Couple things to add as a mediocre doom player. Jump before you punch too, you slow down when you hit the ground you dont go a ton farther but its still useful. The turn punch is super easy, you turn your camera to whatever direction you want then jump. Timing your turn isn't that critical as long as its before your jump. You mentioned this I just wanted to make it clearer. Also keep in mind after you jump your punch is canceled you wont damage anyone, the best thing you can do if you jump right into someones face on accident by jumping is to shoot then uppercut. Meteor strike can be used against widow and mercy even though they have movement by placing it between mercy and her guardian angel target or between widow and her grapple ledge. You can see brandito do this in the clips in this vid. If mercy or widow just back up you can easily punch them out of their movement once you land. Vs pharah you touched on the fact that she still has movement abilities, i just want to emphasize to wait for her to not have jump jet. Your best bet is to get to highground and punch toward her making sure not to land the punch and knock her away then uppercut. There are also 3 playstyles to think of when playing doom. Flank, peel and brawl. Learn when to do each. Dont work on getting to a long flank if your team is going in, they are 5 v 6 and will probably lose. Be in your flank spot when the fight starts and communicate with your team, pay attention to enemy comp. Ask your team to bait out important cooldowns like hook, shield bash etc. Peel when your healers being flanked is causing you to lose. You dont need to play next to them, its usually best to play on a highground where you can slam to them. Brawl when their backline is too hard to kill, you are incredibly effective at main tank displacement. Communicate with your team that you are going to give them a free kill and to be ready to focus fire. Diagonal punches are also useful to learn I wont go into it but there are useful videos here on youtube teaching how to do them. Sorry I tend to ramble hope I help someone become cc gawd.

Try not to condescend people you're trying to help by saying the thing they can't seem to do right is "super easy". It's a jerk thing to do. 2. I can't do it, even with your "It's super easy" instructions. You say Rocket > Turn > Jump, right? Tried that... 100 times. Can't do it. 3. The video mentions that mouse sensitivity has to be "not low". I have mine on 40 (Up from the 15 I actually had on before I tried to work on Doom) and it isn't working. The issue is that I'm barely handling 40 sensitivity right now. If I go up to, say, 70, I can't even function. I lose all sense of direction and control.

You got the basic engage wrong. It's - Slam, Shoot, Uppercut, Shoot (until dead), Punch (escape) You didn't include the shoot between the slam and uppercut. This is vital for the extra damage.

Wow this community is very...questionable. Doomfist was nearly a throw pick back then. Now we get a minor buff for him so that he is playable again and now everyone freaks out. It is so sad that i have to do this list for all those noobs out there: Those heros counters doomfist VERY GOOD: Orisa (fortified ability) Sombra (hacking ability) Tracer (just blink) Junkrat (steel trap. He gets trapped everytime, believe me) Zarya (free bubble charge) Roadhog (hook) Believe me i played and mastered him and he is not even as nearly as op. He is in a perfect spot. And sombra can solo fight him without having any fright to get killed by him. I play him just like earlier. Slam and punch (half of the full power) and maybe uppercut to get headshot with primary fire.

I think that with doomfist, its like common sense. You can only tell someone what he does. The way you play is how you prefer. Its literally different amongst every single doom player. The thing is, hes more of a character that gets learned slowly. Hes extremely easy to learn, but each little movement affects his overall speed and mobility. Hes one of blizzards best characters. The only reason why hes so hard to counter is bc no one knows how to yet. Its like dive. People slowly learned that using dice against dive is super effective. Just my thoughts

2 Errors I found: 1) 2:50 His Basic Combo: Seismic Slam -> Uppercut -> Handcannon until the thing is dead. The Correct Combo is: Seismic Slam -> 1x Handcanon -> Uppercut -> Handcanon 'till dead. You should even be able to queue these abilities: While your Seismic Slam completes you already hold the Button for Uppercut as well as Handcanon. These 2 abilities will then activate almost simultaneously. A very good example can be found at 4:13: look at the Number of shots he has left between slam and uppercut. He does it every time but it is almost invisible if you do not know it. 2) Right after you used your Ult you will be very easy to hit. In order to prevent that you can use a completely uncharged Rocket Punch where you jump at the end. This will give you a quick burst of movement making you much harder to hit. A good example is at 2:00 where he uses it in order to get back to his team. you can also use the same Technique in order to quickly finish someone off who barely survived your ultimate. He wants to do it at 10:55 for example but slightly misses. You do not always want to use this technique. If you think you are safe you can charge you Rocket Punch or do something else.

