Many years ago when I was about 9 or 10 in 1973 or 74 I grew up in a very small African country called Swaziland and there was no TV. Every year in September they held a Trade Fair and Embassies and Companies would exhibit there. On one of the stands they had a TV and a video machine and they played music videos and this was one of the songs on it. I was enthralled with it all , for many many years I wondered who sang it and I just found out and heard it again. I'm 62 and you made my day. Thank you very much Good luck and God bless.

of course, “Música Libre” is still an unforgettable chilean tv program of the seventies (72-73) that were the best years. And this is a Classic danced by Cecilia Huidobro

Speaking of, coincidentally, Toto is actually more popular & famous in the Netherlands (even then, in the 80s) than they are in the States.
@38yofrmut9 жыл бұрын
Yeah fourkero1, Mouth & MacNeal were very popular worldwide, but unfortunately because of heavy competition, only a one-hit wonder in the States (maybe Canada too) with 1972's "How Do You Do." Just like other European groups/performers at the time (or shortly after) where English is not their native language (Abba, & later on, The Scorpions, a-ha, Roxette, etc), M&M are very talented & entertaining! All these groups, where English is their 2nd language (& maybe they learned it later on & not raised on both), they sing & write lyrics in English so that they can not only be successful worldwide, but also their ultimate dream & almost guaranteed platinum success is to be famous & get a recording label in the United States!

Heb eindelijk de tekst eens opgezocht. Ik was 6 of 7 toen dit een hit was, verstond er geen klap van, maar was wel verliefd op Maggie.

Didn't they win the 1973 Eurovision contest beating out Abba's Ring Ring?
@BertHappy9 жыл бұрын
no they had the 3th position in 1973 Abba won with the song Waterloo
@38yofrmut9 жыл бұрын
+BertHappy Abba actually won the 1974 Eurovision contest with Waterloo (had they not won, Abba may not have been popular worldwide & Waterloo & eventually Dancing Queen, may not have been released in the US & offered a contract by Atlantic Records). But they entered Ring Ring for the 1973 contest, but didn't win. I should Google or Wiki search to see who won the 1973 Eurovision contest (I thought it was Mouth & MacNeal).
