It has been a very hard 10 years watching this, but you and the others have helped me get through it with your work that you do, and for that I thank you. Things are pretty stark right now, so a video or two from you guys might get by me without a comment from me- just know I'm still here and still rely on the laughs you provide. Peace, my friend

My father got horribly sick from cancer, but then we beat it only to lose him to sepsis. When he died, there were so many fluids pumping into him to keep him alive that he leaked when he died. All I could do was use tissue paper to keep some fluid from running out of his mouth and nose, but it just kept coming. I couldn’t stop it from running out and ruining my poor father’s last shred of dignity. My strong father just leaked fluid and then died. Hell, I don’t know why I’m sending this out into cyberspace, but maybe this makes you feel better. I’d trade my experience for yours any day, my man. It’s never good losing a parent, but maybe this can give you perspective on how bad it could be or might be otherwise. I’m so sorry for your family, you and your mother, but I’d give part of my soul to be able to spend the time with my father that you may get with your mother. Maybe you can make the best of it having read this. I hope it helps.
@magnified1114 жыл бұрын
tudburgler My God, sepsis. I’m terribly sorry to hear about that for you. My comment here was from 5 years ago, and obviously my mom has passed (she starved to death as is the norm for many with Alzheimer’s if no other complications cause their demise). However, she was not in a care facility, she was home amongst her family and knew who we were up to the end. 1 year after she died (3 years ago) I ended up on deaths door from sepsis myself, due to a rupture in my colon from diverticulitis....emergency surgery saved my life but it was very close, I was with a colostomy bag for a few months, then got better and they removed it. This world has shown me that suffering and death is the great equalizer and we are all subject to its work in our lives, my only motivation these days is to be there for my wife and kids, and for anyone else who may have need, whatever that true need may be, and of course to not fear death or suffering. Easier said than done for sure. My condolences for your loss, and your reply certainly stirred my soul before work this morning, and I thank you for that. May good things/blessings be with you as you were there for your father. You are a good and strong person in being there for him in his final days.
