oh i LOVE discussions and design elements about various forms of card advantage. While card draw may be the strongest, it is the least interesting; meanwhile card selection like Duality, Disparity, and Scrying are all much more interesting to me. YuGiOh could use more cards in and out of Archetypes that involve card selection, and we can see Konami pivoting towards that in game design, with cards like this and the new Chaos Synchro from ROTD

I feel dinos will use or experiment with this card, but extrav is better for them though. The +1 is too good to pass up for dino. However, if dinos get hit in some regard by the time we get this (Lets say Misc gets limited or banned), I could definitely see them replace extrav with this card. on the plus side, as I love and play ritual beasts, this is WAY better for them than Extrav since I can keep 2 Ulti-Kannahawk in extra deck, excavate top 6 to increase my chances of getting my starters faster than Extrav can do. Heck I think Myutants can use this since they need to get to the low level myutants or Emergency Teleport ASAP.

I agree about Ritual Beast! The Deck always needed draw or search power to start plays, and with Desires potentially banishing your combo pieces, Extrav' was the next best bet. But it really sucks when you banish all of your Cannahawks... Now, with Disparity there's nothing to fear, and the fact that you can get *exactly* what you need (a Tamer or a Beast) is SO GOOD, Extrav' was a bit too "random" for my taste. Other Decks I could see it be played in are Weather Painter (same reason as Ritual Beast, you need a combination of two cards ; Painter + Canvas ; to start your plays) and Dream Mirror (same reasons). It's like that card was made for me!

This card offers the opposite of what some players always complained about Desires: "Banishing 10 cards is too steep, what if I potentially banish my 1-ofs and 2-ofs?". The argument was always "you was never potentially going to see those 10 cards or you were just digging for +1 to potentially draw my side deck blowout. This new Pot removes potentiality, essentially ensures what seemed like potential and gives access to it and that's huge! This card is also must-negate for the opponent. Bad pun but i am definitely digging this card.

As an MTG player that watches YGO from across the table, we tend to value selection over raw advantage when the alternative is offered. Some of the most commonly used draw cards let you look at the top of your deck first for the option to put whatever's there on the bottom and draw something else.

Pot of disparity is really an interesting choice for decks that were not able to play a pot spell before due to the side effects of those spell cards. When I first read this, I was thinking stall decks, but Cimooo made a great point for combo decks. Pot of disparity is essentially a way to increase the consistency of getting to your key cards and enabling you to have options among 3-6 cards. I remember at times how pot of extravagance and pot of desires have cost players games because they happened to banish the wrong cards they needed in the game. Pot of disparity is basically safer in some ways and I think the side eff about reducing damage by half might actually make the game a lot more interesting. There will be a lot of talk when it comes to Pot of disparity. Like for example, should you play “Pot of disparity” or “triple tactile talent” in the main deck? I question this because often times I have been seeing tons of people playing talent 2nd eff just to draw 2 because the opponent played ash. The player in question is drawing 2 to in hopes to continue their combo, but it is not guaranteed. Now in that situation, pot of disparity would have a better chance of continuing the combo after an ash has been played. And let’s be real about something, it sucks if your combo stops because of infinite impermanence and you had Triple Tactical Talents in your hand. Pot of disparity = 5/5

This card causes Vietnam-style flashbacks to the Peer Through Depths arguments from MTG years back. In the end, it was determined that it was better in combo decks that needed specific cards to function, and that regular draw spells were better in control decks that needed more outs with which to respond. (Hopefully there won't be a Ponder vs Preordain style arguments here in the future)

Hey Cimoooooooo, This card has another weird usage that lets possibility you stack the top of your deck up to 12 cards (Though in a normal duel it'll probably only do it 5 or maybe 10 cards). Due to the fact "Pot of Disparity" lets you place cards in any order on the bottom of your deck, you can use "Convulsion of Nature", a continuous spell card that while on the field both player flip there entire draw deck over. As long as you don't shuffle, you now know your next 5 to 12 cards. Get lucky enough for both a "Pot of Disparity" and a "Convulsion of Nature", and you get not one but two cards of your choice by your next draw phase. As well, if both players we're doing this, two "Convulsion of Nature" do not cancel out the effect. What's your thoughts on this. Admittedly it's a weird combo, but it feels like it could do some interesting things in a fight. Edit: It's Convulsion of Nature

This card actually has me thinking that this might be a solid side deck option to side out your other pots and/or draw/search cards. Since you can side this in once you know your matchup and you can consider which ED monsters you NEED and which ones you can possible banish, on top of being able to search your kill spells/disruptions that are unsearchable. I think keeping desires/extravagance as the main deck staples and siding those out for this would be very strategic and increase the dynamic of the game. Can’t wait to see how this impacts the meta.

