For anybody who wants to go vegan: try looking into what you can eat- instead of what you can’t. Just search for some vegan recipes and have a meal plan for a few weeks. My doctor constantly compliments me in exaggerated ways, for example once she said my genes are some of the best she has seen after running a panel to see what medication would work best for me. Obviously that’s probably not true, but she wanted to emphasize the positive results of the test. It’s probably not true that this person has the best of the best blood results, but it’s well within the realm of possibility that the doctor said they have some of the best results they have seen recently. You don't have to get calcium from milk, but we still need calcium. Your bone matrix is made of calcium. Muscles don't contract without calcium. Encouraging no calcium consumption is a bad idea, and green leafy veggies are lot a good source (look at a list of calcium sources vs the RDA on the ODS calcium health professional fact sheet). You need at least a few good sources of it a day, if not almond milk, soy milk, oatmilk, tofu, you can take tums or have a supplement. I am an MEd RD LD and do not agree with her saying calcium makes bones weaker. That would not be a largely held believe or accepted interpretation of the science in the field. I do agree it doesn't have to come fr dairy.

Good for you (and us)! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Where others would say "What difference does race make?" I would say make sure you focus on those things that are unique about us [black people](since many don't care to acknowledge this about us) like the fact that melanin makes us more prone to low vitamin D levels and that we need a lower recommended dose of sodium because we may have a gene that carries a higher sensitivity to sodium which may contribute to high blood pressure. This dietitian may know this but failed to mention any of this so not to offend anyone who might say, "What does race have to do with it?" Then again maybe she doesn't. Well just adding that focused knowledge under your belt will make you stand out as a dietitian. Anyone who wishes to silence those who tailor information for us are part of the problem. @@paramountofpuns6913 I know people make claims to be nutrition specialists without merit but a Clinical Nutritionist & Dietitian can both hold B.S. degrees & sit for the dietetics registration exam to be a R.D. & licensed to practice. Some may disagree with the large food processing corporate influence bankrolling the professional organization & the colleges thereby muddying the scientific data of the studies they finance so they prefer not to join or even practice in medical practices where insurance may decide what & when to cover nutrition services. That is why functional nutrition came about. It's best to check credentials before taking advice from any medical provider - nurses are another provider we must ask for credentials since everyone from nursing assistants to LPNs, BSNs, RNs NPs & PhDs all fall under the category of Nurse and work together in every department but have various levels of skills, specialization & yet are essential to quality patient care. However, the longer even a nurse assisitant has been in the field may have better equipped them than a newer advance care nurse fresh out of school though.

I've been a vegan for six years. Back when I used to eat meat, every so often I'd get that horrid backlash of vermin that would come up in my mouth. Although I brushed my teeth and used Listerine, it still happened, but not long after I became a vegan, it went away. I haven't experienced that nastiness in 6 years, and I do not miss it. I think it was a way of showing me that it is wrong to eat animals. Yes, I am a vegan, but no it's not for the diet. Rather, it is because I truly do love animals, and I am against all torment. It's my personal protest against all torment.
@joym88303 жыл бұрын
I'm going to go vegan for at least a year and have a question about eggs and honey. What if you find a local farm where there animals are treated well and have plenty of access to good food, would it be okay to consume eggs and honey from there? Thanks for your response!
@guitarttimman3 жыл бұрын
@@joym8830 What was done wrong is the entrapment of any beings including us. Believe it our not, there are beings who are responsible for doing it, and some of them truly are playing an evil game with us. Consider the discovery of gases that seem to just magically appear to be sprayed out from another dimension, and then swirl to make stars. There are definitely unseen beings who are very much responsible for our existence and that of others. We cannot fight back against what we can't see, so what's the next best thing? Protest! If we give them an excuse, they will rip our skin. Look at the horror we already have to face. For some of us, maybe not at this time, but definitely later in life. Should we prove these beings to be justified by purposely harming less fortunate beings, or should we protest and start utilizing science as a tool to work towards stopping all torment on our planet? I choose the latter. Even if we can never achieve that goal, by working towards it, we certainly are making a statement that it's wrong for those beings to be doing what they are doing to us. Only an indolent minded person would think that there's nothing that's responsible for our existence. That's asinine! Everything comes from something, and so did we and the rest of the living creatures on our planet. About the farm. I'm going to leave that choice up to you. Indeed, even the act of eating is a protest. We eat because we protest against being murdered by starvation. Or at least that's how I feel about it, but now that I'm aware of what those poor animals have to endure, I choose not to ever eat them again! I don't condone imprisonment, torture, and murder. That's also happening to us, but in a different way. What was done to us here is wrong, and I choose to voice my opinion against it by choosing to do what's right.

I’ve been vegan for 10 years and this is perhaps the best video I’ve seen to share with non vegans, especially those who, despite all the horrors of farming, still resist. This succinctly and gently describes every food group, is packed full of information that is so quick and easy to absorb. There’s no wasted words, no rambling. In a very subtle way, this is quite a tour de force. Kudos to the dietician and her beautiful presentation because despite my zero attention span and already knowing it all anyway! , I watched to the very end. I will definitely recommend this to non vegans. Thank you x

Went Cold "Turkey " 2 months ago and I feel sooo good. Only positive things have come from switching diets.

Before going vegan I struggled with an anorexia eating disorder and my main sources of nutrition was a Paleo diet seeing as how I have celiac’s disease. I decided to try plant base after a car accident and I was shocked at the amazing results I was experiencing, I no longer felt any guilt when I ate food and I was able to actually eat more and I became a lot healthier! The inflammation in my body diminished and I actually reversed all my allergens to foods that I had been sensitive to, I recently found out that my plant base diet had actually healed my celiac’s disease! However I do choose to continue to practice out a gluten-free lifestyle here in the United States. I have so much appreciation for my plant base diet and would highly recommend others try it🙏 loved this video thank you for spreading truth🙏

Same, fixing my relationship with food by going vegan fixed my eating disorder. Ditching dairy also made my acne problem loads better. Can't wait till we can actually study the benefits of a plant based diet without the billionaire animal ag lobbyists shutting it down and spreading their own blatantly false propoganda.

Love this ! I became a healthy Vegan a year ago and now I’m studying to become a registered dietician. I plan to focus solely on a Whole Foods plant based Vegan diet. Your video is great and your skin looks amazing. Thank u fir the great video :))
