the Amanda Todd story is so much sadder than people know because it is STILL commonly leading to the suicides of teens online - as the video explains, she was blackmailed by a stranger over a fairly innocent screenshot she was tricked into allowing him to take, and tricked into sharing still more incriminating photos as a result. it's such a common tactic. tell your friends and siblings and people you love, if anyone ever contacts you online and tells you they are going to blackmail you, talk to an adult you trust or even make an anonymous call to the cops asking for advice. there is no reason to give someone more ammo to hurt you with, because they almost never have anything on you in the first place.

When i was in high school a rumor spread that i had gotten a std from my first time since my ex couldnt keep his mouth shut about how he had gotten to sleep with a "virgo". It got so bad that the day it started my ROTC instructors pulled me into their office and asked if it was true that I had slept with someone in my battalion and they needed to know if i had a very contagious lifelong disease that I could have passed it to him. I sat there and cried like yeah i slept with him but i dont have a std i swear i still got kicked from rifle team that day when i was the ONLY female marksman they had which was required for championships. I skipped that class the rest of the school year.

When this whole situation happened, the general story was that it was school bullies het age that led to taking such a horrible choice. I think this may have happened to my friend. When I was 13 and she was 12 she called me in tears saying some guy asked for a shot of her down there. She did it?? Then was super upset when he took a screenshot of her and made it his profile pic. Being a kid myself I could only console her and tell her to just stop replying to him. I do wonder if he was one of these cappers now. Luckily it never went further than that - that I know off.

I hope your friend is doing better now, and if not, let her know that it wasn't her fault, she was a child, she thought she could trust everyone and some sick bastard used her naivety to his advantage, that is 100% manipulation that guy pulled and your friend did not deserve that at all!

You're story and the answer why they kicked out the girl and not the boy, was because they rather favor their sports team cause sports is more important than the safety of girls. I mean I've seen documentaries where people rather save their male winners than the girls. Not saying I hate men, but I hate that schools rather care about their sports reputation than what kids problems was. I mean tell me you never went to a school and treated football like it was on a freaking pedestal and all news was about how great the football team was. 😒
