Great review. I just got my Decoy Pro 29 last week. A few rides in and I think it is every bit as good as the Levo Turbo Expert that I borrowed for a few weeks. The Levo motor is quieter. I also like the integrated electronics and iPhone app for the Levo... but the Shimano motor is way more reliable, the XT drivetrain is quite smooth, and I saved $2676 USD. The only items I didn't like out of the box were the saddle and the block lock headset. Otherwise, the Decoy is a solid build.

Just a general question, when I hired a turbo levo last year; I found eco gave too much assistance; does mission control now let you set level to make assist feel like 10kg non ebike? Which is best levo hardtail or scott aspect eride 930. MTB not my main hobby, can only afford sub £3000 & Scott/Specialized fav brands with local dealers. 🚴🏻♂️
@TheBikePilot4 жыл бұрын
Yes you can totally tune Mission Control on an Levo. I do t know the exact settings to negate the weight but it’s on EMTB Forums. You may want to get a second hand one for that budget. Sill tuneable..
@couplandsj4 жыл бұрын
Try the BLEvo app, it has dynamic adjustment of the power based on how much leg power you put in. I have mine set so that below 180watts of my leg power it just gives 1% assistance. One I start going over 180watts the motor ramps up to 34%. That’s in Eco mode. In Trail mode it’ll start at 35% and go to 100%. Fully tweakable to your needs. I’m not sure any other bike/app gives you this amount of control. Check out the forum for more details on BLEvo...👍

Better than the Specialized Turbo Levo SL Comp Carbon ?
@RobRidesEMTB4 жыл бұрын
Definitely a top competitor to the full fat Levo. But the Levo SL is a totally different bike, up to 6KG lighter but less power. Depending on where you are riding will make a BIG difference to your experience. For super big climbs in BOOST the YT will beast the Levo SL. But on more undulating terrain with shorter sharp climbs the Levo SL can hold its own. And over the motor cut off limit the Levo SL is much easier to pedal.
@julianassem27804 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Since I am planning to buy a new bike I do look for a „natural feeling“ - ebike also for long travel and trail purpose (less pure downhill). Thatˋs why I will probably stick to the Levo SL. I'm selling my decoy. The service out of Germany is none existing. God help me if I get a serious problem. E13 parts suck and they should never be on a bike. I'd rides well but the shimano motor is just agricultural compared to the brose. You get good spec on decoy but that doesnt offset the terribly bad service. They didnt even put my bike together properly and it changes gear like shit. Also there is some fudging going here as they NEVER come UK brakes set up so this is a press bike.
@MeMateBigDave4 жыл бұрын
It’s similar with Canyon, customer support is crap and I can’t be bothered to re-box and send to Germany for any repairs or service but it’s fine if you have a LBS that can help. That’s the bonus with Shimano motor being widely supported.

Matt X I got the same bike as in this video. Came yesterday. How has he got his charger boxed with the bike? Mine is still showing that it’s in Germany and hasn’t moved since Tuesday. Joke as I can’t use my new bike.

brassornament94 unfortunately buddy when couriers get involved it’s a lottery. It’s always a risk when you go straight to any manufacturer direct as they rely on another to transport to you It’s so bloody annoying but I’m sure they will sort it out ASAP
@mattx42534 жыл бұрын
@@JittyLaRoot because this is clearly a press bike. Fact his brakes arent a mess says so. Germany cant even be arsed to set the bike up for uk riders so you end up with a mess of hoses. The charger also tends to turn up when ever the other carrier feels like it.

Great videos as always rob! 👍 Im looking at one of these test rode lots of lots ebikes cube, Merida 140 trek focus etc tend to struggle with fit I’m 6 foot and and 14.5 stone, struggling to work the sizing out for these with other bikes it’s normally just the feel of the bike it’s ether to short or I’m a passenger on the some XL versions any advise fella? My stomping ground is the Lake District so I’ll be riding all sorts. I’m also looking at the spectral on I really like the direct sale option. But obviously not being able to get on one is concerning me.
@RobRidesEMTB4 жыл бұрын
I suspect at 6 foot you';ll be perfect on the XL - although nothing beats being able to test one yourself (which is a bit harder for a direct to consumer).

you put a nice filter on the videorender on the parts where you dont ride it - but it kills the real colour of the ghostship green - thats a pity, I would have loved to see that in reality

It’s almost exactly as you see in the video. Very light green, almost white.

YT warranty is a worry for me I think! Gonna be a right hassle if you've got to send that back to Germany. Their warranty takes long enough with normal bikes let alone ebikes.
@mrdog39204 жыл бұрын
For me too but they are string up a UK support center right now. Already had some dealings with the guy who is setting it up and he is great. Restored my confidence (almost) in dealing with YT after not great results with HQ. should make local warranty issues far quicker to resolve.

How tall are you to require a XXL frame? Just curious as I'm 6 foot 3 inches and trying to decide my size. 🍻
@andrewengland80214 жыл бұрын
On their website it says xxl is for 6'3 and upwards. I friend of mine has the xl he's 6foot and fits him. I'm 6'4 and have had a go on it. It feels ok although I would like to try the bigger one. Shame there's no way to test ride them. Atleast where I live there isn't. 👍

Glad to hear you think this is still a capable enduro bike I order this bike in the black magic version a few weeks ago and wanted the enduro but sold out so settled for this and plan on changing air cartridge out for 170mm in front how do you think that will change the feel of the bike? I’m more of an enduro rider and like my dh runs
@RobRidesEMTB4 жыл бұрын
I think it will slow the steering down, slacken it out, change the weight distribution a bit, and raise the BB height a bit. Maybe a 160mm would be a good compromise.
@TheBikePilot4 жыл бұрын
Hey Dustin. I’d ride it before committing to any changes. The whole design of this bike feels spot on and It feels like a longer travel bike than it is..Geo is spot on..
