My experiences with coming back to yugioh after a several year hiatus was I didn't like it until I learned it, then I liked it. I'm still way behind mostly with rulings and a lot of the new cards, but I'm getting there. Been back at in the game hardcore for about three years now and I just started really understanding link summoning. Crazy, but fun.

Pretty sure you were right the first time: having 1 monster gives 200 ATK with Dramatic Theatre. With 1 monster you control 1 type, “different” is voided here, when you have a Beast and Beast-Warrior, you have 2 different types.

No, the text's wording excludes the monster's own type from its boost. Having 1 monster doesn't work, having two monsters with the same type doesn't work. Only 2+ with different types work.

Near the end of the second duel, you were at 1200 LP and Sam was at 5400 LP. After you activated your Draining Shield to negate Sam's Performapal Sleight Hand Magician's attack and gained LP, you ended up with 7200 LP and Sam with 1200 LP. Then on your next turn you you attacked Sam and won the duel even though he should still have 5400 LP left. That was hilarious, you should let Sam know that you kind of scammed him of a victory with a secret LP swap. And Sam's reaction to all of this was "dayum son". EDIT: Is there some way you can change the colour of the arrows on your phone's LP calculator or something? It could help identify whose LP is whose so something like this doesn't happen again in future Duels.

Yes, the only way you'll normally see a Pendulum monster in the graveyard is if you had it attached to an XYZ monster and detach it, or you send it there with something like Foolish Burial, discard it to activate an effect, or someone negates your Pendulum summon with something like Solemn Judgement and they're not properly summoned.

When using draining shield at 1:05:14 the life points where added to the wrong side and where swapped round meaning that the other Guy went from 5400 to 1200 and you go from 1200 to 7200 meaning the other guy could of won overall

Damn... cant believe you did my boy Sam like that TGS, at 1:05:25 (roughly) when TGS activates draining shield, he swapped the lifepoints. Sam was at 5400, TGS was at 1200, TGS added the 1800 lifepoints to the 5400 and gave himself the wrong side of life points. Obviously wasn't malicious but dang, that sucks :(

One thing I don't like about pendulum monsters is how the card border is a monster color on the top half and green for spell on the bottom half, yet the top text box is the one that has the pendulum monster's spell effect and the bottom text box is the one that has its monster effect. I feel like it would be less confusing and make pendulums a little easier to learn if that were to be switched. Make the bottom text box the spell effect and the top text box the monster effect, or switch the border color scheme, so that these two aspects of the pendulum card match each other.

Pendulum summoning is a favorite mechanic, but I personally like Synchro and Ritual more. I like the theatrical feel of them. Though that may be because I like being theatrical when I duel. Just wish I could get my hands on all of the Normal Pendulum monsters, especially Igknight and the ones that support Normal monsters. Not the best, but I like the idea of making a deck around Normal Pendulum monsters.

Man this is my favorite series, I look forward to it every year. I can't wait for next year when we get to see link summoning Edit: actually I think the pendulum monster has to be face up to go to the extra deck (even if it's acting as a spell). If it's face down I don't think it goes there, just like if they are under an XYZ monster as overlay units they get sent to the grave, if they are sent from the deck or discarded they are also sent to the grave. Also they are always counted as monsters unless they are in the pendulum zones. So while in the hand, grave, extra deck, and deck they are just monsters.

Nope, if its on the field (face up, face down, or in the scale) it's sent to the extra deck. The only time on the field it doesnt go to the extra deck is when the summon is negated.

Only Links and Pendulums that are Face-Up in the extra deck must go first in the Extra Zone, or where a Link is pointing down on the Main Monster Zone. That means, you can play without Pendulums nor Links, just like before.
