I agree that Ashley is a person who suffers from severe borderline personality disorder and sociopathy, but talking as if Andrew wasn't a lying psychopath behind the false appearance of a normal person, it's scary how Andrew manages to deceive almost everyone in dissimulate that he is a victim or say that he is like his father, and Andrew reminds me a lot of his mother, a liar, disingenuous, hypocritical, empathy only with her husband, without remorse, victimistic, self-centered just like Andrew who is fake, the game all, a complete liar, victimist, egocentric, possessive, hypocritical, without remorse, empathy only with Ashley, sadistic, aggressive opportunist, sarcastic, cynical, and the same character as both. Andrew who gave Ashley the idea to hide Nina's body, as he was irritated when Ashley wanted to leave Nina's body in the box, he tells Ashley that it would be better to hide the body in a forest, he wanted to dig more deepen the hole where Nina would be hidden, Ashley didn't even know where she would hide the body, the one who had in mind and knew that Nina's parents and friends were looking for her was Andrew, and even so, instead of him proving to be a human, nothing psychopath, he proved to be a primary psychopath, as Andrew, being aware that Nina's family was worried and suffering with the disappearance of their daughter, he still had in mind that he should hide his crime of cruelly torturing and killing a child, Ashley may have angered him for doing this, but the game proved that Andrew only maintains the appearance of someone neurotypical (I don't doubt at all, that Andrew just waited for Ashley to have her bouts of insecurity to commit the crime), even after for days, he was more worried about the police finding the body than genuine remorse, he never once thought about the family who was suffering and what he did, someone who feels remorse, wouldn't think about hiding and being cold and calculating in front of someone dead on the contrary, I would try to call for help, I didn't see Andrew mourning for Nina at any point, but rather his concern and outburst of being trapped and losing his little sister, he remained cold and calculating in the face of the contempt he was having for Nina's own body (if That doesn't mean Andrew is very cold-blooded, so I don't know what he is lol) . When Andrew is with Ashley, he appears vulnerable, bothered by the deaths, but when he is alone, he is cold, sadistic, possessive, egocentric, calculating, violent towards his victims, cruel, despicable, a liar, a hypocrite and a victimist. Ashley's drawing with Andrew crying is funny, because she herself can't understand that there has been a psychopath fixated on her for years, he is so intelligent that he manages to fool his own sister into thinking that Andrew isn't like her (his soul has a color similar to demons), even Ashley herself, like the players, thought that Andrew had nightmares about the deaths but when we interact with his bed alone, we have a revelation of his falsehood: Narrator saying: "You really have as many nightmares as you say" Proving how cynical and liar Andrew is behind the mask of someone neurotypical and good, he has always been this fake person but because he is quite intelligent, he can imitate someone normal and charismatic very well. I agree that Ashley is evil but Andrew is much more evil than her!

I think Ashley's true self is like her mother's and so are her appearances. Andrew's personality is more like his fathers. He is depressed and constantly manipulated by the significant other. However, I do believe that Andrew is probably a mild psychopath as his constant act to play victim when he also is responsible as the same things as Ashley. However I do this Ashley is as bad as Andrew if not worse because she is also probably a psychopath, but she's on the deep end of the spectrum. She is more unstable than Andrew is, and she (Andrew as well) is a remorseless and guiltless cannibal and manipulator who guilt tripped her own brother into killing a child, and when she died her reaction was sort of relieved or nonchalant. Andrew's was more so afraid of the consequences more so than his actions, but it is evident the evn traumatized him. Also, Ashley blackmailed him into losing all of his friends to accompany her, which probably led to the incestuous and codependency Andrew returned for Ashley. You could argue that Andrew is a liar and manipulator which he kind of is, but as far as we know that shit was only effective to a low self-esteem Julia. The community saw through him. His mother saw through him. And even Ashley knows he's full of shit, she has constantly made hints that she knows she's never forced him into doing anything (except killing the hitman, and losing all of his friends)

Also I will say that Andrew does not feel remorse at all. He feels guilt, and that guilt can't lead to remorse because he is not normal. However, he may have panicked with the hiding the body in the forest thing because he thought that when he got caught he'd got to prison which shows how naive and much of an idiot he was because even when I was 10-12 I knew kids were usually let off the hook or went to juvie at best for crimes like these because courts usually feel sympathy for troubled kids in households without active parents. I also think that people forget that Ashley probably has depression as she is constantly asking for validation from her brother. It's obvious Andrew suffers from depression which is why it's so easy for him to victimize himself for the crimes he commits with Ashley

