The fact that Amos Lee finally got a chance at free speech and IMMEDIATELY turned to “pedophilia is actually good and you’re suppressing my free speech if you think I’m wrong” is WILD to me. Like this man had an opportunity to make some real change and he just threw it away

He was literally given so many opportunities it's crazy. When you delve into his story, you find out just how lucky this guy is. And nearly every single time in his life he just throws it away. Throws away potential acting roles. Throws away his friendship with a director by calling him a pedo (Ironic), and throws his opportunity to be known as a free speaker, respected by thousands, supported by organizations and FREE in America, for pedophilia. The thing he's falsely labeled everyone else as.

A Singaporean here to provide more context to Amos Yee (that's how his last name should be spelt btw) You aren't wrong to say that he was trolling to test the limits of free speech, considering his most infamous video was mocking one of the founding fathers that help improve the livelihood of people living in Singapore. He deliberately uploaded the video just a few days after Lee Kuan Yew's passing which is already not a good look. Not to mention he even started off the video in an extremely disrespectful manner saying "Fuck yea, Lee Kuan Yew is finally dead" It's no wonder why his video would flop terribly. It's good to criticize the people running your country especially if they're doing something extremely stupid or nonsensical, but in such a disrespectful manner and the person is a well respected individual that others admired and respected? That's asking for backlash.

They can't take the body since it's a crime scene now, instead of usual paramedics the police forensic medical examiners will take it, they will apply autopsy as well (since cause of death isn't natural one). And about leaving murder suspect alone, they took all information they needed, they gave it to the police officers right after they left, so they don't need to risk their life by standing next to the drunk dude (or trying to arrest him) and a dead body. P.S.: But I must agree that criminal laws here in Russia is indeed strange, for example - you'll get lower sentence for murder than for rape. But at least you'll get 25 to life for most crimes against minors. Also if you kill not one, but two people (doesn't matter if it was done in one criminal act on the same day and place, or it was different murder at some other time), you'll get 25 to life or just life sentence, still don't know why the difference is this big. Oh yeah, and females in Russia can't be sentenced to 25 to life, or life, they also can't be contained in high or maximum security prisons, so yeah, even if a woman will kill a hundred people, or hundred minors, she will be set free in 20 years at most.

Something interesting related to Mr Anime: depressed people are often seem to "get better" right before they kill themselves. This is because they have a sense of relief after they make a plan. It's possible that Trey felt relief after he decided to commit murder. Maybe he was planning to kill himself as well before backing out, so he seemed to be in a much better mood in his last video. Just a thought, may not be the case.

Without going into too much detail, I was a victim at the age of 14, and the idea of taking it to the police terrified me. And my groomer was an average dude. Jones was a minor celebrity with a large teenage girl fanbase. Their courage stopped his predation and prevented him from manipulating other girls into becoming his victims. It's legal for a 14 year old to sleep with other people younger than 21. With 16, those rights expand to older partners, as long as there is no exploitation or paid services are going on. Also with 16, many people start working full time and are allowed to drink light alcoholic beverages, such as beer or alco-pops. Under special circumstances, some can get their car drivers license. with 18 someone has full freedom. Edit: typo

The most tragic part of the girl who froze to death on a Russian stream is that she could have been saved if her POS boyfriend had called emergency services immediately. Numerous medical studies support this but the simplest way to explain it is with this quote from an ER doctor "We've learned that there is no temperature too cold that resuscitation shouldn't be attempted." Extreme cold not only slows respiratory processes it slows brain processes as well, including potentionally slowling down the bleeding in her brain from the beating her boyfriend gave her. If she'd be taken to hospital immediately I think she likely could have lived.

Just to clarify, as an ER doctor. A pneumothorax isn’t from “air leaking out of your lung,” it happens when you have an infection or barotrauma or penetrating trauma that causes a build up of air in the pleura space between the chest wall and the lung. Very rarely would someone with this be sent home. So yes, he would have chest pain and shortness of breath and etc, and he would likely be in an icu for monitoring and daily chest xrays +/- a chest tube.

Reeflay's story is actually so much worse than described here. Not only did he wait a disturbing amount of time after bringing her in to call paramedics (he dragged her inside and left her on the sofa, not dead but clearly dying), when EMS arrived they spent a significant amount of time chatting on stream, ignoring his girlfriend in the background. The woman first-responder was cordial with Reeflay and entirely unimpressed with the girl's condition, as she inquired about his streaming and almost completely ignored talking about the girl. This was all recorded, and as far as I know nothing happened to the first-responder, even though she contributed to the delay in medical attention by actively ignoring the victim. Russia is fucked up ten ways to Sunday, and this is just a small example of the cultural decay the country is suffering from.

It’s pretty rare you get actual help in prison, especially the higher security facilities. It’s obviously good he didn’t act on the second thing, but he did awful things and obviously deserves to be where he is. Maybe he’ll get put on some kind of meds that’ll help him, and find a routine in prison. Maybe try to do some good. But prison isn’t exactly somewhere that reforms people. Sometimes it can help ppl just by being rock bottom, like an addict or someone who’s out of control and quickly approaching addiction. Especially if you’re young. The police intervention can turn things around sometimes. If it’s a non violent crime, ideally they end up in an inpatient rehab facility instead of jail/prison…and after that they keep going to therapy and NA/AA or w/e.
