It's very sad indeed. I know Yui struggled hard with that decision. In the long run, she made the right choice for herself. I commend her for making such a difficult decision. Health comes first, and she will be missed dearly. I wish her the best in her future. We never know, maybe one day she will return. Never say never in this business. I knew something was up with Yui. I just hoped that she would recover and come back to surprise us. I'm sad, but ok with her leaving, especially if it was her decision. Babymetal won't be the same without her, but it will still be Babymetal. I won't leave The One like others have because of her departure. I could never do that. This is a sad day for us Babymetal fans, but it's not the end. I hope they reunite in the future. I'm gonna go watch all of the youtube content with Yui in it now.

Feeling sad about Yui's departure is a perfectly appropriate response. After all, one of BABYMETAL's biggest audience-drawing qualities was their genuine sisterhood. They were in it together all the way, and that quality showed and shined so brightly on stage and in their music videos and in their off-stage interviews and in the behind-the-scenes footage. BABYMETAL as a concept depended greatly on those three girls and their group determination and passion to make it work and see this through. It was an "us against the odds" scenario and they went out there and conquered those odds together. That's what makes Yui's departure particularly sad and almost depressing. I'm right with you Callie on those moments of hesitance and emotional pauses, although your optimism is greater than my own. ;( I too wasn't shocked to hear the news; from the early days of my BABYMETAL fandom, I always saw Yui as the least enthused of the three about this "Kawaii Metal" concept - particularly the Metal aspect of it. From interviews where Su and Moa would be 100% behind the early proliferation of "the BABYMETAL mysticism" and Yui would just pretty much come out and say "the emperor has no clothes." lol. And even in their live performances, you could see that while Su was just RELISHING every moment (she was a Metal Queen on stage and knew it every time she stepped foot in front of a BABYMETAL audience ;3) and Moa was rocking out head-banging (in even no-Headbanger performances), grimacing like a badass rock-chick-with-attitude with that big grin on her face we're all familiar with and stomping her foot to that rocking IDZ beat, Yui's passion always appeared more focused on the performance from the perspective of a performer and her excitement seemed more centered on the response to the performance from the audience and that emotion being further fueled by the fact that she was out their with her best friends, her sisters, taking on the world on stage and receiving so much love for it, than by anything to do with the musical concept of BABYMETAL. My absence of shock, however, did not make her leaving any better to digest. Whether she was into the BABYMETAL concept as much as Su and Moa were/ended up being, or not, she was part of that heart and that sisterhood that helped "sell" the BABYMETAL concept to audiences in Japan and outside Japan. Without that core, without that united-as-one sisterhood on stage, it just doesn't feel like BABYMETAL. Think about it, although they weren't actual sisters, their sisterhood was so palpable about them that they might as well have been. And they were front-and-center of the BABYMETAL presentation and their music, that seeing BABYMETAL on stage with "fill-ins" or "replacements" is like seeing the Jackson 5 with non-family fill-in/replacement musicians and vocalists. At that point, why not just change the name of the band or form a new different band? Seeing Moa in the back with a couple of unnamed dancers, separated from Su, rather than being at her side is good visual example and reminder of that broken sisterhood that's hard to shake. It's just off and gives this, "this just doesn't feel right", feeling. It does to me, at least. The music is wonderful and it is a HUGE part of BABYMETAL, but like all music, it's nothing without the human element. That's what makes us gravitate to any music, the artist. No one goes around talking about music disconnected from the artist, outside of casual listeners of any given Top 40 radio song - "I LOVE this song, but I had no idea who it was by" as an example - and those aren't the members of the audience that artists/bands live on or thrive on. No one says, "Off The Wall, Thriller, Bad and Dangerous are the kings of Pop", they say "Michael Jackson is the King of Pop." It's the artist that gives the music it's identity, heart and soul. The best song can be thought of, written/composed, but at the end of the day, it has to be presented to an audience by someone or group of someones. And if there's any disingenuous, cynical or inappropriate disconnect between the music and the one/s presenting the music then the best of songs are but a nicely assembled string of notes with no identity, heart or soul for the audience to grab onto and connect with to any emotional degree greater than those casual listeners that liked "that one song" from the unknown artist. That's another reason why the timing of Yui's departure hit me hard, despite the lack of shock (the hits just kept coming didn't they? First Yui's ill, then Mikio dies, then Yui's absence is prolonged two-months short of a year before the announcement, Chosen 7 stuff putting BABYMETAL's "configuration" into question, then finally the announcement that Yui's no longer in the group.) The timing of this just fills me with concern... Consider the timing of the "Chosen 7" stuff and the sudden way in which it was executed, followed a couple of months by cryptic remarks from management of Yui still being part of the group, all the while curiously stating that, "this current configuration (of BABYMETAL) is not _necessarily_ permanent." The first BABYMETAL video that didn't feature the girls in any way shape or form - which was also the first song that gave people a difficult time in figuring out if Moa and Yui's voices were actually anywhere to be found on the track. That followed by a couple of new songs, "Elevator Girl" and "Tattoo." One of which is a Su solo song and the other, well, even fans of Elevator Girl must admit that it's the least inspired song BABYMETAL's ever produced and again featured Su infused background vocals. All of it feeling like, time-buying patchwork on the go. Now, we have the announcement that Yui is not only not part of BABYMETAL anymore, but that she desires to branch out on her own as a solo performer, happening in back-to-back fashion with the release of the Starlight video - which again features none of the girls - and is again a song that has Su on lead AND her heavily processed voice carrying the bulk of the background vocals track. It just all seems too convenient, to the point where it seems like a carefully orchestrated fall-back plan. How long do you suppose a video with high production values like Starlight takes to make? I think they've known about Yui no longer being part of BABYMETAL for longer than they've let on. And I think everything they've done, from the Chosen 7 to now, has been in preparation for this. I can't help but think back about the slow, steady clever way KOBA implemented the Kamiband into the group. I fear he's taking the same approach with "the Chosen 7" and this may be a case of, "when the chips are down, fall back to what you know." What happens when a member of an Idol group leaves? They're simply replaced. KOBA, however, as he's shown from the beginning, knows BABYMETAL and all things related to the presentation of BABYMETAL needs to be approached and handled delicately. It's "SUMETAL and MOAMETAL are the core of BABYMETAL now" right now, but when you look at where Moa stands on stage now, to where she used to before in relation to Su, the difficulty in making out her voice in any of the chorus sections of any of the new songs when before, it was clear as day where Su's voice ended and Yui & Moa's voice came in) it's difficult not to read that statement from Amuse with plenty of doubt and suspicion. -- (EDIT: Overly love comment split into two parts, continued in reply)

