MIXING VALVE REPLACEMENT!

⭐️In this week's video, Derrick changes a mixing valve! The customer had l no hot water in their home. Derrick diagnosed it as a lousy mixing valve, but that wasn't the only thing he found. After replacing the valve, the flow of the hot water got worse 😳. After contemplating what to do, Derrick decided to do a coil cleaning to restore hot water flow. Thankfully it worked, and the homeowner got their hot water back! The result was a happy customer! Great job, Derrick!

Couldnt you of used a propane torch to loosen up those semi frozen nuts holding the mixing valve. I know there are gaskets in there, but you are replacing them, no?

Wouldn't be better to put in a better valve, at least one that can easily fixed with replacement cartridge?

How much would a service like this normally cost? I’m having the exact same problem with my mixing valve, but I was quoted close to $900 for a repair.

Depends what their labor rate is in my area I charge $95 an hour plus parts so I'd say it's a $250-350 job (including flushing it with sizzle) unless something else pops up while your fixing it which tbh it happens sometimes
