That looks very close to my dad’s streamer fly…it is killer, I still tie this fly, also I make different patterns just to see what may work…rock on brother keep these videos coming, most intelligent videos on KZbin

I have working on building a box of steelhead flies for a trip this October to Erie, PA. I think that that pattern may end up in there on some steelhead/salmon hooks in sizes 4, 6, and 8.

Love that hotspot at the back of the fly, I swear when I fish with dry flies, I only use ones that have a little bit of shine to them #flies

There is an old one called Alexander. Which I tie with rust colored wool and a gold spiral wrap In a long shank size 8. But instead of feathers I give it a white foam body over the top tied front and back with an orange floss forked tail. As this is unsinkable it's agreat fly in rough weather and catches loads of trout.

@@Field_Notes_Ohio You'd think so, but KZbin can be selective about who their rules affect. Any video with language like that within a specific time frame can get flagged. Either way, I like to keep the videos family-friendly, even if it is the fly's true name. It's a very popular fly on that river, where I spend the vast majority of my time guiding in the spring.

My first fly I made was a red chenille with two small white chicken feathers on top.I caught a rainbow trout on it but the white little feathers fell out,lol.

Lets just say the name of this fly is a very busy Montreal woman that her expertise is showing you a very good time for money. No!!! You can not find these women any Montreal fly shop locations. Maybe in the back alley of busy street near the fly shops…But beware!!! There most likely not barbless even if there all catch and release🥴