CONTINUED: I do wish Yui all the best and hope she has a successful solo career. I do still love Su and Moa very much. BOH, Aoyama and Ohmura will always be 3 of the Kamiband Fab-Four (RIP Mikio) and frankly the best musicians in Metal today to me. And I do quite love Starlight (the first song I've done so since In The Name Of), especially in memory of Mikio (whose solo work I own and do frequently listen to) aka my favorite Kamiband member and musician. And I'll always be thankful and admire KOBA for getting such a wonderful idea (also grateful to Su's voice for this) and having the bold vision and courage to see that vision through from his presentation to the execs at Amuse who wanted the next Perfume and instead got a Metal band, to taking them to uncharted territory (Metal festivals for instance) helping them make wonderful music history again and again. I will never stop loving and enjoying their first two albums from start to finish and all the live-concert DVDs/Blu-Rays I've accumulated over the years. What they and their music means to me and the effect it still has on me to this day will stick with me for the rest of my life, I can guarantee it. How I feel about the "current configuration" (words used by KOBA/AMUSE) of BABYMETAL and where the "brand"is going to be taken next, I'm not so sure. I hate to use the word "brand" and sound disparaging about anything to do with BABYMETAL, but, that's how they're being treated by management now. They started out as a revolutionary invention, but now they seem to be intent on sticking to the blue-print they designed/invented (replacing parts in accordance to the now established blue-print) for the sake of keeping the money-making-machine rolling. Some fans say they're "evolving", which baffles me. Evolution is defined as a process of forward development and diversification from an earlier form. When you look at BABYMETAL on stage now, what do you see? A singer surrounded by a group of dancers, right? A live band somewhere in the back, not highlighted as much as the singer and that group of dancers, right? That's been Pop 101 since Michael Jackson revolutionized the concept in the 80s. That sounds more like regression than evolution to me. I've spoken about how their broken sisterhood has hurt me on a personal level, but musically and artistically they were such a breath of fresh air, so unique, so revolutionary, so one-of-a-kind that it really does hurt my heart as a musician and great admirer of music and music history to see them go this route that so many other groups have taken before. Sure, I can understand, Su and Moa probably don't want to end BABYMETAL, KOBA/Amuse certainly don't want to end BABYMETAL and with one key member leaving t and I guess Moa not keeping up with her instrument and musical studies for a shift from dancer/background vocalist to background vocalist/guitarist to be remotely realistic left them with no other option than what they're doing now to keep BABYMETAL going. I guess it wouldn't be symmetrically pleasing to just have Moa dancing next to Su with no one else, I don't know... Frankly, I would've preferred it if they had disbanded and left BABYMETAL forever being what they were in the annals of history, unaltered. It would still hurt, but it'd be easier to mourn and move on than constantly seeing the distorted ghost parade around on stage seeming like it's still there when it really isn't... And I can't help but feel that just when they were in the cusp of legendary greatness somebody dropped the ball and something amazing that could've been even more so just slipped through the fingers of time. It's just been a really miserable 2018 for BABYMETAL and I hope that this Chosen 7 stuff ends soon and KOBA proves my theory wrong and BABYMETAL comes back to it's one-of-a-kind identity and finally does present something that is indeed evolutionary. I'm just not holding my breath about it. Sorry about the blogpost of a comment. x3 I guess I had a lot to say in response to your video.

