What happens after the corona? There are positive and funny side effects from the horrible, terrible covid-19 pandemic. Just watch the big changes from before and after the corona lockdown in Norway - and learn how Norwegians and the world have become better people and humans in so many ways. You will be incredibly surprised of some of the changes. Did you think Norwegians only ate bad food and never talked to strangers? Think again! We will cover topics like: food, family, heroes, pets, equality, socializing, nature, time and no more bad hair days.
We are so sorry for all of you who have become ill or have relatives and friends who are infected or have died.
In this rich and sobering video packed with humor, sarcasm, quirkiness and a lot of love and reflections, Ronald and Mads will take you trough the life after. After the closing down of society, after the layoffs, after the isolation, after the boredom, after the crises and after the loneliness.
You will experience beautiful spring and different places in the city of Oslo. We will meet the family of Mads. Watch Ronald do training. Mads will reveal his hair style and attack his stepmother. Ronald wonders which day and time it is - and a poor employee at the local grocery store will both be dissed and celebrated. You will also meet the most beautiful, loving Norwegian cat in the world and unfortunately hear Mads lock in a poor dog.
This is a multi-faceted video full of different angles, thoughts and observations about how people in general and Norwegians in particular have adapted to this new disease and changed their lives for the better.
This is exciting content that is moving forward, towards a better future for all of us. We hope you will enjoy it!
Please share your positive and smiling corona stories with us. We love to read them, and they inspire and motivates us to create more.
Thanks to the crew at Rema 1000 Sannergata. The guys we met at the park. The family of Mads. And the sweet cat Mali Randers.

** ABOUT YOURWAY2NORWAY **
YOURWAY2NORWAY is a different travel channel. We combine education with humor and entertainment. It’s an authentic inside guide to real life in Norway. We highlight small and large themes, cultural characteristics and Norwegian phenomena. All the stuff you won’t find in a tourist brochure.
The content is perfect for people who travel to Norway as tourists, visit friends and family in Norway, study in Norway or work in Norway. It is ideal for anyone with Norwegian roots and DNA. It is also interesting for anyone who wants to learn more about other cultures and people. And for all of you looking for some smile and laughter.
The guys behind are; Ronald Sagatun - a enthusiastic and sarcastic Sami Latino with a Norwegian passport. Throughout his life he has tried to find out what it means to be Norwegian. Now he shares his hilarious experiences. Mads is a grumpy Norwegian dude, providing the channel authenticity and the typical Norwegian way of viewing the world. We always try to be funny, self-deprecating, human and, when it´s necessary; sincere and passionate.

I am 62 and was looking for an easy out to retire. Wasn't expecting to take the whole world with me, but it worked. I am happy at home, alone, and loving it. What a relief. Also love watching your vids, so keep them coming as you can. God Bless.

So we have you to thank for this ;) I am also 62 but my job still goes on: everything can be done at home on the computer, even meetings. It is amazing, who would have thought that 5 years ago?

"I say I love you, and he says thank you... Well something's haven't changed." This was such a lovely, bittersweet moment. I have been saying 'I love you' more too. Enjoying time with my daughter and pets. Cooking from scratch, tending my garden, going for walks. I love the covid pace. If this pace could continue without the fear of illness, I think most people would be much happier than they were.

I’ve been retired a few years, so “sheltering at home” is just normal life, except my knitting group meets on Zoom now, instead of in my back parlor. The biggest change is that I used to call my 90-year-old mother once a week, and now I call every day. She does a jigsaw puzzle, and I play Roku Mahjong, and we just natter away. I think we’re both a little surprised to discover how much we enjoy these daily calls.

The fact that we can stay at home and we are still able to do everything from home without running around like a headless chicken whole day: home office, home school, home grocery delivery, commuting through the city on bikes or on foot.... That is knew and I find it very positive 💖.

We are fortunate the pandemic happened in 2020. Had it occurred 5 years ago or even 2, less people might have worked or schooled from home. A lot of positive advancement will come about from the technology lessons learned.

Great video! Mads is so cute, I see he is shy but that just makes him cuter! Ronald, you are such a good host. As for my positive experience with the "shelter in place" order... I don't mind it at all. For the first time in my life, I appreciate being an introvert! My husband and I are very happy on our 10 acre rural property, and with our 150 year old farm house. We don't leave our small town. The local grocery store and the pharmacy next to it supply almost all our needs. Not thrilled about wearing a mask, but the positive there is no one can see my facial expressions! I can make faces and no one knows. ;) We are almost 70 years old and making the most of things. We keep in touch with our families online and through cell phone groups. Haven't chatted this much with my siblings since we were kids. Be safe. Love you guys!

Donna Valentino Gladly! Our President is massively incompetent and anyone who supports him has to account for him calling the pandemic a hoax, instead of actually preparing for it like a sane person would. Now we’re #1 in the world, ranked by Covid-19 cases. Maybe reconsider supporting for someone who has literally killed our fellow Americans.

