If you have a channel URL set they're reserving it for you. This page has some more details and should let you select/change it - kzbin.info You can also check YT studio. Customizations -> Basic Info

Hmm… how much will handles really help with the issue of impersonation and phishing? It’s already very easy to check if the user is legit or not (just click and check their channel; e.g., subscriber count, videos, description, date created, etc.). The people who are gullible enough to fall for the scams aren’t likely to check the authenticity of the user via verification of their handle. I’m not saying this is an unwelcome feature, but to be effective at preventing impersonation scams, the implementation will have to be clear enough for even the most gullible to benefit.

@c That's exactly my point.

While I agree you can check and validate *typically* pretty quick. There's a feature I saw used recently in an impersonation where you can "feature" videos from other channels on your channel. So I could search for a video I want on KZbin and display it on my channel homepage. While it won't look exactly the same, it could build some credibility at a quick glance and make it even more believable. I am curious to see how the actual handle display will look, hopefully it's very apparent and easily visible.

@@solmesteren should I wait for stable releases?

@@escape1318 If you allready have the phone then why wait? But if you haven't bought the phone yeat i would recommend to wait. It is probably working fine, but there might be some bugs and things that don't work as intended on the seven's yes, therefore it is experimental. But if you bough the phone allready, why not?

@@escape1318 agree, i think graphineOS, even with Google services gives more privacy and security then a Samsung phone. But in worst case scenario, if you find out you hate it, you can revert to Google pixels standard android and have a new Google Pixel.

When it comes to tech, they go hand in hand. You can't strictly focus on privacy and disregard security.

@@sideofburritos But you can focus on security so much that you give up on privacy. Just like when someone uses Google services.
@sideofburritos
@sideofburritos Жыл бұрын
@MBK While that is true, most of the emails, comments, and forum post I've read put privacy above all else and disregard security as unimportant. You can have security without privacy, but you can't have privacy without security. The second your security is compromised, so is your privacy. It's a balance. As long as choices individuals make take privacy AND security into account (not OR), it leads to a much more well-rounded setup. I also disagree that using Google services means someone has given up on privacy. Everyone's threat model is different. I use ProtonMail when I could host my own email server at my home, that doesn't mean I've given up on privacy. edit: added balance and Google services part