That was a great, and thoughtful read. I'm a big fan of Nana Mizuki (my avatar picture) and when i saw the first Images of the Japan shows, it looked exactly like her concerts. One singer with dancers around her. Babymetal might continue, but their days as revolutionaries are over with an iconic look and feel. Now they are a rock band with a female singer and pop influences, a dime a dozend, so to speak. And these Amuse types are some of the worst Managers i've ever witnessed. Their official statement felt cold and hard. And you know what, they deleted it after just two weeks, just like Yui's message. These pricks can't move on fast enough and sell their overpriced merchandise.That bit about Babymetal becoming a franchise was especially interesting, and i felt the same thing when the first reports of the Japan shows came in. Moametal is just another dancer now, with a look similar to the other unnamed dancers and quickly replaceable. And you know what, a Suzuka replacement might be already waiting in the wings. Its all about keeping the show going at all costs, sisterhood is a thing of the past for this group.

I feel like the song was originally written in memory of Mikio Fujioka, but given the fact that the statement about (and from) Yui was released the same day as the MV, they probably dedicated it to both of them. Also the album will probably come out soon, they've most likely postponed it waiting to see if Yui would be ready for a return. Now that it's official that she left, the album will most likely be right around the corner.

I was at that May show in Kansas City. The curtain dropped, and four costumed figures were on the stage. I quickly scanned their faces, but it was at first difficult to know who was who. Then, it hit me, no Yui. I thought she would make a dramatic entrance and the crowd would go absolutely insane, but it didn't happen. I still enjoyed the show, but it wasn't the same. I discovered Babymetal on the sky arts channel last summer, when they showed the Wembley arena concert with Yui performing too. I was totally blown away by it. Like it’s everything I needed musically. And then I quickly discovered to my horror that I’d already missed Yui’s departure. This was made worse for me when I told friends at work about the amazing concert and one of them said he was invited by a friend to go see it live but he turned it down! He turned down the one chance I wish I’d had to see the original three girls live. I’m still feeling sad about this even now and I’m holding on to a reckless sparkle of hope that Yui might one day return. Man, that would sell a lot of tickets 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🤘🦊🤘