​​@@DangerLanger-rm4elThe problem is that the majority of the community thinks that Andrew is not a psychopath, and is not lying or pretending (something he is the whole game), I disagree that Andrew has depression, his look in the game, it's not depression, it's his serious look (the psychopath has this expression when he is without the mask of sanity) both Andrew and Renee have the same character and looks, Andrew is certainly genetic with his psychopathy, now I disagree that Ashley is a psychopath and suffers from psychopathy severe (if she were a psychopath, she would be disguised like Andrew and real psychopaths always wear a mask to appear normal, and severe psychopaths have no empathy for anyone, something that Ashley has for Andrew), she doesn't know her real brother, so much so that as she sees Lady 302 dead, she thinks that Andrew tried something with that girl but in fact, he eliminated her, to leave no witnesses and for Ashley, she thinks that Andrew has nightmares but in reality true, he pretends to have nightmares to sleep with her, she herself doesn't understand who Andrew is at the end of the burial (that Andrew without remorse, vulnerability and hater of Ashley, is Andrew's true self), she doesn't know who he is, proving that Andrew is a great fake actor who continues to deceive everyone who is a victim and manipulated, who is actually manipulated in the whole game, it is Ashley who thinks she is brilliant, and the only person she really manipulated was Júlia, Andrew deceived his parents, society, his little sister and the players by seeing him as someone manipulated, since Andrew was already possessive of Ashley since he was a child, he wasn't traumatized in my opinion, he was freaked out for fear of losing Ashley and get arrested (And because tcoaal's world is dystopian, it could be that children there who did something serious would be sentenced to life in prison), but you didn't understand why he preferred to hide Nina's whereabouts, he did it because he didn't want to be arrested out of selfishness, because throughout the game, Andrew doesn't like to take responsibility for his actions, but rather blames someone for his mistakes, proving that his guilt is more cold and false throughout the game, he always made Ashley a scapegoat throughout the game , proving that he is more toxic than she is. Ashley probably suffers from some degree of sociopathy but she is also a severe borderline, as throughout the game, she displays serious problems with self-esteem, abandonment and emotional instability. Andrew and Renee (his mother), are similar because they are both fake, liars, they only love one person (her husband or his little sister), Ashley is similar to her father, because she doesn't wear a mask (just like her mother and Andrew), codependent, obsessed and depressed (their face says it all in the game). And about Ashley not being a psychopath, it's because every psychopath is someone who is disguised, there is no such thing as a psychopath without a mask, as they could not live in society, unlike sociopaths who don't care about social life, psychopaths like to camouflage themselves as someone normal. To deceive or get what they want from someone, kit9 studio itself sent a video proving that Andrew uses a mask of sanity (just like psychopaths use): Narrator saying: "Forget all that, she's sooooo family" Narrator saying: "Do you care about your family?" Narrator speaking: "You really don't care" Narrator speaking: "Not other than trying to look normal anyway" Proving that Andrew camouflages himself to look like someone normal, proving that he is a genuine psychopath in the game, and Ashley is a less than intelligent sociopath!

Another interesting thing is that although Ashley is quite the manipulator, Andrew is just as good, if not ultimately better and also nowhere near as overt. In one of the sneak peeks to chapter 3, Julia approaches Andrew and asks him about “rumors” everyone is talking about (which is probably everyone talking about Andrew’s and Ashley’s connection). Now, in order to subvert these rumors from the social perspective and Julia’s perspective, Andrew ultimately asks her on a date, so that nobody suspects anything about Andrew; not to mention, this, along with everything else, confirms Andrew is just as head over heels for Ashley just as she is for him. And I believe his manipulative side will be revealed in such a nasty manner that may or may not cause the death for one of these siblings; he loves her, but considering his “tendencies” he’s the more emotional form of a maniac and may end up slaying Ashley, himself, or someone else which may end up being his death or imprisonment.

