Hey uncle! I stumbled across your channel recently and have really grown to love your content and especially your driving! I can say I've learned many things just from watching you take corners with a bonus of your jokes and giggles that make the video so much more entertaining to watch. I have a question for you uncle! Many people can drive up mountains with not much problem but when it comes to coming back down it's very important to not overheat the breaks. I think it would be a great idea if you can show people the correct way or your preferred way of breaking when it comes to downhill descend. Love you videos uncle! Keep up the good work.
@stevenlim49215 жыл бұрын
Same like driving uphill. Brake before corner. On long stretch es of downhill use low gear for engine braking
@YSKhongDriving5 жыл бұрын
Hi Jage Man, for downhill, as Steven says, use your brakes sparingly. The objective is to brake hard, for a short period - this allows the brakes to cool down so that they do not overheat. Prolonged foot on brake pedal is bad because it makes the heat build up. Do not press gently and hold. Better to press hard for a short time then let go. As Steven said, use lower gears to keep the speed down.

@@ph-qu7dw came back to relive the video. Saw your question. Here's my experience with the car (1.5l non hybrid) so far: 1. Turn of Eco mode as it's consumes more fuel (I don't know why but I tested 5 times) Eco turn off will gives 50 to 80km more. 2. Pedaling on the gas is normal, didn't really need to care, if wanna accelerate, I'll just press harder and vice versa. 3. With no.2 stated, I drive city and highway everyday, average 2.5hrs drive, mostly 1 hr of smooth traffic, 2hrs of moving queue. System shows FC of 16km/l. Manual calculated 16.7km/l 4. But I change my wheel to 205/55/17 (17inch rim, 20.5cm width and 5.5cm tyre wall) right after I get my car to trade in stock rim at max price. 5. Fastest I get is 180kmph, outrun by a Myyi lol. 6. Still afraid to use pedal shifter most of the time, cuz I heard CVT chain are kinda weak and if broken will splatter into gearbox and make more damages. 7. Other than the big ugly gear knob and the extremely cheapskate radio unit. I like my car very much.

Uncle Khong, my city V spec driven downhill last week. After awhile (freq breaking), can feel vibration at the break. Overheat ka? How to avoid in the future? Thanks
@YSKhongDriving4 жыл бұрын
Vibration at the brake pedal - possibly an indication the ABS is working. If the sensation is something like it is not stopping the car as well as normal, that is an indication of overheated brakes
@YSKhongDriving4 жыл бұрын
You cannot avoid the ABS working. If it is a case of overheating, brake hard and for shorter periods, use a lower gear and keep the speed down.

YS Khong Sir you alwyss try to be nice in your review. All cars also seem nice so far.
@YSKhongDriving5 жыл бұрын
Nowadays it is hard to find a bad car. No matter what I say, the video doesn't lie. Ultimately it is about how it drives. How many airbags and safety systems it has is about cost and what appeals to you, and also the trim and other stuff that people find important. The purchase decision is based on belief, trust, knowledge and the size of the wallet.

This one and the jazz,which one is better in handling?
@YSKhongDriving5 жыл бұрын
I think they are very similar. Seems the City is slightly more planted because it sits lower.

How does it drive compared to Vios 2019/18/17?
@YSKhongDriving5 жыл бұрын
Both would be very similar. Very close, so will be hard to say which is better. The City may have the edge on power, but it will also depend on the CVT tuning.

Heard that toyota and honda are using same supplier on many parts, thats why the drive feeling is quite similar. Not sure true or not... But i feel the same.

You're right. City is slightly more powerful but Vios ride and comfort is better I think.

@@YSKhongDriving I am from India. Just found your channel and it is damn good👍. I am very confused between the vento and the city and unable to decide which car to buy.😅
@YSKhongDriving5 жыл бұрын
I think the Vento we are getting is made for India. Both the Vento and City are great cars. Latest City has been launched in Thailand: power is 122 PS and 180+ Nm torque, all from 1.0 litre turbo engine. That would be interesting.
@shivamchauhan97165 жыл бұрын
@@YSKhongDriving I don't think india will get the turbo petrol for the city when it is launched in India and I personally like the 2017 facelift compared to the new city. Anyway, thanks sir!

Which is superior between Vento 1.2 TSI or Honda City CVT?
@YSKhongDriving5 жыл бұрын
Hard to say. Vento has more torque, City has more features, and is more popular, also is lower priced.
