He's taking less equity and basically gives a loan that he profits off of and then keeps that smaller piece. It works in some ways because he will want them to do good to recoup his money, at the same time once he gets his money the company may be worth way more which would make his deal cheaper in the long run. But some of his deals are trolling to make someone like marc give a better offer lol
