotions have changed with time, your intelligence has changed with time; But under all these changes you always experienced a unifying "first person experience". This first person experience of all the changes that you are witnessing owing to "parallax error" causes an effect of misunderstanding yourself with the body and mind. Since body and mind changes constantly why is it that you dont feel the change constantly? That is because we are neither the body nor the mind. We are the "light" that illumines the body and mind. The outer world science experts like Newton, Galileo etc gave us clear principles and proved to us the unseen forces of gravity. Scientists like Adi Shankara, through their scientific commentaries and bodies of work gave proofs and reasoning of recognizing our true unchanging realities. Good luck with the journey, we all share the same destiny of a unified consciousness. We dont have to memorize the works of Newton or blindly believe in whatever he says. We just need to be open to see their work, apply ourselves with their observations; and lo and behold we see their truth. In a similar vane lets not believe any of the spiritual texts at face value; we study it; apply it and only if it passes the scrutiny of observations should we accept it.

Thus, the value of psychedelics--direct experience of profoundly altered perception, thought and feeling. Take a big dose, and then the words and meditation will quickly lead you to the door of enlightenment.

If you are confused that is a good thing! Confusion is only at the level of the mind. Letting the mind settle, you will discover you already know this truth in another way 🙏

Which is nonsense. We aren’t all “one”. Love is the nature of the ultimate reality and in order for true love to exist there must be plurality. You are a separate paramatman than me. There is no ultimate Brahman that makes us one.