Hello to the ONE. Thank you Callie for the video. I don't know whether I'm a typical Babymetal fan. I'm 62, retired Navy vet and disabled. I came upon Babymetal watching the youtube of them on the Late Show. I loved them. They help me get through the pain everyday. I think why people loved them so much is the dynamic between the three of them. Yui looked tired and her face was a bit puffy during the Five Fox Festivals. I'm not into all the conspiracy theories. I feel she was exhausted and injured. She fell off the stage, and all that dancing will take a toll on the joints. She has to make decisions that are right for her. I hope she will get better and have a solo career. I will buy her music. I will support Su and Moa. I can imagine how they feel. Other that the message from Team Babymetal I haven't found anything on how they and the band feel. I don't understand the haters. Everything changes, we can't stop it. Babymetal got me interested in music again, especially Japanese bands. From them I have branched out to Band Maid, JapanX and the Wagakki Band. I have all Babymetal's concerts and will watch them. I will get the new concerts and enjoy the new direction will take. They may or may not replace Yui. But she will be always have the love of her fans. Ahh so sad :'[ I had a friend introduce me to Doki Doki Morning just after it was released and was instantly hooked. Yui was always my favourite in both Babymetal and Sakura Gakuin. Over the years Babymetal have brought so many positive things to my life, there was a 1-2 year period where I think I listened to every single track on a daily basis. When I was losing weight Babymetal was the only music I ever had playing, it was incredibly motivating! I must admit though, for a very long time Babymetal have been a very bittersweet thing to me, because I knew right from the start that someday they would be all grown up. Going on a tangent here but I guess it just really made me realize that nothing lasts forever, everything is always changing so we have to make the most of it! The saddest part for me personally is even bigger though, because while I will ALWAYS support them whatever they do, Babymetal's new direction is unfortunately not for me. It's not even that I don't like it, it's still great music. But my absolute favourite thing about Babymetal was always the incredible experimentation they brought to us on the first two albums. They will go down in history for me as some of the best musical exploration ever, up there with Rush, Yes, Dream Theater or anyone else. However, from the new songs, I believe they've found the style they want to make their own, I'm sure we might still get a ballad or an instrumental or something unique on the album, but in general this is a new era for Babymetal in every way. This video makes me happy though, because I hope I'm in a tiny minority with that opinion. I WANT new and old fans to be like Callie and be just as excited for the future as they were for the old albums, but I just can't do it :{ It's hard to describe, of course I still consider myself a fan of Babymetal, but it'll be just that - a fan - I don't think it will be a big part of my life anymore, the 6-year obsession is over. They've had such a tough time over the last year, I still find myself looking for Mikio on stage with them almost every time. But somehow they carry on. I just realized I lied before, the experimental nature of the band is NOT my favourite thing about them, it's something else which is going to sound a bit silly to some, it's not even related to the music... can't believe I'm saying this, it's their friendship. If I have one wish in this whole thing, it's that the three girls stay friends forever. Seeing the fun they have on stage and just the way they are in interviews or any sort of videos should be a lesson to the whole world. Does anyone remember that 2 minute video of them just having fun in Singapore after the show when they had just started? That's what I think of, they're just amazing happy people who happened to get into making amazing music. But now all I can think of is little Yui bouncing around in that video so I'm gonna end it here before this gets hysterical. so it turns out that the last time i've seen BABYMETAL with Yui is Chula Vista, for Yui's 18th birthday. i happened to be standing directly in front of her at the barrier during Karate when Su announced her birthday to the crowd, though it was obvious we all knew, everyone was wearing birthday hats and had signs saying "Happy Birthday". it was beyond heartwarming to see her so moved by the birthday wishes, i was actually able to draw her attention to the sign the young lady next to me was holding (my own sign was not allowed in because it was posterboard) and saw her reel back, clutching her hands to her heart and nearly crying from seeing it. none of the fan videos from that moment do it justice, seeing her directly before me react to all of the love she felt from all of us and trying to give all of her love back to us was, no exaggeration, one of the best moments of my life. she was clearly flustered for the remainder of the show, overwhelmed by the love and support for her birthday. after they were done and they all left the stage, she turned back and gave extra waves to everyone. i of course am sad that this is most likely the last time i will ever have seen her, but if that does turn out to be so, what a show to have as the last! so many wonderful moments of catching her eye at the shows, getting all of those personal waves and smiles and winks from her will forever stay with me. the one that stands out the most is from the Alternative Press red carpet walk in Columbus, Ohio, when they performed with Rob Halford. i walked along with them, taking as many pictures as i could. when they were stopped about halfway doing an interview, i turned back to my mom, who is also a BABYMETAL fan (also, i had to break this news of Yui leaving today which is her birthday, not a great gift, i know) to make sure she could see them as well. when i turned back, Yui was staring directly at me and smiling. i quickly grabbed my phone to get a picture, the whole time she held still to help the pic come out as best as possible. when done, i smiled and nodded, mouthing "Aritgatou" and she smiled even more and nodded, then turned back to the interviewer. such a simple thing for her to do, but further proof that she loves her fans so dearly, it was such a wonderful, however brief, bonding moment that i will never forget. like you, i am saddened by her departure, but i am so thankful to her, and to Suzuka and Moa, for bringing such a radiant light into my life, and more than being sad i am happy that she will be able to focus on her dream and will be there with bells on to support her in whatever way she needs. as for BABYMETAL, i too am looking forward to what comes next! whatever the future holds, either with BABYMETAL or what may end up being three solo careers, these three young women will always have my unconditional support

