The part near the end where you talk about meta versus fun is really a thing! every time i get into the meta of card games most of the fun is taken out of it, there's no longer that joy of getting a super rare card because in the meta it's trash or figuring out what works with other stuff but it's pointless because there's deck lists all over the internet that have optimized versions. You could talk about how the first season is more like playing D&D with cards. That's why they can do things like "attack the moon", because they're not only using the effect of cards, they're telling how the cards affect the field and interact with other cards (Umi + the Moon, Time Wizard + Baby Dragon, etc).

This is so nostalgic for me man. I got into Magic long after my youth with yu gi oh was over. I remember buying the structure decks like spellcasters judgement or the warrior one. It was one of the card games that was fun to role play because even the characters from the show do it too. Like the bug guy, the dragon guy, or even someone who uses zombies. Fun fact: In the videogames, if you summon Yata and get its effect off and the opponent has no card to counter it, they will concede. That is the ONLY way they can concede willingly. Well Yugi did play electromagnetic turtle which can stop attacks for a turn when banished from grave. Then he could've drawn cards of sanctity to get 6 cards in hand and then just win from there

1- Sangan doesn't special summon 2- Sangan errata was changed so that you cannot play the card or use the effects of cards with the same name as the added monster till the end of the turn 3- Spirit Monsters, unless special conditions through specific cards, cannot be special summoned

Ideas for future episodes: Early cards with weird effects compared to the later ones. The first thing that jumps to my mind is Timeater. Level 5, 1900 attack, if it kills a monster it skips your opponents Main Phase 1. Or how Dark Sage, Metalzoa, and Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon all special summon themselves from the deck by their own effects (the first one needing a coin toss, the other two Metalmorph.) Maybe some more censored card art analysis. Maybe a look at (not quite a review, or a lets play) of some of the earlier Yugioh video games (before they were able to fully translate the card game with monster effects and all). Top 10 favorites lists are always a winner, and easy to do.

To the people who want to support Tekking in his yugioh video: 1) If you want to see more of this kind of vids that type positive or funny comment rather than just posting comments correcting every little mistakes. It could get kinda annoying and contribute to only undermining the entertaining value of the video 2) One comments with enough like is already sufficient in correcting his mistakes and make him see it . Don't need to post more. 3) If there is a huge mistake that really needs correcting, rather than typing it out in a comment, just find a comment that already listed that mistake and liking it would suffice so tekking could see. You r not so special to be the only one who is knowledgeable in the game so rather there bounds to be one. If there is a correction that u feel is necessary and there isn't anyone mentioning it, just reply to that one post that was already correcting tekking that has tons of likes. 4) If you really want him to continue these yugioh vids please try to just be mature enough to not nitpick on every single minor mistakes.

After hearing your anime idea, I went through some cards looking for something yugi could have done in that situation And I found a card Yugi had in this deck that could break that (albeit one he used after splitting with YamI), being Apple Magician Girl, which would have allowed him to reflush his hand by adding up to 3 "magician Girl" cards from his hand to his deck That said, the best card to counter it, as far as I can tell, is A/D Changer, that has an effect that can be activated from the graveyard, allowing him to change an enemy monster's battle position. Using it, he could stop Yatagarasu from attacking, allowing him to draw a monster to defend himself

Good lord I still remember my first (and only) try out at a tournament. I won a few games against my friends and they convinced me to give it a shot. I was 11, and my opponent was super cool and taught me a lot until he switched gears and absolutely crushed me. I still respect that guy and hope to one day challenge him again.

9:40 Yugi would have died from the chaos emperors damage :D (when it triers it deals 300*X damage to the opponent) if you have starter life of 2000 or 4000 if points 6 or 12 cards on the field kills you with one shoot :D I would have see Yugis face that he cant draw a card. "I know how to top deck I know how to draw any card I wand but I cant draw T.T" XD

Since Sangan is a deck searcher, and only brings the card to your hand, not to mention Spirit Monsters can't be special summoned, the explanation of doing it all with CEDEOTE only works if Sangan was special summoned or on the field from the previous turn. Of course I still remember the first time I performed the Yata Lock, my way involved using Robbin' Goblin along with Yata to remove their hand. My favorite Spirit Monster though was Inaba White Rabbit, I found so many useful ways to torment my opponents with it, even in local tournaments. My favorite was to activate Scapegoat with an empty field at my opponent's end phase, then summon the rabbit, equip United We Stand, to the rabbit, hit them for 4700 damage directly, then Ring of Destruction the rabbit for game (before they errata'd RoD). Speaking of, Ring of Destruction might be an interesting video, it was big back in the day.

