I don't care what anyone else says, this game had a lot of heart and a cast full of wonderful characters, Papyrus being my favorite. Doing the Genocide route and killing Papyrus is the saddest, cruelest part of game. He literally still believed in you that you could be a good person in his final breath. That's fucked up.

Killing Flowey is understandable. Killing Asgore? well . . the game builds up that it's either you or him. Killing Undyne? More iffy, but one could argue she attacks you first. Yeah, Sans never blamed us for killing anyone except Toriel or Papyrus or killing monsters that intended to kill us. The LV we gained after killing just to protect ourselves isn't enough to get us condemned by Sans. He understands that we're just defending ourselves.

Pretty sure that like at least half of the players killed Toriel their first time around if going in blind, me included. There is just no signs of what are you supposed to do, scary goat lady throws fire at you and demands that you prove your strength, spare option is seemingly not available, talking gets you nowhere and like... That was way too much pressure for a first boss fight encounter! I remember thinking "maybe it's like pokemons, you need to lower her health and then she'll give up". That actually works on regular monsters too, you can attack them a couple times and then they'll be yellow so you can spare them. So, seems like a reasonable strategy, and then she just dissolves into dust and the only thought left is "holy shit, that's not like pokemons, that's not like pokemons at all, why, why, why, that's not what I wanted!". And then I found out that her flames are starting to avoid you when you're low on health and you have like all the time in the world to figure what you need to do, and that made me feel even worse. And then that god damn flower shows up and is all like "I know what you did" and then I just broke down crying because holy fck you stupid plant, did you really need to rub that in?! I didn't know, ok?! I didn't know that repeatedly stabbing people with a PLASTIC knife turns them into dust! I didn't kill anyone before that, I didn't know how that works at all, I was more like expecting a kill/spare choice button when their health is on zero not immediate "whoosh, I'm one with the wind now!"... I played the game more than 5 years ago and now one comment triggered all this memories and I'm runting like this and feeling it all like it was yesterday! Toby Fox is a genius. Undertale is a supreme game and it never stops to amaze me.

For those who feels bad about having the kill Papyrus in the Genocide Route, here’s an advice to continue down this route. You can time the attack bar all the way at the side of the target, aka be waaaay off timing, and with the tough glove equipped, just punch him once (not 4 times). Yes, even with a lot of hesitation and willingness to minimize the damage done to him, he will still die in a single hit, but that’s the best way I can show remorse or pity to him while continuing down the Genocide Route.

Now, I shall tell the tale of: *the TRUE original sin* Once upon a time in heaven ( when god finished creating the universe and stuff), Toby Fox, a very intelligent being, decided to make undertale. When he did, everyone in heaven enjoyed playing undertale. The angels loved to see such wonderful characters with depth, meaning, and potential. God especially enjoyed undertale, for it could teach humanity to love, and have pure intent. But the one everyone adored the most was papyrus. Oh, sweet papyrus. Such a blessing to the world. He was the highlight of heaven itself. But then, one horrid day, satan, a Jhinn ( look, I’m Muslim ok?! Some interpretations say he’s a Jhinn , some say he was an angel. Either way, he still impacts the story the same way), was revealed to be jealous of the undertale cast, ESPECIALLY papyrus. He claimed that he was made of fire, whereas the cast was made of nothing more than a bunch of pixels. God was displeased, and commanded satan to bow down towards Toby in apology. Satan refused, saying that he would never bow down to a mere mortal. God finally lost it, and literally YEETED satan our of the gates, telling him to go and never return. Satan pleaded to god, vowing that by the time judgement day comes, no one would even CARE if the undertale cast died. Then, he asked god for permission to make people do bad stuff, and god agreed, knowing that in the end, a lot of people would follow the right path and not do the cursed genocide run. A few days later, Adam and Hawwaa ( AGAIN, I’m Muslim so forgive me if you don’t recognize this character. It’s just Eve in Arabic), we’re playing Undertale, when satan came tip toeing along and whispered the unholy act that brought us where we are today: “ hey, I know what you could do! Why not do genocide and kill papyrus? Aren’t you curious about what happens if you kill the entire underground?” And Adam was like: “hmm... that’s a WONDERFUL idea!” And Adam proceeded to genocide. When he got to papyrus, he found that papyrus was different. He spared Adam, unlike the other monsters. But then, without warning, faster than anybody had ever sped.... papyrus.... was gone. Just like that. But god had seen what had gone down. He saw: *the original sin* He was like: “DUDE!! Why would you DO THAT?!” And cast Adam and Eve out of heaven, for they had both sinned, by killing the most beloved character in undertale. But: there was a catch. If they repented,and did a pacifist run, they would be forgiven. So they did. And they were. To this day, we have two options: 1. Spare papyrus and live out life peacefully in heaven. Or 2. Kill him, and burn in hail. The end and stuff
