Predicting the NEW WORLD for Duel Links in 2025!

To correct you a bit, a good chunk of the OCG Structures characters have actually been voiced, surprisingly. The characters debuted in a 3DS game called Saikyou Card Battle, a game that was in speed duel format and fully voice acted similar to Duel Links. Those same characters returned in Cross Duel where they were also fully voiced and in English even. You'd still need to get some other voice actors though, mainly for Shouma and his older sister.

Wouldn’t make sense since that's literally the point of the gates, lol. To travel to other duel worlds and duel other legendary duelists. It's why ARC-V characters have dialogue with the GX Alexis and Aster, 5Ds Crow and Jack, and Zexal Kite. They all initially mistake them for the one they know and acknowledge them being from a whole separate world.

Spirit world would be cool, most people don’t remember this. In wc 2008 game we are in the spirits world and duel with the duel monsters. They call themselves in an animation and we travel worlds when we clear the previous ones events.

The least likely option is a sort of "Monster" world, where archetypal monsters from a lore series are the characters you duel with and play the decks they're a part of mainly because: 1. non-anime archetypes get archive skills now. 2. most cards in lore have little to no personality, and voicing them would be a waste 3. there a lot of lores that don't have many archetypes to have representative characters for, and putting them all in one world is not good

Hey Dylan, if you ask me I'd say they would most likely add those filler characters to DM World instead making a DM Anime World! Especially if you consider that some characters from DM World have lines with cards that appeared only in the anime. For example, Dartz: "The Seal Of Orichalcos", Kaiba: "Different Dimension Dragon" Plus some of those filler characters are fan favorites For example, Raphael, Dartz, The Big Five.

Growing up owatching yugioh on n off. I def so would love to see more side characters come to Duel Links like Dartz n his gang, Seigfried, etc. that would be such fun arch to playthrough. I kindof stopped playing duel links when the pendulum arch of arc V made its way into it. Might pick it up again at some point though knowing its not a popular tech anymore these days again though. I pretty much stopped playing it back in 2018-19 ish.

Millenium World. Story could be after the end of DSOD Kaiba linked that area and those characters with the Duel Links system so he could duel Atem forever. Would finally allow for an actual playable Atem since Yami Yugi and everyone in DM world is a construct of Duel Links. Icon could be Yami Yugi back to back with Atem in full Pharoah garb. Playable characters including the seven priests, Thief Bakura, maybe even Zork or Kisara. Not saying its super likely or anything but I think it would be hype.

Personally, I expect no new world. Which is fine: there are plenty more characters to add to existing worlds. That said, I think you're onto something with your idea for the number one spot: People really seemed excited (myself included) when Tour Guide became a fully-voiced Duelist--even if she's only an opponent for certain events. It'd definitely be cool to play as iconic monsters... but I still think it's unlikely. Planning it all would be a massive undertaking for Konami, especially since it's unexplored territory.

Here's a better idea. What if Duel Links does a feature where you can create your own character? You're character can be any character you want for both Speed & Rush Duel and your ace monster card can be any kind. Example I like Rush Duels and Volcano Attack Dragon is one of my favorite normal monsters to use in Rush Duels and I can have him as my ace monster.

Structures and DM Anime are better ideas than Chronicles. It’s not urgent to make a new world, but the way they handle things will affect the future of Duel Links till the finishing act. If I had to rank least likely to me compared to most it’s Chronicles, No World, DM Anime, and Structures as the current front runner. The reason can be to add Eldlich and VW. By contrast Albaz and Striker are already playable. Duelists are absolutely necessary for the duel world and character interactions within DL. DM anime is very close too because DM has a plethora of support and focus on older characters is welcome in a game that does less with the older part of the series than most parts of the Yugioh brand. Getting to 10th anniversary characters without a world is a huge letdown I don’t think can be missed. Let’s scratch, and have fun with it.

Hmmm i think they might pause this year with a new World. I feel like even if we got YuGioOh 9 it would be too soon to create a whole new world with proper storytelling and events when the anime would basically only start running. I think they would definitely tinker out some special events or something to make up for it, possible regarding the short new animes or perhaps even a focus on the GX World considering the announced remaster. Perhaps we get some new characters added from there instead? Fingers crossed the reception is good whatever it may be!

i mean, there really is no reason for them to not add the filler characters of DM to the existing world. Yes it is more based on the manga but considering that they have spoken and acknowledged it how "i'm not the same one of your world who you think i am" (i remember pegasus having a line similar to that in one of the storylines, obvs not those exact words) it is very possible that they can just make some sort of "expansion" or story where characters learn about this alternate reality and just merge it together as i don't think they'll add another world just for the filler characters. If anything I expect them to add a world where they can put video game only characters (unless they do come from some manga or other thing i have no idea of) or just expansions to existing worlds to acknowledge the manga canons of the other seasons (since the manga is vastly different from the anime starting from GX)

Exactly. They even already had an anime-only character cross over into the existing DM world: Paradox. Sure he wasn't *added to* that world because he's a 5Ds character, but the entire story of his event was literally him redoing what he originally attempted in his movie, except instead of going into the anime DM world that he originally traveled into, he traveled into the manga world, who's version of Yugi never met him (nor Jaden and Yusei) and who's version of Pegasus was already long dead. Pegasus tells him about the existence of the multiverse and the way Duel Links is linking them all into this one place, which he later reports back to Z-ONE during _his_ event.