I still believe the fervent hope was that she would be able to return, which made them (Koba, etc.) reluctant to say anything definite. It's still a relief that it's all official now. It would have been a disaster if the first Japan show arrived without saying anything. I'll continue to support Su and Moa as BABYMETAL, and will also support Yui if she decides to do something public facing in the future. She's a remarkable young lady. thats the thing with 'idol groups' where the members don't necessarily have control over what they do. In fact im sure that the remaining 2 members have expressed a desire to drop out but have agreed to stay and help newer members settle in or a new leader gets picked and steps in to carry on the duties of Yui before the remaining two depart. Its their managers job to pick the new members that can get the fans so enthralled (like many are with Yui...) that for the remaining two core members leaving it wont seem like a big thing as they have already passed the torch onto the newer members who are carrying on the babymetal legacy. I dont think babymetal has ever had much control over what they did as that is how idol culture is in Japan. They probably also have very very limited creative control so the songs are being ghost written for them just to perform it. Im not sure how their songwriting process goes but they have two of the bests guitarists in Japan playing in the band (Leda & Takayoshi) Both of them are legendary while Leda being the one of the bigger names amongst the 3 guitarists... Deluhi, Undivide, Far East Dizain etc etc... Hell, he was even part of Galneryus for a bit. Im not sure if they have any input in the writing process but it is possible.

I'm with you, Callie. I stand with you and all of the other members of The One, referring the full fan base, not the paid official fan club. I literally did something I haven't done in YEARS. I actually broke down when I read the official announcement. I cried when I realized this would be the end. Yeah, but that doesn't take a year to recover from. She was puffy in the October concert. My best guess: she was pregnant. Japanese girls really blow up when pregnant. Say it happened in September. That's a June birth, and a couple of months to recover, and hoping to be back with the band in August. Might not have been an easy birth, and hence, the longer delay. Then the decision to leave. You're projecting an awful lot here. No, teen pregnancy does NOT have the stigma it once did in Japan. The rate is 15 per 1000, which is indeed low, but unknown. Sure you're just not willing to accept she's a normal, healthy girl with desires? For all we know. she's married- Amuse would hide that as well. Amuse also stated that she would be on the European leg of the tour in June. We heard nothing when that didn't happen. Again, if she's not healthy enough to play with BabyMetal, she's certainly not going to be healthy enough to go solo, and her message seemed to imply she wasn't ready to get on the stage yet. I can't see what she will do as a solo act, because she hasn't the vocal chops for a solo gig: she has probably the weakest vocals of the three of them. Finally, she could have been gone from BabyMetal for months now- the Japanese ARE very cagey about what they allow out in business matters, and this letter could have been penned by someone at Amuse, and released in Yui's name when they felt the time was right. Sadly, we'll never know: it's easier to get state secrets out of the Kremlin than business secrets out of Japan. ..Joe

