I think my favorite thing about these reactions is to see everyone freak out not over banjo and kazooie at first, but at the jiggie. The shadow and final reveal only increases the hype, but doesn’t cause it in itself. It’s fascinating that a a simple golden puzzle piece is so important, so recognizable, that it gives such a definitive reaction in a split second. That’s what you call good art direction in games!

I will always come back to these videos as memory. When i was little I would play banjo tooie on the n64. So when i first watched the trailer. I was oblivious when i saw king k assuming it would be dixxy kong or lanky. The millisecond i saw the jiggy i teared up. I didnt yell but i cried because of this. And the thing that made this reveal the most special one out of every single one i ever seen, was that it was on my birthday. AND he released THE SAME DAY. My heart was in the best place possible. the memories :)
