Rusty Cage is kind of like the antidote to fake-edgy/emo culture. It used to be about expression regardless of what people think of you, but it's become an aesthetic that's all about showing off and being excessive for the sake of being contrarian. Rusty IS genuinely edgy, he really is passionate about the things he creates or does. I've watched him for a while and his work really feels like it's personal and genuine.

As a Rusty Cage fan, this basically will sum up his content pretty well. Rusty Cage doesn’t usually make the same type of content, but it all falls under the “edgy” or “emo” category. He got famous in 2011 for “The Knife Game Song”, where he played five finger filet with a knife while singing a happy little song. Little kids gravitated towards him because he was “edgy”. He swore a lot, he played with weapons, and his humor was darker than the other side of the moon. Back in 2022, he started a guillotine building project, and honestly, this is the most Rusty Cage way to end a series, it encapsulates what the series was about.

I honestly like some of Rusty's music, and he did inspire me to start creating my own logos as well as batches to sew on clothes. I love how creative he is, but I can also admit that he is not perfect and he should've known some people would take his artistic ending of his series too seriously. But on the other hand it is also his project, so he has the right to do with it as he pleases. I am honestly happy it was nothing that was serious, like "Rusty is a bad person because of x, y and z" or something like that. Essentially, he's "killed" Rusty Cage. The entire series was about how he can no longer make the content he wants, and how KZbin is about content mills over genuine artistic content now. His talk about conspiracy theories that you mentioned was a part of the narrative, and was also some social commentary on how gullible we are to go along with so many things just because we heard it from a "trusted source". He could have used how bacon became a staple of breakfast, but obviously the fluoride thing was far more sensational. Or how heavily subsidized the dairy industry is to the point of having caves filled with cheese. I think his refusal to come out from behind the curtain and confirm he's alive is just his way of ending his channel how he wants. I hope he will come back under another moniker or produce content in other ways that is fulfilling to him, but ultimately it's already been confirmed he's alive. I'm not a fan of suicide baiting either, but given all the setup he did for this (removing live streams so only his final stream and the "Rusty Cage Is Alive" streams, the entire narrative arc of the series strongly pointing to him being who's on the guillotine in the end, the references to death and rebirth), I don't feel that's the case here. I feel that Keemstar and overly obsessed fans took the wrong meaning of it all and ruined what would have been a fitting end to the edgelord (because he played with knives, he's an "edgelord") of KZbin's career.

I’ve been watching him once and a while for a while now… that is kinda shitty to keep people in the dark, but when I saw it I know what he was doing, and I think most people who even kind of watch him knew too, so it was blown out of proportion.

I've been watching his Guillotine series, and while I really loved watching it, I will admit it's hard to tell what is in and out of character at times. His songs were how I found him, but this was the first content I really watched of his that wasn't already made long before I saw it. That said, I'm new to his specific brand of content, but I find it enjoyable. As for thoughts on the ending, while I think this was primarily made for the audience that understands this series of videos and Rusty Cage as a whole, this is a public space, so people who aren't your audience will occasionally see your video and react. I really feel like it's just shock value and nothing more like he just wanted to end the series with a decapitation but wanted it to just barely get on to KZbin; I do see how the series has been leading up to that. I could, of course, be wrong. I'm not entirely privy to Rusty or his past as a whole; I'm just giving my thoughts.
