Doddy is the boss! Hopefully these tips will help me set the wife's new Canyon Neuron ON up when it arrives!!! Keep up the great work guys, all this content has been helping me immeasurably through lockdown. Like many others I've been struggling quite a bit over the last few months so thanks dudes 🔥🤘

YES! I'm glad you used a Decoy for this demo, as I recently got a Decoy and felt kinda clueless when it comes to setting it up properly. This video helps... So much of setting up a bike (especially suspension settings) are making adjustments "depending on your preference" but my issue is, I don't really know what my "preference" is! It's hard for me to feel the differences...

Hi Scott, glad we could help! Experiment with a few different suspension settings and you will find your preference!

Doddy, you should let people know the forks ship with all three volume spacers in. For most people this is way to many. In fact on a pair of Fox 36, most people who aren’t really heavy might want one or none.

when you measure the rear sag, should you be sitting or in a standing attack position?

My Decoy arrived about 15 minutes after watching this (the day the video was posted...good timing). Super easy to put together except for a few things: Stem has T-25 torx bolts on it (manual states 4mm hex). Almost stripped one out due to that. Stem was on crooked (easy fix). Battery only had 1 bar on it (bummer, but still took it for a 3 mile test ride). Bike comes set up with tubes (WTF?) but they include tubeless stems to get it set up tubeless. Going to need to spend some time getting the suspension and general config set up once it's fully charged. Thanks for the video!

¡Mike B! Mine arrived with one bolt overtightened. Smashed the head when trying to loosen it. Still waiting for YT to send me new one... almost month without reply. That is disappointing i must say.

Great video. You did not talk about bar width. Most new bike come with about 800mm wide bars which I think is too wide. What do you think?
@anika98934 жыл бұрын
There is a great article by Lee McCormack about good bar width for you. Google it.

Can you please tell me at what occassions should i fiddle with the double settings on the fork. What is the difference between the two and should i for example lock both when riding on longer uphill? Maybe i am not really using it correctly .. so need som advice. Thx
@anika98934 жыл бұрын
No, read the manual to get the recommended settings for all the compression and rebound adjustments, then go a couple of clicks less on everything and a couple of psi more pressure than recommended in such a bike. Then just ride it until you understand what you feel.
@anika98934 жыл бұрын
You don’t / shouldn’t need to change settings on a ride, especially on an ebike.

Great 2 parter but Steve or Doddy never mentioned what the YT Decoy was like to ride and if they would recommend it.

I've got the Decoy Base 29. I used to have a Levo. The Levo has more power, especially climbing uphill. The Decoy 29 is more nimble and agile and feels closer to a natural FS. Definitely recommend.

Gloves man! The first thing to touch down in a fall is your hands. In summer I use fingerless weight lifting gloves which have a padded palm. Otherwise a very informative video.

Ebikes are the best thing to happen in biking for me yet also, the most frustrating when they break. Ebike vendors the world over need a loaner program of some type to stop the almighty cock block of waiting eons to get your bike sorted while the sun shines away. I'm talking specifically about warranty issues that can't be solved by the buyer.
@curtrichardson80024 жыл бұрын
I had the same issue, bought a backup bike.

Well did not cover quick release wheel lever position. noticed it was incorrect in part one. Secondly cycling without gloves is idiotic.