BABYMETAL came to London three times, and I couldn't go all three times, and I've been a fan since June 2014. V sad I'll never see her. I've beat myself up about this intensely now that Yui's left. I have a feeling that BABYMETAL is going to be more Su-focused now. Distortion and Starlight, and Elevator Girl are all very focused on Su and I think Moa will probably fade out a little, with whoever the rest of the 'Chosen Seven' are. I wouldn't be surprised if there were five new members, especially because they said that Su and Moa were the 'core'. But, we'll see. October 23rd......very exciting.

Another thing, for me at least, was that BM was great because they were a trinity, so them not replacing her and addng 2 back dancers instead destroys that, and abandoning the whole Kawaii-metal concept for something entirely different is sad. I think I watched this video around the time it came out, which was a few months after I became a fan of Babymetal. I wasn't really connected to them and barely knew their background, but after Yui left is when I dug deep and really understood why everyone was so messed up by the news. Never seeing Babymetal with Yui wasn't my concern as I was (still am) in locations where it's impossible for me to see bands live. I'm with you in that I'll support the band as long as they still make music, but Amuse/Koba/whoever could've dealt with this in a much better way. I'm seeing comments by some angry fans, which I totally get considering how much they've 'invested' into Babymetal. People love the music, put loads of cash into it through tickets, merch, albums and so on, and the people at the top have made themselves seem so inconsiderate towards fans through their lack of transparency to this day. Still no information on Yui and her health issue (not asking for specifics, but "she's fine now" would suffice). At the same time, when it comes to people who have stopped supporting the band, I just end up thinking about Su and Moa. How would they feel seeing that? At the end of the day, I'm just happy that Su and Moa are happy. Seeing videos from their 2019-20 tours can be so emotional at times just cause of how happy they seem. This news reached me earlier and although bitterly disappointed it has at least has been confirmed. I will make my own video with regard to this so will not leave a essay here to read. Thank you for explaining the recent history of Yui. I guess the band will be known as BabyMetal now, not Dark BabyMetal. The theory with some Reddit contributors is that Yui had a serious back problem. Maybe whatever Yui pursues in the future she may tell us in her own time. I held it together until you showed the Yui Funko Piop doll. I will make further views on the way BabyMetal move forward in my video but so far the new songs are shorter length and I wonder if this will be the same for all of the CD? I wonder if the book was re-edited to include Yui leaving? One of my favorite videos of BabyMetal is Yui singing Headbanger. How I wish there was an Official version of it. I've had a sinking feeling for a while that this was going to happen. Honestly...I've had this feeling since Tokyo Dome. I don't know why exactly. It feels as if one of my greatest fears just came to pass, it wasn't irrational this time. I'm relieved that we've finally been told something, and I'm glad that this was Yui's decision. I can't wait to see what she does moving forward as Yui Mizuno. But I'm still heartbroken... I love Babymetal, and I''ll always love Babymetal, but change is scary. I've been a fan for about 4 years. Thank you for this update. Seriously though I kind of saw this coming. Yui is so talented, so kind hearted and I really hope that what ever is going on in her life that things get better. Not knowing what was going on with her was really annoying. 😔 I will support her and babymetal always. 💕💖💓

I saw your post on reddit and had to watch. Intense sadness describes this gut wrenching day. The only upside is Yui's status is official and speculation is over. You may not remember, before the Utrecht show I gave a description of lining up (queueing) in Detroit. Fortunately you got merch and the barrier. Yay! Like Yui, you've always been positive and non-judgmental of other fans. For me, my fandom is over. My gut said she was gone after Legend S. I was at Kansas City and that mess. Now today's announcement. It was one hell of a fun ride as they ascended to Tokyo Dome. Since then, for me, the fun of Babymetal and fan interaction was stripped away. They had to grow out of the pigtails and tutu's, but the changes were too much. I do notice in the new pic the girls are in red, the color of kawaii. Keep having fun and enjoy your next piece of merch and concert.