There are three schools near me within walking distance and in the mornings, the traffic and all the students walking is HORRIBLE. But not now! There's NO traffic at all. It's HEAVEN. The other thing I like: When I go to buy gas, there is never more than one to two cars there. No waiting. This was soooo funny as usual. The frozen pizza: "It's not supposed to taste anything". Here in California, we are not allowed to sit in any park. We can exercize but no sitting even alone per orders of our Governor. That couple at the picnic table couldn't sit there here, the police would tell them to leave. I enjoyed seeing Mad's family on their cozy patio. Handsome couple. Tell Stepmom not to cut her hair, it's pretty. Mads is cute and funny, "Been 9:00 for a month now". Oh, that water is BEAUTIFUL!!! Thank you for making this great video for all of us. Ha Det.

I love Friday evening when Denmark sings together from 20-21 (8-9 pm.). I see so many people around the world helping each other - young people moving in with their grandparents to help out, neighbors picking up groceries or medicine to help out and all these new ways of doing things that are actually smarter. It restores my faith in humanity and warms my heart. The whole standing together apart and community mindset that we talk about in Denmark - I love it.

Yes, that is one of the things I thought about. The little animals don’t know of any difference. I see people outside working on their homes. It’s a throwback to past times here in America. Children are outside, parents are outside with them. There has been bittersweet. I have a Senior daughter that will not get the traditional American high school graduation and Senior year, she didn’t get to have prom or her last season of softball....but it has bought us more time with her. Maybe has taught her that life is never what you expect but it goes on and it’s what you make of it. I’m off of work through this thing- we still have plenty and are eating well and have more time together. So far, so good. Yes, it can drive you nuts being stuck at home but you count your blessings and hopefully pass some blessings on to others especially if you are able. Glad to see your videos- keep it up!

@@edennis3202 that's why I went with the "most things" not an absolute......,but of course when you add the human element you leave the door open for anomaly. That type of anomaly and intent exists only in humans. Humans too often look for blame and focus on the negative

Thank you so much for this video Ronald and Mads! I am in NJ USA and we are still locked down hard, but I have been enjoying making my own bread, cooking all of our meals myself and calling friends and family to say hello. I am lucky that I can do my job from home and it's actually nice to sit tucked away in comfy clothes with extra quiet to concentrate on some of the projects I am working on. I am getting used to wearing a mask when I go out - my bangs have gotten very long since I can't get a haircut and I have a black mask, so when I go out, I look like a ninja! I think my cat is getting used to us being home ... she is acting a little less feral ... I think she is starting to like me! LOL Love to you guys, your families and your happy pets!

Another lovely video, as always, kudos guys!!! So, I live in Athens, a big city that never sleeps etc. However, we've been on lockdown for about two months and it's been difficult, however it was still spring, the blossoming trees smell like heaven, you can hear bords and bees and at the park where I walk my dogs I actually saw a turtle, I hadn't seen one in years! Greeks have always been considerate of the elderly and people in need but during the lockdown there was a team in every neighbourhood that volunteered to care for the elderly whose family is living away... An of course my dogs are having a blast, we spend all day together and we go for longer walks :)! And of course we all learned to appreciate the little things that we take for granted...

Like everybody is in this together and literally have the ability to do it. With technology. I cried over a bus driver in London, like I knew him, cause I've seen what he went thru. So he's more personal. He's no longer just somebody in another country. I think that's amazing!

I work for a medical software company and we've made it possible for our medical providers to conduct telehealth services when seeing patients face to face it not always practical. And in my line of work, I'm able to work remotely from home without having to go out into the scary Corona-world. Now I can just not worry and relax. I’m working from home and I can wear whatever I want, not worry how I look. I am a person who enjoys my own company, so this suits me fine. I love the slower pace. My son and I have been able to watch some great movies together and just laugh and enjoy each other’s company more than usual.

Sharing with strangers, put off people we don't want to be near or talk with. A stranger helped me deal with my landlady while we were outside shopping. Yep. I enjoy having distance at the place I live, which has multiple tenants. Some I enjoy dealing with some not. Had good talks with my landlady and ignore a couple of others here. Love it. We did zoom video chat in my family for over an hour. I learned from television how to style my hair especially in front. I think I improved my look by going with longer hair and shorter bangs. . Glad Norwegians are learning to adapt too. Our air is beautiful and clean more like Norway. I learned from a Swedish KZbin channel how to better deal with the mental and physical side of Covid19. They said it is good to have limited exposure. I have a housemate who works at a senior care so I felt better. I think the Swedes are correct. I feel it has helped us here.

