Yovana is a Mexican-American wellness and healthy living content creator & in addition to sharing her life on social media, she focuses on self-love, self-discovery, and living a balanced life with her family. Today, Yovana joins us to discuss all things raw veganism, how it negatively affected her body, what she's learned about herself since incorporating animal protein into her diet, and how to deal with an internet scandal. It’s because she kept pushing detox and cleanse diets, books, and challenges all while feeling sick. Why on earth would you not be upfront and honest?

She’s upset she got backlash because she wasn’t transparent about her health struggles on a vegan diet… that’s not cancel culture, it’s the reaction you get from people when you lie to them.

I understand how you see it but being there I can tell you that there is a point where you know you have to be transparent but don’t know how for the fear of losing. For her it was more about losing money, it was her life in many ways. The point is that she is transparent now and has learned her lesson. Blessings to you 💫

@@loumartinez7717 I didn’t say anything about her not being transparent now, tho coming clean wasn’t something she did by choice, so I see no reason to give her credit for it. We simply can’t know for how much longer she’d have kept lying, we just know that she did, despite knowing full well that the diet she was promoting could create serious heathy concerns. I have an issue with downplaying her actions and the framing of it all as her being a victim of cancel culture. She’s as much a victim of cancel culture as Belle Gibson and Freelee The Banana girl.

I feel like she was pretty honest in this podcast and even said those are the consequences of her not being honest up front and not being transparent from the get go.

@@ArlinAmelia She’s transparent about what she eats now because she’s been forced to. Framing it as they have (her being a victim of cancel culture and of the crazy raw foodiest community) when she shilled those diets even after having healthy complications from them, is what I have a problem with.

No dears, it was not about a pumpkin or sweet potato. She was SELLING this life style, she was making money selling a life style that was damaging her health and she continued doing so even after being exposed.

36:52 “ You have to be able to change your mind” I’m so proud of YOVANA. She’s grown in so many levels. I was part of her team or a while and she is one of the most generous and kind people I know. Her mistake was huge because we all saw it. She eventually owned it and grew from it. Blessings to all who is reading this. 🌸

This is a tough one. I’m glad she’s feeling better and if she is who are we to question that. But what she did promoting a different lifestyle and monetizing off of that when she wasn’t following the same is not okay. When it comes down to it everyone makes mistakes and I do believe she is a good person who just messed up. I mean don’t we all at some point in our lives?

The hosts seem to think rawvana is the victim?? She told people if they cooked their food they would be in poor health meanwhile she was sick. She was a health influencer not just a food one. If it wasn’t for the health stuff her diet change wouldn’t have gotten so much outrage. Also, she didn’t come forward she was exposed.

My health was SEVERELY damaged by people like HER! I have no hate in my heart, but I do wish KZbin influencers like her were more REAL and HONEST about their struggles in the moment! I could have saved my self from YEARS of guilt, shame, and feeling sick!

Kind of grossed out with this guest who defrauded the vegan community, made a lot of income from the vegan community and her vegan platform, when she wasn’t following that lifestyle. She was a huge disappointment, because of her selfish lack of transparency and truthfulness. Not a fan.

I understand what you are saying. But..from my personal experience..hormonal imbalances are because of insulin resistance. You ate lot's of fruit and sweet raw stuff. I did the same and don't have period for years. I was almost fruitarian and i also follow Dr. Graham diet (80/10/10). Lot of fruit and low fat diet. When you start to incorporate more protein rich and fat-rich foods, your period came back. So lot's of sprouted legumes, nuts and seeds, nut butters and even cold-pressed oils like olive oil or coconut oil, avocados... 🙂

As a vegan Latina, I don't promote veganism. It's a personal choice and personal journey. If you feel your health is not improving with veganism then it's normal to change it a bit. I also hope those that do become vegan take supplements because I didn't and it affected my bone density. It may not be realistic for everyone to go vegan but one thing for sure is that most people over consume more meat than they should. But vegans can also be unhealthy if they don't watch their intake of vitamins and minerals. Everyone wants to help the environment and also be healthier. The more conversations we have on how people can improve their health and be transparent about their health issues--that can lead to a better future for people to participate realistically in reducing pollution and health risks. Judgement doesn't help anything.

Don’t go vegan for the animals because they doesn’t mean health. Go vegan for your own health and do it smart not eating vegan junk foods. A side effect is less animals die. If a persons health isn’t the number one reason they eat that way then they will tend to eat vegan junk and diet will fail and they will go back to whatever they did before …. Out of desperation…. Learn what a healthy vegan diet really is and its high greens and Dr weeds and sprouts and fruits and even superfood like sea moss or cacao and nuts and fruits and juices. No vegan cookies or pastries or prepackaged fake meats period. Those are not healthy at all…. Our bodies are the Prime importance

No. So the current apologist excusist mantra is - " oh we cut out the alcohol the blah the blah - it wasnt the vegan diet that made me feel better so - cheese! bacon! fish!" - omg. Its a well-known fact the minute u quit meat dairy eggs fish - you feel better. Some vegans still drink their socks off but they by and large feel better. There's no doubt about it but drinking will also wane on a vegan diet as studies have shown meat encourages alcoholism. Cos carnivores just aint feeling good. And they all suffer guilt so excuses and justification become part of their repertoire. We are a frugivore great ape species and Im afraid the biblical excuses for harming and farming animals dont wash. Yovana looked a whole lot better when she was Rawvana. Just saying.
