Love this young chef, uses proper Pressure cooker proper Steel utensils , kitchen looks organized & good . . At home & in many Desi homes they cook wonderful food but use cooking ware so fuc.. old mishmash, . Plates not matching , never lay table . Indian cooking is the best cuisines. Sir , In our Maharashtra women's gets boar about their daily cooking but at that time easy option is dal dhokli which we called in marathi chakulya or varanfal with sweet name but it's very tasty and we almost like and prefer for daily dishes 👌 👍 😋

In Maharashtra we call it "वरण-फळं " or "चकोल्या". It is a traditional Maharashtrian recipe. We use tamarind for tanginess.

Chef, you were absolutely correct by saying this as Indiana pasta. In our family many times when we have leftover daal and don't want to make dokhli we use good quality penne pasta as a replacement and it tasted awesome 👍. Thanks for sharing such a wonderful and comforting recipe.

I'm a Gujarati but we make it a bit different. No garam masala like laung dal chini etc. Also no tomatoes instead for khattapan we use only imli ka pulp. Sweetness ke liye we too add gud. We also add grated fresh/dry coconut, sesame seeds along with steamed peanuts which makes it more wholesome. And we use only ginger green chilli paste for masala. Waise aapki koshish bohot achhi thi. Ek baar hamari style se bhi banakar dekhyega. You will love it. Thanks 😊🙏🏻

This is sunday special dish at my home. Seriously like every sunday since my childhood till now. Never knew chefs even knew the name of it because only gujjus make it. Another thing to mention is desai vada which is very rare dish and only desai community makes it. If you could research on it.😊

Wow it's my favorite recipe and I always make dal dhokali on saturday we add green split mungdal(chiltewali mu gdal )in it it tastes very good and also add fresh coconut and whole dry kharek in it also it looks tastier once sure make it and we add greated tomato when we ear add finely chopped banana in. I use half moong dal ,half toor dal little a spoon of channa dal instead of ground nut...in ghee tadukka I add crushed coriander seed and garlic sliced ...try this use lime juice instead tamarind...tastes good 👍