Appreciate the update Callie. When they have a 4-person singer/dance group they also had black costumes that blended into the background. One of the things that was so awesome about Babymetal's original lineup was the dances stood out from the background because of their bright colors. So, regardless of how many people they have fronting their band, it's bad showmanship to allow them to blend into the background. Contrast allows the audience to see them better. So perhaps they will succeed in getting their costuming back to where it was with their new line up. If you ever go to a ballet or dance recital the dancers never wear costumes that make them blend into the background. It's basic showmanship. Think of going to a Kiss show. They basically wear all black. But they have shiny bits all over their costumes. And well, their stage is never all black. Part of the thing I really enjoy about Babymetal is the choreography. And the fans are going to want to see that at a show. With or without Yui-metal, this one dynamic is more of a letdown to me as this visual component seems integral to the entire presentation.

Wonderful tribute , I became a fan in 2018 wish I had found this band earlier , love this band and all of our metal sisters. Wish Su, Moa and Yui a happy and healthy future , even if they are not performing together in our hearts the spirit lives

I was hoping for at least two more albums with the three girls together, but I respect Yui's decision. It must have been very difficult for her. Looking ahead, l wish her all the success and prosperity; and I will be great to see her perform again... even solo. As for BABYMETAL: I fear that it will be difficult to catch lightning in a bottle a second time. Su & Moa are wonderfully talented, but without Yui the vibe is different; and it will be nigh-impossible to find some with whom they can perform together, who complements their talents as well as she did. I hope and pray for the best.

Thanks for the information about Yui. I just started following Babymetal recently,so I don't know that much about them. Your videos give me a lot of information about the band, and I just received their concert from Budokan, Red Night, Black Night. They are an amazing group, and I have found a lot of information about them on KZbin, including your vudeos. Thanks for the info, and keep us informed about what's going on with them! You are so right Yui is solo cute!!! Those pictures you posted are a good assortment of her smiling face and her enthusiasm!!😊😊

I watched the MV and when I scrolled down to the comments afterwards I was completly suprised and shocked by the things I read. I kinda hoped after their last announcement that it was temporarly so it hit me out if the blue. I can't even imagine what the girls most go thru right at the moment. Well I just got my Yui funko pop figure, before it all came down

I guess someday I’ll come to terms with not being able to see Yui but I can still appreciate Babymetal without her😞 Besides, we may even see her in the future in some other way. I just want to see some kind of a goodbye (like a last speech at a concert or a little farewell video with all three girls) That would me and I think many BM fans finish with this topic and go on. I will miss Yui every single time i listen to BM but sadly, it´s reality. I'm just scared that we will never hear something about Yui again. #ByeYui :( edit: Yeah sadly i found babymetal just a few months ago...never got a chance to see all three girls together. I'm glad the uncertainty is over. Now Babymetal can storm the world with their brand of Rock, and I can't wait until we see what Yui does next. With this known I believe Babymetal will do something creative and amazing, and it will be good to see Moa able to shine on stage alone. I think we all wanted to see more of Yui and Moa as individuals; this is not how we wished it but as a long time follower of bands, 8 years is a long time without lineup changes. I love them all, support them all, can't wait to see what they do next. Celebrate the music you have now, it is always ephemeral.

Thanks for the thoughtful video. But you got me in the feels at the end. I've been aware of BM since 2014, but didn't become a real fan until 2016. I didn't get to see them live until this year....it kills me to know I'll never get a chance to see MoiMoi in person or maybe never even get to hear many of their older songs at all. :(

Callie, It must have been difficult announcing this news. Watching you on KZbin, I can see you were one of their super fans. Like I was always told throughout my years, God has plans for us all and when a door closes another one will open. I believe Yui will recover and restart her career better than ever.

