It's all just political propaganda. It's not about the people it's about some rich dude's political campaign. Drug charges will vary depending on what someone is trying to push as his political campaign. Like how LSD being way less harmful than weed yet weed has been legalized in many places because someone was trying to get votes by pushing that as a policy. It all doesn't matter. The people who are the most affected by those policies are the last people they care about when making those said policies.

Forcing people into recovery isnt going to change anything in the long run, nobody has ever recovered from addiction without deeply wanting to. @@C_555 if you are forced to quit and go through with rehab, even if you mentally arent ready to quit, as soon as you're finished with rehab you will crave that drug so much because to you, you're not finished with it yet. people only are mentally ready to quit drugs like heroin and meth when they are driven to their limit mentally and physically, and a flick switches in them. those who are ready to quit will still have cravings for the rest of their life, but their mental fortitude against giving in is stronger.

i would say there is a good chunk of people who, if had the resources, genuinely do want to quit, however i would also conversely say there is, unfortunately a great deal chunk of people who have no interest on improving themselves. those people, unfortunately cannot be helped, but for either case, yes i agree, forcing them into rehab will literally do nothing, i just think we should have the resources out there for the people who want to get better and volenteer into rehab.

The American drug problem will never be solved unless the American system is fundamentally changed. There are no social safety nets in America like there are in Europe, you are expected to bear the responsibility of your own bad decision by yourself. Social safety nets require heavier taxation, which most Americans are not interested in.

As someone with really bad chronic pain, I've been asked about being prescribed opioids and turned them down faster than they could finish the question. Shit is terrifying, had an uncle who committed suicide at 30 because of that shit. I'd rather be on something weaker and still in pain than dead or a zombie
@ChristopherGray00
@ChristopherGray00 2 ай бұрын
correlation does not equal causation, substance addiction comes from a variety of other predispositions that play into how an individual will react to a certain stimli. this is why you often can tell the difference between someone who is on a prescribed opioid, taking it as indicated, and a fent addict on the street, same goes with amphetamines, even methamphetamine itself is a legally prescribed drug, preclinical studies have been ran on it, people have been on it for years, and had no problems, meanwhile you see disaster if you look on the streets with people adidcted to the same exact compound. we don't say alcohol is inherently bad and evil because it CAN be abused and it CAN cause addiction, we say use responsibly, if you do decide to drink, and before you start saying alcohol is no comparison to other hard drugs, it absolutely is, statistically alcoholism is about on the same level as opioid addiction rates, it is a strong gabaergic substance.

Before I watch the video I have a theory. Correct me if I'm wrong but America is free and we can travel all around the country. Am3rica is basically equivalent to the continent of Europe. Each state is like a country however in Europe there are many more barriers for travel like language for instance. So the only reason it fails in America is because the addicts from around the whole country migrate to these places that claim to have the best/most support. Something that CANT be done in Europe(especially for addicts)

Even Chinatown use to feel so much safer when I turned 21 and was djing in the clubs, could walk in and out of the clubs with my gear by myself no issues, not the same anymore. Seeing people smoking fentanyl, or any drug for that matter has become common occurence, even branching out to the suburbs nearby. Since the riots a few years back, many businesses boarded up and never came back.

I think it's a cultural issue to start with... When you take drugs it exacerbates your perceptions.. People in the other parts of the world, outside of the US, are much more respectful, laid back, and accepting of other peoples' opinions and cultures. Today's youth in America are all about ME ME ME and I WANT I WANT I WANT and I DESERVE I DESERVE I DESERVE ... so, you mix that with drugs and all of a sudden you have someone who doesn't give a fuck about you, your property (car, house, phone, land etc) and they are ready to fight you at the drop of a hat for little to no reason, even when they're completely sober ... then you mix in drugs... oh boy... just 1000x worse... and then on top of that, you have a governmental problem where the jails are already full to the max as-is, and a society that hates law enforcement and nobody wants to be in law enforcement and / or spend the money on convict and new jails and court trials. They want to lock them up and throw away the key, but they don't want to pay the taxes to do so, they don't want to apply for the jobs to do so, and to top it all off, we have a police system that doesn't support the individuals one way or the other -- they won't throw them in jail, and they won't give them a support structure to get out of the hell that they're in.... It's all fucked.

