YouTube GOLD - Building a Mini GOLD Wash Plant: Water System (s1 e3) | RC ADVENTURES

In this episode of #KZbinGold we are building a water system for the 1/14th scale SHAKER PLANT for my Gold Mine. Of course, in true Gold TV style.. not everything goes to plan.. and we learn a lot of lessons. Steve is a buddy of mine from many years ago who has recently delved into the hobby of radio control and has taken a special interest in the RCSparks Gold mining operation. The point of a wash system is to clean the rocks, and dirt that is processed through the top of the shaker, removing any GOLD and washing into a sluice box.
WE HAVE NEVER GOLD MiNED BEFORE .. if you can't tell, HAH!
In fact, we are just bumbling along having fun with two cool hobbies.. bringing them together in a parody mini series - in tribute to the GOLD shows that are all over the TV Networks. We have been watching them for years.. and me, quite avidly.
After testing and reviewing the footage - there were many things I would change about the setup.
1) Close off some of the open piping with valves to make the pump area smaller
2) Have a Recirculating option, so I can have continuous flow of water without the fear of running out
3) Adjust the nozzles to be more of an even spray (Replace the Nozzles with Metal - to INCREASE Pressure!)
4) Move the Top Spray Bars higher up the wash plant. (so it washes dirt dumped from the bucket, right at the very top of the shaker)
5) We may need a higher flow Pump. 800 gph does not seem to be enough to run all three spray bars. But, with tweaks, and dialling it in - it may be enough water flow
6) I need to raise the sluice box for more of an angle
Many moments in this film reminded me of the Gold shows on TV.. and I felt a lot like Todd Hoffman. Me, depending on a build to work out, feeling all good about it.. and then... disaster! then .. you fix it.. then another disaster...!UGH! Whats up with my EXCAVATOR?! First Bucket Curl?! Haha.. Go figure.
So much work to do, and I haven't moved any Gold Rich Pay Dirt!

I know you guys been at this a while. As a commercial driver i came across load wars and i just love. This stuff takes the cake. I have not even priced any of the machinery but im sure its not a cheap date. Keep it up

Nice work on getting the setup done and the test being successful, but you may want to consider this. Have two different pumps instead of trying to have one supply all the pressure to the plant and box would help cut things and problems down. Also you have have an air pocket in the lines of the excavator or the fluid may be old and need changed out as well. Really ready to see the entire thing running and you may want to make a pone to recover the water and reuse it once you get into full operation.

Aaron, those manifold are made to be used with Pex and attached with crimp rings. Under pressure they may not stay on. Just to let you know. Love the series!

Losing pressure with all the additional PVC.....put a valve in to isolate that side.....and you can also increase the Pressure when you slowly close the two ball valves..Just like putting your thumb on the end of the hose..... love the videos keep them coming

Dude, just found your channel tonight, the bulldozer testing video. Watched it, then watched the unboxing video of the dozer and mining truck. Oh man, you peaked my interest. i would consider using two pumps on that setup... circulation pump on the bottom, and a pressure pump for the top. eheim compact+ 3000 is a very good circulation pump, would be good for the bottom... maybe a diaphragm pump for the top, might run hot for extended use tho.

Great job with this one, loose the metal spray bars make a hoop to go around the top and drill holes in a line 1/8inch should be good velocity and pressure.. on my mining gear I use 1100 gpu pump on a gold cube..Great job keep going this is awesome

awesome is all I can say. one thing I would try is sprinkler system head ends that are different colors based on their spray stream or even the different tips for power washers to try and get more of a stronger spray to wash the pay dirt. keep up the work

This going to be sick bro! What if the pump was higher than the shaker? Might provide a little more pressure. You could put it over on the little hill that was behind the shaker, kind of where you were digging. You could than build a scale pump station around the pump. Just a thought. You'll figure it out. Loose the PVC sprayers you made and go to agricultural spray tips used on field sprayers. They are fully adjustable and are cheap. You can get them at pretty much any Farm Tractor Implement supply in your area.

To get more pressure you can always use smaller diameter tubing. Or you could pinch off every other jet up top with a criss cross pattern between the two jet systems. That way everything's still getting sprayed but more pressure

Maybe pressure is low because of all the pipes? Maybe if you could cut some footage out of the pipes it might help. Idk most the time I'm dumb but that's what I think it is.

Look at buying a water aerator. They are dry pumps that pulp water through a hose and expelled through another hose. They are used I'm livewells for fishing. The output on the pumps can vary from 500-1200+ cfm.

My fellow Americans,(Canadians can join in when they know the words) HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY! Medic, you need a ratcheting pvc cutter! Screw the hacksaw and metal pipe cutter man, the ratcheting type is so fast, and makes an excellent impromptu hedge/branch trimmer.

Hi from Liechtenstein I like your Videos and the Gold Videos i like most. For your water system, you could try smaler pipes to get more pressure and the top sprinklers you could use nozzles from 3d printer. Maybe tubes from a planter watering system would be smal enough. The construction could also be smaler, why arround the shaker and not connecting to the botom of the shaker. I am not sure but smaler pipes and shorter ways would generate more pressure. Sorry for my english i hope you understand 😊 I would like to be near to help with these system.