My wife and I visited Norway last year for two weeks. We arrived to visit three of her distant cousins in western Norway. Not once did we eat frozen pizza. Your friend looks like he has become a chef overnight by the looks of his current meals, well done! I noticed when you are around people in public no one was wearing a mask. Here in Kentucky the governor has indicated that everyone in a public place including outside in parks must wear a mask. Currently the United States has been hit very hard by this virus and just now some business are trying to open. We are retired so we can come and go as we please. The big change for us, we don’t get a chance to visit our friends and family as we once did or go out to eat at our favorite restaurants. Stay safe from this virus!

It's not material things but learning something new and interacting with others even if it is by phone or computer. I have time to experiment with new recipes that I seldom tried before because they were too time consuming. Time consuming? What's time? LOL! Take care and know that you do have time now to "stop and smell the flowers"! Also to learn a new skill or prepare a delicious meal! Keep us laughing and all will be right with the world! ♥️🇳🇴🙏🏽🌎

Hi, guys! This is a great video. Good to see Norwegians interacting with strangers, grocery store employees, family members, and relaxing more, expressing feelings more, etc..Covid-19 may have markedly improved interpersonal relations for many. The lack of noise is terrific-wish it were always like this-it's nice to hear nature, rather than hearing vehicles, gas powered lawn equipment, etc. Cooking and baking are on the increase (good to see that Mads' diet has improved-as has his cooking frequency and diet of cinnamon buns) and people may lose weight from not eating out so much. Daily updates from N.Y. and the scientists provide a rational, educated approach to the situation, although the U.S. has recently started to relax in some areas (we'll see where that leads). Restaurants and grocery stores have changed their hours, social distancing and masks and gloves are being enforced in many areas, and most people comply. Homes may never be cleaner, pollution is down, but your videos keep us going. This one was most welcome! BTW, longer hair or not, you're still very attractive!

Mads dad has the same pillbox as I have! So now that's out: I love it that it is so much more quiet. It is almost like it was when I was young. There are just a few airplanes a day and there used to be one every 3 minutes where I live. You can hear the birds!!!!! Yesterday we had Kingsday and people invented the greatest things to still have a nice day! One of the projects was that everybody who wanted to, would play the national anthem at 10.00 a.m. in the street or on their balcony. You could download the sheetmusic for every instrument and/or choir. I joined! I play the violin for 3 years now. I can sing or play the recorder but I wanted to show off 😊. It could have been a very embarrassing moment because nobody is outside in my street and nobody passes. Pityful! There you are, alone in your garden, making a fool of yourself and nobody sees it. 🙄 But I decided to tape it, wished everybody a happy Kingsday and sent it to all my friends, family and some colleagues through Whattsapp. It was fun to do and I was on Whatsapp the rest of the morning and in the evening. So I had a very pleasant Kingsday entirely on my own but not alone. 🇳🇱🎻🇳🇱🎻🇳🇱🎻🇳🇱

I’ve noticed a lot of the same positive changes. I don’t go out very much, only once a week for groceries, and now I see the difference in the trees and flowering bushes as they are really at the peak of their bloom. The air is also very clean and the sky is blue, that’s very nice. One thing I’ve noticed is that my cat seemed to enjoy having me working from home at the beginning, but now the novelty has worn off and she’s starting to take me for granted. She also wants her alone time and she carves time out of her day to nap in a room where I’m not present.

Each day of the shelter in place I have marveled at the fact I could hear more and more birds in our neighborhood. More and more had come back and now they are starting to go silent again. It is actually sad to not hear them as clearly already and it has only been a few days. Love you guys and take care and if I lived in Norway I would say hello even if I did not know you.

I am on lockdown in Southern Ca.Everyone must wear a mask by Governor's order.Much stricter rules than you.I think this is showing people what is really essential and what is not and how dependent we are.It has forced families to be together without everyone rushing off somewhere. That is important. We need to simplify our lives going forward and be more-self sufficient. There are going to be huge impacts in the future as a results of the pandemic, and we really do not know what they will be.The environment has been helped greatly by a couple of months without a destructive human footprint and we can see plainly how important protecting our earth is.It has been devastating because of all the precious lives lost and a world largely ill prepared for a pandemic. That has to change.Anyway, those are some of my musings. You two are hilarious and informative and I love seeing Norway through your eyes.Thank for for great content, very amusingly presented.Funny- how very unnorwegian of you!!!!

it's all true! I think just the appreciation of healthcare workers and grocery store clerks and the utility people who keep our electricity and gas up and running is very nice. Everyone is planting gardens. Its been very interesting here in Michigan, our neighbors have all been concerned for each other. My husband and I have been getting together with friends outside around a fire at a safe distance and just have a glass of wine that we all provide for ourselves because we don't want to get anyone sick, lol! Our children are in another state. They are all grown and actually working during this time. We all get on a zoom call once a week wherever we are and watch a movie together. It's been nice. People are caring more about each other and living less for their job and more for the enjoyment of life. Plus we don't want to be bored so we find things to do around the house and yard. Thanks for your video and your positive outlook! Stay safe!