I think if all drugs were legal but you were required to go to a psychologist or psychiatrist every once in a while will both reduce drug use and second massively reduce the black market for them.

They recognized that the main reason people use drugs is not because it is illegal, but because there are problems that need to be addressed. And yet, for some reason, without any movement to increase people’s responsibility, they are trying to save “adults” when a real tragedy has happened to children.

the difference here is that the states cant do it alone, it needs to be the whole country and it has to be planned with safetys and boundaries in place to get people out of addiction instead of giving them clean paraphanelia. its sad to say but that dude in the wheelchair is right. some people get the privelege to come back from rock bottom, while others choose to just never turn their life around and die. it seems harsh, but the only way to quit is by your own decision. plus when you legalize in only one state like theyve done, homeless move to these places to enjoy their drug of choice without reprecussions. it happened when they legalized weed, and they had to know itd happen with the hard shit.

Opioids is a double blame. It's need for severe pain and some constitution allow people to be pain free as a right. The problem with opioids is that with removing the pain, it give a sense of hapiness and calm. When the pain finish by disapear by it's own, people miss the feeling and then come the addiction.

It takes time to settle. ANY time you decriminalize something, people go overboard with it for a while, and that's especially true with drugs. It's no different that someone that's always reliant on their parents being independent for the first time. It takes time to learn how to take care of yourself.

The fact that we would rather decriminalize and support dangerous drug habits by providing ways to do the drugs instead of putting that money into recovery support for addicts is amazing. There is an equal balance here but neither side wants to do what’s actually right.

This is very simple to me. You wouldn't(or shouldn't) allow people to cut themselves because it might make them feel "good" in that moment. Though obviously not all drugs are as destructive as that, and I believe that all things should be taken in moderation. I don't believe my tax money should be used to facilitate someone's recreational drug use.

The bonsai tree comparison is actually a good comparison. America has more people on drugs than other countries do and so it’s easier for other countries to get a handle on things. Not saying if we had a less dense population we’d be better, bc we wouldn’t. Our system and the fundamentals we’ve already put in place need to change before Anything. America has more drug users and that’s bc Americas known for being the most lax, known for freedom and most importantly over popularized. America is focused on waaay to much. Meaning there’s so much attention on what we do. Like, You don’t hear about there being crackheads in the Middle East do you? There’s no crackheads in Japan. It’s only America. The stereotypes (which have always been true to a certain degree) have only caused an uproar of people thinking it’s acceptable. I don’t think there’s as much drug use in other countries as there is in America bc of the way they don’t throw around those terms they way we do. We’ve normalized making jokes (making light of the situation) on the matter rather than showing our disgust. I truthfully believe if any of those people had the same life, same struggles, everything was the same, but was simply born and raised in a different country. They would NOT be on drugs. it’s bc in those counties the people that live there don’t normalize phrases like “crackhead” and make jokes like we do. They find it unacceptable and repulsive and so people are less likely to end up in that position. that’s what I genuinely feel like keeps people from doing it. We also don’t have just crackheads but now a wave of young men thinking it’s cool to pop percs. It’s not. Let’s be clear😂 but other countries don’t have that normalized for them. Bc people over there don’t make jokes about that shit and they genuinely don’t find it acceptable. if we didn’t have rappers promoting that shit we’d be in a much better position as a country. Bc there’s really not much difference between yourself popping a perc and the crackhead down on the corner. You’re enabling drug use bc you think it’s cool and yet judge the homeless man who just couldn’t get himself out of that position. This is truly a Failed country