I FINALLY got to see BabyMetal back in May. It was the second date of their world tour, they played in Austin, Texas, and everyone that saw them on the first date right before the Austin show was so confused there was no Yui. Sure enough, in Austin there was no Yui either and we know she did not return for the dates after that. I have been a fan of BabyMetal for about 4-5 years and they never played in Texas. It sucks because when they FINALLY played Texas Yui was not there. :( :( It was still a fantastic performance and I will always support BabyMetal, but still so sad that I will never get to see Yui with BabyMetal. However, I am more relived that it was her decision to leave, not someone else's and I am happy to see what she decides to do with her solo career.

You got yourself a new sub. *** I have my response to Yui's official written statement: She really puts the emphasis on being Mizuno Yui. It's a subconscious message that she loves Babymetal and her fans BUT gives more importance to herself and not her alter-image i.e. Yui Metal. Yui always showcased her mature and humble attitude so I'm honestly not surprised that Yui made this decision, and am happy for her that she's moving on and do the things SHE wants to do, instead of what maybe her parents, Japanese social Idol pressure and/ or the career advisers at Amuse Inc wants. I can only hope Su and Moa will follow suit, because I love BM but not at the expense of the health and welfare of those girls. They deserve much better. We've seen many young aspiring artists being sucked dry by bloodsucking A&R and Music industries and eventually collapsing by severe pressure due to not being able to manage global fame and complicated finances - which ultimately leads to so called "advisers" playing them just because they got money and are innocent. Ever since the start of BM, I was always a little bit hesitant, hoping that these girls will not be used for corporate greed, an agenda or whatever companies deal in nowadays and I can speak of every other BM fan probably feeling the same. You can't deny that Su, Moa and Yui Metaru-Desu are exceptionally talented and the time is now that they should invest this in themselves and their own future aspirations, rather than the brain-washing methods of a music company, using them for their own gain. So far, Japan or Amuse Inc. hasn't proven to us that these girls are benefiting from the fruits of their labor, the company is secretive and everything is as dark as dark can be. Speaking of dark, we haven't seen ANY visual confirmation of Yui whatsoever, just a written statement that we don't even know is written by her. My question: Where is Yui? It's 2018, just a written statement nowadays won't fit the script. One thing we should understand, is that the departure of Yui is a sign that things aren't as bubbly as they're trying to make us believe. Girls, I can attest that your phenomenal music helped me through some rough times and goodness me is it really affective when I'm exercising. But the last thing I want to see is all of you suffering greatly because of an idea based of greed, an that can replace you in no time (look at Yui and Mikio). This song for me is not a tribute to Miko or Yui, it's the beginning of the end of what Babymetal was, that WE as The One (the fans) are used to. Suzuka, Moa and Yui - we will always remember you for connecting metal fans from all genres, putting a smile on our faces and making us enjoy your extreme but kawaii energy and we won't forget that. Now it's time to go your own and continue to shine your lights in your own unique ways and bring goodness to this earth through your talents, the way you did as Babymetal. Thank You. I only discovered them about 3 or 4 days before the announcement, a clip of them doing "Breaking the Law" with Rob Halford and I was HOOKED. I immediately checked out everything I could about them and discovered that I was a genuine Yui addict, God she is so adorable! And here we are a few days later and she won't be part of the experience moving forward. Do I believe the health/injury story? Yes... It's very hard to keep up that level day after day, it has GOT to take a toll on you. Now the controversy: Do I believe she left of her own free will? No... I think originally she was given the time to rest up and heal mind/soul/body. But at the end of the days it's a business, I think Amuse wanted to move forward and she wasn't up to it so they gave her the "option" of leaving the band. They may have even threatened her (YOU leave the band so Amuse doesn't look evil or we'll fire everyone and see to it none of you works in this business again.)... I can actually see that, because I have watched a TON of BM videos the last few days, you can tell they all genuinely had a blast working with each other and what (admittedly little) I know about Yui, she's not the kind of person who would allow her friends to suffer because of her. I don't know much about the entertainment business, but I know a great deal about contracts. You will likely not hear much on the subject other than the official statements because they more than likely are not allowed to talk about it. I will enjoy the "classic" Babymetal, and I will give them a chance moving forward, as I simply do NOT believe Su or Moa had anything to do with the decision. But I am definitely "Team Yui" and I will be waiting in anticipation for her next move.
