I wonder, if you bought a car specifically to do UBER with, can you write the car purchase off as a tax write off? The reason why I am asking is because I have two other cars that I use for personal use, but if I purchase a car and just use it for UBER can I wrote off the whole car purchase as a tax write off?

I started a lawn care and landscaping business that I run solo in the summer. Its done very well, but I've been trying to figure out what to do in the offseason. I'm about to get my license as a life insurance agent and while I get going with that I'm also going to do some food delivery, Uber driving, and possibly instacart on the side. I'm signed up with instacart in Uber as of today. We also sell candles and wax melts, and I do some woodworking making hand carved signs, so we do a little bit of everything around here to make ends meet. I'll do everything I can to stay self-employed forever

Mike thx for this video, I am going to replicate your path. I began food delivery here in South Central Pa June 1st this year. Using your input I have fine tuned my efforts to achieve $600-$700/ week regularly. I really appreciate your videos. A bit about me I am 68 yrs old and spent a lifetime in consultative wholesale sales in Bldg materials. I made and lost a fortune. Forcibly retired 7 years ago I went into real estate and insurance sales both of which frankly sucked big time. Now retired I settled on food delivery to augment my income as opposed to part time at a big box store. I have no CEO, no corp politics, no corp back stabbers, minimal paperwork, no continuing education, and no office politics. With over 40 yrs of sales experience I have channeled those skills into delivery. I treat my customers like gold and make a good first impression. My tips show my efforts are appreciated. I have been researching the gig economy and am glad I ran across your channel. This vid has given me other ideas that I plan to pursue. Best.

I'm literally on my 10th day with DD and my goal is $500/week. We have a 2 income household and I haven't set my goals too high, as long as the bills get paid and we also have some wiggle room. That being said, however, I've been going well beyond my goal so far, and I feel like I have some room to breathe without having to work alllll day. My market does ok, but the thing is the city and county I live in is so spread out and I'm driving in the back country almost every day to deliver orders. So with all things considered, I feel like I'm doing pretty well. Would I like to make 10k+ a month? Sure. Who wouldn't. But I have to look at my situation and my market realistically and achieve the goals, even going beyond that, each week that make sense for me. I'm really enjoying what I'm doing and I'm happy with the results I'm seeing already, especially due to the nature of my market.