Tekking's defination of the heart of the cards is part of the reason I love yugioh so much it is to have fun. Yugioh I feel anyway was made to be a fun version of Magic which is a game for competition and cheap move which you can get screwed in really quick.

I have played the ever since the Samurai Warlord structure deck came out. I worked on the deck I put time,I put effort, I put money ,I put my soul into makeing this deck ,and with years and years of practice I am one of the best in my group of friends. The best part is it still grows and so my goal to make it better will never end. yo tekking, i made a spirit deck in highschool and accidentally locked my friend in what i dub the tsuki ama lock. it uses the amaterasu and tsukuyomi cards. first you summon amaterasu face down, then on your neck turn flip it, activate it's effect, banishing all other cards. then summon tsukuyomi to flip it face down again and tsukuyomi returns to your hand. rinse and repeat.

What you said about the heart of the cards really got to me. People playing the "efficant" way is what got my out of Magic: The Gathering. Had a group of friends that we had dumb fun with the game with decks we made out of the big starter boxes. But one day one of the kids showed up with a professionally constructed deck and just wiped the floor. Others followed suit but I didn't have the money, or really the want to follow them. So I just stopped playing and it makes me sad. It's a good dumb game that's ruined by a meta

Lightsworn is the only actual deck I ever made and it was in the gameboy game. Other than that I just enjoyed putting random cards I thought were good together into a deck that was usually a lot bigger than it should have been to be efficient.

Yugi's secret tech that would let him beat the Yata-lock - he somehow gained a bunch of life points beforehand, so Noah would have decked himself before the lock completed, and the turn he stops so that he can start doing something else to get a faster kill Yugi would draw some stupid card that lets the opponent draw and thus decks him.

Back in the day, they called that deck a Chaos deck, due to it being a mix of light/dark deck, I ran Chaos Emporer Dragon{CED}, Black Luster Soldier{BLS}, Yata, and so did literally everyone else. That being said, the stars would have to align for you to get CED to lead to a yata-lock. Honestly, I always preferred BLS for the removal. That being said, 90% of my yatalocks were created by using magic and trap cards like Forceful Sentry, Confiscation, Delinquent Duo, and monsters like Don Zaloog, and BLS to remove stuff from your opponents hand, so that the second they pull the yata, you wouldn't have any monsters you could summon. I've had yata locks occur, where they've had a full hand, just based off the fact that all they'd have are spells,traps, and the occasional Jinzo/Airknight Parshath(which was severly underrated... seriously though... 1 tribute light monster that had trample with a card draw everytime it deals damage?}

My fave lock-down combo is ground collapse, ojama trio, xing-zhen-hu. it isnt perfect and doesn't prevent drawing cards or setting spells or traps(unless 3 xing-zhen-hu are used on all previously occupied slots) but it does remove the ability to summon any monsters from the opponent since ojama trio hogs 3 slots and ground collapse seals the remaining two monster zones...though idk how effective this strat is in modern formats with ink cards and pendulum cards. Most updated mechanics I know of is synchro summons and xyz summons but still, having all 5 monster zones effectively sealed must be a nightmare to deal with under the right circumstances and it is a personal delight for me to pull it off

Best part is, Yugi wouldn't have even needed his main character plot powers to create a new bullshit card to beat Noah if he pulled off a lockdown, as that was the season with the Deck Masters, where you picked a monster from your deck to be a partner monster during the duel that could activate one or more special powers during the duel and even be summoned at any time regardless of summoning conditions, though you automatically lost if it was destroyed. Gotta appreciate the philosophy on the "Heart of the Cards."

Like, the cards based on other Konami licenses. Gradius, Goemon, etc. I know there are a handful of them, but I thought it might make for a cool topic that I don't see anyone talk about.