Andrew is not just a maniac for Ashley (I highly doubt Andrew would honestly do any harm to her, no matter how cold and calculating he is, he would never harm her as he only empathizes with her). I completely agree with you that Andrew is a great manipulator, the guy is a genius at lying and deceiving people with his mask of sanity, there are still people who think that Andrew is manipulated into doing these things but in reality he was never someone normal, he just tries to seem normal anyway, kit9 studio himself uploaded a video unmasking his true personality and that he never cared about his parents: Narrator saying: "Forget all that, she's soooo family" Narrator saying, "Do you care about your family?" Narrator speaking: "You really don't care" Narrator speaking: "Nothing more than trying to appear normal anyway" The Kit9 studio itself proving that Andrew only needs to be seen as someone neurotypical, because behind his mask of sanity, there hides a mild psychopath with enough alibi to fool almost everyone that he is forced to do these things to others Andrew is a sneaky character and a totally genius strategist, in my opinion!

@@joshuamourning6650 I have actually theorized a little bit that this is the likely scenario the other being that the 3 eyed demon creature aka lord unknown is actually Noelle’s progeny spawn from her own universe traveling and contacting other members of different universes it encounters, it have managed to come across group of occultists from TCOAAL universe or Andrew and Ashley’s own universe eventually coming across Andrew and Ashley more than one occasions I have also suggested that Kit9 should make another spin off trilogy about this connecting some of Nemlei and Kit9 trilogies to extents for a epic longer chapter that builds up to this big battle however it should still be based in COAAL universe mostly making Andrew and Ashley the main characters to stop Lord Unknown however the style should adapt or adopt other styles into the mix of RPG.

@@joshuamourning6650 Also C-115 and Andrewnotandy make decent content however Andrewnotandy is perhaps better and have made his own fanfics about 2 so far based on TCOAAL which I do recommend “Bird Cage” and “What Could’ve Been” it is similar to Nemlei’s and Kit9 TCOAAL plot stories for each chapters however it is a lot longer, more expanded detailed with more character development and details that they could take influence from since it had more interesting ideas and possible outcomes Also his fanfics blends extents of decay and burial mostly burial for the first one he has developed as for the second fanfic it is just a burial like route however it is only one chapter.

nice video, i feel like andrew‘s suicide might actually happen in one of the chapters... maybe as a bad ending?? who knows, but nice video. and another foreshadow (of my own): we can see that he frowns everytime he hugs someone (even during a flashback, he frowned when ashley hugged him) which might resemble that in that “bad ending” when he takes his own life. the last he will ever do is hug ashley before disappearing forever, and maybe this could be in the burial route (the normal one), or maybe about the burial route (estaghfarullah version) when he hugs her. that's the only time he hugs without a frown, so maybe the estaghfarullah route could be where he isnt so melancholic and exhausted (which as people say; he accepted his reality with his sister) btw, that's just me writing a theory and called it a foreshadow. im not that good at foreshadowing btw, so forgive me. haha

phycological horror is meant to be like this and this isnt even that bad for one. its meant to fuck up ur brain and make you uneasy. however unlike other games that do it by a first person player, its a story about andy and ashley that is similar to the real world in a way they give the horror through writing and the assumption something like this can happen irl and it is possible. Your response was an example of the game doing its job in the genre its designed for.

@@Ayemshoum Its a phycological horror it doesn't have to include gameplay to induce that into you. Also on the page where u read about it, it says "Walk-n-talk adventure with light puzzling. Brother and sister practice cannibalism after witnessing a botched satanic ritual." as soon as it says walk-n-talk it should infer that the type of gameplay is more like a story and a view from a third person perspective. and it does say that it just involves small puzzles here and there which it does. It represents a story in a game format because you interact with the story depending how u can affect it through gameplay. but its clear its not gonna be you as a player discovering messed up things but instead a story from another perspective that you can learn the lore of and connect with. The reason its a game and not a typical visual novel is because the dev made it interactable through the dialogue that you can uncover and find and the different paths you can take. The reason it gets attention is because of that and how the writing affects the horror aspect. When a game executes its job which in this case is to psychologically make you feel uneasy and dislike what's occurring inside of it (like how its oversexualized), that's the reason it gets the praise it does is because it combined those features in an amazing way that most of the time is executed poorly than other games or similar stories. Anyways your opinion is somewhat valid when looking at it as praise for the gameplay not how its executed. The execution is what people praise and love about the game, the gameplay is to do the job of a psychological horror, and the story connects it together with the player to hook them in which is why the fanbase was formed as fast as it did. But if its overrated then its overrated whatever it still would be considered a good game.