#1) is actually partly wrong, a good doomfist doesn’t always have to uppercut on certain heroes, like a widow or someone who you can pretty much just immediately shoot a few times to kill them. This is further supported by the fact that a lot of heroes like these have small mobility to get out of the movement lock from dooms uppercut, for example hanzos jump, so you would actually want to slam him to bait out the jump then shoot him and upper cut him to finish him off and use that extra height from the uppercut to punch back to your team

ok I was prepared to cry upon seeing this because I've seen too many mainstream overwatch channels pretend they can play doomfist while only ever using punch for damage and engaging with uppercut>slam etc etc... so THANK YOU for getting brandito stuff for this, you should have further emphasised that you shouldn't be trying to play exactly like a "pro" in comp until you've sunk TONS of hours into DF because their playstyle is often super greedy because they know they can get away with it. overall though this was really good. You missed just "jump before punching to go slightly further with punch-jumps" but everyone forgets to include that (execpt for Hyderomastgroningem) so that's fine. before going into full rollout setups it's good to mention that you can get a targeted slam from just hopping off of a small ledge (like the ridges around the edge of hanamura B as a good example) because that's super important to be able to dive in at any point. I'm surprisingly happy with this though, maybe people will have any clue how to play doom now ^-^ good job!

pro tip, when in a room with a low ceiling, use the combo: slam-shoot-shoot-uppercut as a finisher. you do this because the upper cut doesn't provide as much cc in a small room, as it does damage more effectively

one thing to note that you didn't mention. If you hold your primary fire while you're in the animation of seismic slam, it cancels the animation at the end, still does the damage, and shoots the enemy so you can uppercut faster and adds 1 shot. it makes the actual combo faster, and adds more damage !

Couple of tips you didn't hit on: 1) When you're doing the rocket jump for extra distance, make sure you jump before you punch as well as after as it can give even extra space. 2) Your seismic slam can be given extreme distance as long as there isn't ground directly underneath you. So you could jump off to the side of the payload and be able to dive much deeper than if you were to slam without the blue indicator. Keep in mind sometimes it's best to jump backwards or to the side over a complete drop to go deep.

I don't know what it was, but I started playing Doom in season 8 because I wanted to learn how to play him. He was extremely fun. Around 3:00 .. the combo can actually be improved. You can slam, left click, uppercut, then left click some more without adding any extra time, yet adding an extra left click in there. Slam-left click-uppercut-left click more The uppercut actually cancels the animation of firing the left click, so you get the extra damage. It can be done so fast you don’t even notice, sort of like a tracer blink-melee-recall animation cancel. Hope this made sense. Cheers P.s. you can actually see brandito do this at 3:27 and 3:35

One note about the doomfist turn punch: It works better if you turn your mouse during the punch animation and then jump. I can't remember if you have to hold W but you can figure that out for yourself.

This video is missing animation cancels, which are essential. Doomfist isn't just about mobility and burst damage, it's about speed. If you give an Ana or McCree too much time to react in your combos, you're slept, stunned, and dead. You can squeeze your primary fire into many parts of different combos, and as a followup to enemies who barely survive your ultimate. The most important animation cancel is before upper cut. You can one-shot Tracer and baby D.Va with that animation cancel, which is essential to prevent re-mechs. In slam-uppercut combos, you should always, always squeeze in a primary fire shot between slam and upper cut. There's more too.

not sure if this is a bug or not, but a few times i tried to use meteor strike to land on roof tops, i would end up going through the building onto the first floor?
