a little more about the zanki deck, you can fuse a pyro with a warrior for flame swordsman. i highly enjoyed spamming bls and flame swordsman with 3 copies of tactical warrior and supporter from the shadows. throw in stop defense and shift, and you have some fun otk opportunities! this is basically how i played through my first time in the game, and i had an absolute blast. but it was really rough to start off, which is part of the fun. really happy you made this video so i can target new decks to enjoy the game with :]

Love the Boo Koo deck, you can reincarnate CopyCat or fissure for a 10% chance at shadow spell, 10% chance at Solomon's law book, a 5% chance at skull knight, and another 5.5% at Kazejin. Just letting UniPatcher install the mod and I'll be checking it out for sure!

It's such a shame that the early game of my favorite deck is balanced around choosing the Yorkist side, but what can you do, i'll try to succeed in a different way, i still love the mod and all the ideas within it

Good evening. Just downloaded the mod today and it’s really fun, albeit a lot more challenging then I first thought. I did have a quick question about the new Toon monsters the README page talks about, is there a separate document where these new Toon monsters are listed? Chose the Reaper starter deck and am interested to keep the Toon sub theme throughout.

Unfortunately the toon cards arent listed in the readme. It was actually too difficult for us to find an intuitive way to copy the Toon text onto monsters that didnt have it (believe me i know it seems like an arbitrary thing to have difficulties with, but we couldnt do it). I'm not sure if I have the toons listed somewhere, I thought I did. In the readme I think it tells you the amount of them so you can start tracking the monsters that are strong on toon terrain. I dont think there are any major surprises, basically anything that depicts a a clown or jester is strong on Toon Terrain (including Soul Hunter because it is a fusion result of the clowns), and also Baby Dragon/Thousand Dragon are strong on toon

Playing the Zanki deck right now, and it can fuse more than just Bean Soldier. It can also fuse Cyber Soldier, Punished Eagle, Flame Swordsman, and Queen of Autumn Leaves. At least, those are the ones I've found so far. Definitely a more challenging deck in the beginning though since the strongest beatstick I've been able to make with it is a 2600 Atk Flame Swordsman with Sword of Dark Destruction and Tactical Warrior, and then Tristan accidentally gave me a 3000 Atk Tactical Warrior with a Sword and Shield like a moron, but I don't really count that since that wasn't my fault. Other than that, you're entirely reliant on Swordsman From a Foreign Land's destruction effect should something any stronger pop up. But obviously, the more times you beat Tristan, the better the deck gets, so while it struggles probably a bit more to beat Tea and Tristan than some of the other decks, it at least snowballs rather quickly once you beat Tristan for the first time and continue to beat him.

This might be a silly/dumb question but is the redux mod a bad place to start with on getting into duelist of the roses? I know from the other videos on it the game is harder but also has some qol stuff.

For whatever reason I can't Reincarnate. I duelled 5 times but the reincarnation prompt never shows up.

It has to have been 5 total tallied duels (incl wins and losses) on the overworld map, since your last reincarnation, for you to be able to reincarnate. The other issue is you didnt have a full deck (it doesnt let you reincarnate unless you have a complete deck). Another possibility is the images in the deck edit screen hadn't finished loading yet - the game wont give you the option to reincarnate until your images load. This takes about 10 seconds on ps2, about a minute if loading through USB on ps2, its quite literally instant on emulator (especially if you're reading from an iso on an SSD or something). It would have been one of these things or a combination of any of them.

@@ClovissenpaiDotR That in itself I totally understand. If I'm understanding correctly, all cards are unlockable, so while you cannot be spammy early, you can earn those spammy cards. I have to say though, it's definitely difficult. Against Weevil for instance, you have to be extremely aggressive and attack early. Otherwise, you might be looking at 3 moths on the field. Any advice on a good starter?

I love this game despite its flaws but does his redux have improved AI or decks? After becoming even decent at the game, you realize the AI truly suck and the exploits are numerous Zombies are too OP and make the game too easy Next time, I think I will do a machine, pyro and sea deck

Sorry I've not seen this video, yet. I've been trying to summon up the courage to start writing novels again. I'm currently writing one in which the main character becomes a knight who is also secretly a pigman (it makes sense in context). At the current point in the story, he's playing a videogame similar to Skyrim or Darksouls and I thought it would be funny to include a sub-story in which a player with a toad-man martial artist character over-leveled himself to an absurd degree and defeated a raid boss by throwing a rock at it, which exploded like a tactical nuke. I think I may have made this guy too powerful. Anyway, this is a great video and I'll get to the others when I can.

You can actually. what you can do is start a new game on the vanilla version of the game, save before dueling anyone, then load into Redux mod with the same save file. it is effectively the same thing as playing the redux mod with original starter decks.