Honestly I think realistically our only options are either no new world at all, OR a Chronicles world. With the Chronicles anime looking to be more or less THE big Yugioh anime thing this year, and how it seems pretty inevitable that Duel Links will be doing SOMETHING big to tie into it, it just makes sense that it would be the subject of the new world for this year. And it would just be kinda weird if they put all the work and effort into a new world that WASN'T tied into this big new thing.

I find it *very* unlikely that they add a new world at all. A whole new separate world for the DM anime wouldn't make a ton of sense. While the DM world we have now is _clearly_ based on the manga, there was a scene at the end of _some_ DM event where memories that aren't his own were going into Atem (which I'm positive was referencing his anime counterpart), as if to say that those memories of his other version are meshing with his own _and becoming his own,_ essentially deconfirming "anime Atem" from coming as a seperate character alongside other anime versions of existing DM characters (and possibly explaining why they have lines with certain cards that they shouldn't). There was a few other scenes, too. Atem (and other characters I think) were catching on that something wasn't quite right - that the events that were happening in Duel Links, like Marik's event, were occuring based off all their own memories of it and happening almost exactly the same as before. On top of that, the DM characters that we have in the game _already_ have lines with many anime-only cards. If the filler characters ever come to Duel Links at all, I find it more likely that they just get dropped into the DM world that we have now as part of an event (probably another dual character unlock event like Rin & Lulu), with its story basically just being that the filler characters arrived in this world by pure happenstance and recognize that it looks much like their world but isn't quite right, or that they already know it's not their world and they're "invading" it after failing to succeed with their plans in their own world. We already had that happen to an extent with Paradox. He was an anime-exclusive *(and* movie exclusive) character that, in Duel Links, went to the DM world again in his event, which as we know, is actually the manga world in Duel Links. The dialogue between Pegasus and Paradox before beginning a duel between them has Pegasus very clearly inform Paradox of a multiverse and that he is from a world in which he's already dead, clearly talking about the manga world. A monster world seems even less likely, even if technically possible. Not all monster spirits are even able to duel and the ones that *do* seem to be very few, and only _some_ of them are recognizable or popular at all. Off the top of my head, the only duel monsters that actually take part in a duel as duelists themselves in the series are just... Kaibaman, Dark Magician Girl, Gravekeeper's Chief, Brron (that Dark World monster), and Yubel - and only in the anime. Kaibaman would basically just be another version of Kaiba, but sure, he works. Dark Magician Girl works too. Yubel already exists in GX world. Gravekeeper's Chief? Lol, no. Duel Links _does_ have the Tour Guide duel sometimes and people _do_ want her to be playable outside of the Tag Duel tournament event, so sure, she works too I guess. That's basically just 3 characters that people would want: Kaibaman, Dark Magician Girl, and Tour Guide. The new Chronicles mini anime (or whatever it is) will have characters talking and fighting like a normal show, not dueling, so that again doesn't make _a ton_ of sense if they were to base this hypothetical new monster world off of the monsters that will appear in there, even if it makes more sense than just a general monster world. It makes sense for them to go the route of basing it off of Chronicles because: it would be good advertisement, they'd have all the voice actors that they need already lined up, and they would still be able to add Dark Magician Girl, who is probably everyone's most requested monster duelist (Z-ARC doesn't count). But I just don't see it happening. (All that and I didn't even mention how the hypothetical skills of monster duelists from the Chronicles mini anime thing would clash with existing Archive Skills. Yeah... not very confident in this happening as a new world.) I would be perfectly fine with them just refining the game, adding a ton of other content and doing another dual character unlock event (maybe even a triple or quadruple one) instead of a new world, so that it basically adds a lot of the content that the addition of a new world would bring, but without adding a new world. They could drop those doma arc filler characters all at once in this time slot, since all of them except Dartz and _maybe_ Raphael wouldn't even be enough to carry an event on their own in terms of popularity or cards to obtain anyway.

Both Chronicles & Yugioh 9 worlds feel unlikely. Even if the 9th series comes immediately after GO Rush ends, the series would be around 30 episodes in by the time we reached September & October. The most likely possibility is no New World this year, which is fine with me. It just gives the existing Worlds more opportunities for character unlocks. Also, do we need a DM Anime World? They could just add characters from the anime into DM World.

I think we should face facts, Go Rush may be the last world we get. Without the creator, Konami is going to run out of ideas eventually. The Yu-Gi-Oh anime is at an end. The card game however will never go away.

I think we need to stop adding worlds. The more worlds there are, the more uncommon it is for other worlds to release new characters.

The oldies are untouched, and it looks dire for that part of the series. Something like DM anime getting DM back in the mix so it’s not newgioh city could be refreshing, yet it’s a good case for no world. GX and 5Ds especially which has passive events should see character events during the DL run.

I mean the problem about the older worlds is that a lot of the characters we could get are mostly just side characters who don’t offer much. I can’t think of anyone from DM outside of the characters from R GX still needs season 4 stuff which we just got the clear deck printed 5Ds needs I guess Jakob and Lester Zexal needs Vector, don thousand, and maybe Dark Mist Arc V needs Zarc and maybe Sergey for his earthbound deck Vrains has the most unused characters for speed but a lot of their decks aren’t printed so they take it slow with characters with decks. Eventually they may have to bite the bullet and release their anime decks. But I mean a speed world would help relieve some of that stress on those releases and would generate hype and keep the current player base active.

Sorry but number 1 on the list is just ridiculous, how are they gonna add a word that doesnt have duelists and just monsters. Also the lore series is not as big deal as your making it out to be, most people probably won't even watch it or even know its a thing

All duelists in yugioh are monsters but not all monsters are duelists, but I do agree with what you said