An interesting piece about this card to me (although it is niche) is the use of the term "excavate" as opposed to "reveal". In yugioh, I've come to understand excavate simply means to mill X number of cards from your deck to the graveyard. Now although the card says to return the cards you don't select to the bottom of the deck, say if you were to hit two Lightsworn Wulfs and a Judgement Dragon and you select to add JD, does the effect of Wulf being "excavated" override sending them back to the deck? Just interested if anyone had the ruling on that one

Couple of discussion points I think you missed: 1.) If you would end up picking either of the first 2 cards with disparity you would have been better off casting an extravagance instead. So therefore, disparity can only potentially be better 2/3rds of the time assuming you don't care about the random extra deck element. 2.) If your deck has alot of 3 ofs then disparity gets weaker, as getting any duplicates in the top 6 makes it essentailly as though you get 1 less look at the top of the deck.

From me this card was much better from draw 2. 1) lowest cost (at best even if you completely ignore extra deck) 2) more opportunity to play. You can search other cards first before active this. 3) extra cost of damage is ok. (this card is not good from otk/ftk decks. 4)6 cards was much bigger than 2. I mean If you looking from specific card this card is way better. But if you really need the extra card (e.g from discard cost) OK. So from small effect we not even ask.

At first when I read the card text I somehow thought it said: „Banish 3 or 6 cards from your Extra Deck then Draw the same amount of cards from your Deck“ now THAT would be really OP and probably get insta-banned 😂

Perhaps a useful card for my Time Thief. I'd rather use this than Allure Of Darkness. It would resolve a lot of my consistency issues.

I really think that outside of the side-deck point it's still worse Extravagance. When I'm building competitive decks I'm always trying out different ratios, but every card in there is going to be able to push and be useful to me. The only brick that comes up with any frequency is Nibiru in the main. So, sure, one specific card versus two non-specific cards, but if every card is very useful then the second card is enormously more important. I do agree it could be pretty useful in the side deck alongside removal when playing against Mystic Mine, Guru, etc.

I know how you get over the fact that things are being banished choose using 2 copies of burial from a different dimensional to get the monsters in your gy and then use jar of avavice get them back into the extra deck

I give it a solid 7/10. The real question is when we will get a card that just says: if you had no cards in your extra deck at the start of the duel draw 2 cards.

Also to add a bit data. When you go pot of extravagnace and you draw another pot of extravagance its awful. Whit this new pot you it wont happen.

The reason you'd still banish 3 and play it over Duality is that you can special summon that turn. That makes Disparity infinitely better and a playable Duality in modern yugioh.

Combo decks can almost ALL run this card since, if you just banish 3, you get a pot of duality without summon restrictions. Considering combo decks were throwing away $1200 on a play set of duality back in the day that slowed them down in order to get to key cards faster, I'd say this is really good and even big combos have at least 3 ED monsters that are expendable.

I feel like one downside of other draw cards you skipped is if you have garnets e.g. Red eyes fusion and you need it in deck this let's you dodge them over extrav or desires

0:58 Technically it's half Pot of Generosity and half Pot of Riches, but since Pot of Duality is half Pot of Greed and half Pot of Generosity, and Pot of Extravagance is half Pot of Greed and half Pot of Riches, it's basically the same thing.

Nice that you can still activate duality if you use this, this is a really good card, I can definitely get some good use out of it, though I dunno if running both this and extra will be a bit much on the extra deck.

Combo decks that could definitely benefit from this would be D/D/D, Rokket, Adamancipator, Sky strikers, Trickstars or basically any deck that would prefer a specific strong piece, this would not be an ideal option for something like exodia or Utopia which needs multiple pieces to work.

So its either draw two... Or pull a yami yugi and scan the top 6 of your deck and chosing the perfect card you want. Draw 2 or search the top 6 for mirror force or mystic mine
