Wow.... I never thought I'd see someone reacting to this song, and especially this particular performance... if im not mistaken, this is over 10 years old. Also idk if anyone mentioned this, but this is an OST for Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles. Yuki Kajiura is one of my favorite anime/video game composers and the group Fiction Junction (the 4 back singers) used to have an ensemble together. But yeah anime and video game music is amazing.

Indeed! She’s soooooo good at putting violin and flute in her music.
Holy cow, Yuki Kajiura's music? You're in for a whole RIDE down the rabbit hole. She works with so many talented vocalists and this performance is one of my all time favorites out of the live renditions for her concerts. My other personal favorite is Duran Shoukan with Hanae Tomaru as the main vocalist. So amazing.

Great to see you react to Yuki Kajiura. She has a lot of really beautiful music, writing for Japanese TV series, games, and movies.

thats the special thing about yuki kajiura. she always write the music / lyric so accurate with the story of game / anime their belong to. her music has the "message" of the story itself and deliver it to us who watch the show, and sometimes hit so hard and painful yet beuatiful at the same time

Just as a heads up, during this early stage the band was called FictionJunction and most tracks featured different singers. Yuki Kajiura is the main composer, made soundtracks for .hack, Xenosaga game series, Fate series, Sword Art Online etc. In 2007 with some of the singers from here, Keiko and Wakana, she formed the band named Kalafina to make the theme songs of Kara no Kyoukai, later expanded to Madoka, Fate/Stay Night franchises etc.

I love Yuki Kajiura! She’s one my favorite composer from Japan! All her vocal singers are unique and powerful! Wakana, Hikaru, Kaoru, Keiko, YUUKA. She created two bang groups. One is FictionJunction and the another one is kalafina.

Oh my God, the memories (haha!)... I love this song and the series it's from so much... Never would I have expected to see someone react to this, and now it's yours out of all reaction channels!! This is just amazing. (Shoutout to whoever requested this. ♥) Thank you so much for reacting to great Japanese music like that! Also very glad you liked it. ♥ The logical next step would be the song "Synchronicity" which is also from this beautiful anime Tsubasa Chronicle (fun side note: The Song Of Storm And Fire is, indeed, a battlescene soundtrack). Written by Yuki Kajiura as well, performed by Yui Makino. You're gonna love this one as well!

I found this song just the other day and man, I found your reaction just now! I know going in you'll like this, I sat there literally crying when I heard this version, not because of the words, Yuki Kajiura is a really good lyricist but this is her own 'language' Kajiurago and isn't meant to be understood as much as felt, but because of the emotion the singing evoked in me, I just opened up and felt it!

I never knew that, and I’ve been SO impressed by her music. This adds a whole new layer. Thank you! It is like pure raw emotion in the way it’s expressed

Wow, i think this is my first time someone reacting to Kajiura, thank you for liking her music and giving explanations :D And funny you mentioned Sword Art Online - the BGM is also arranged by Kajiura! SAO featured Remi as the main singer instead of Eri Ito. kzbin.info/www/bejne/l5upk2V5aLKLrKc here is Luminous Sword, and kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJ3baq2EmtGtbK8 here is Swordland, live performance from them. (I swear I had watch the complete 30-minute-ish video of this performance in KZbin but i guess it is deleted :/) Eri Ito is the guest star, she is not always included in Kajiura's works. If you are familiar with anime music/BGM here are some works I know from Kajiura - Eri is featured in this Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Pandora Hearts. Remi is featured in her recent works like SAO and Fate/Stay Night: Heavens' Feel. Other names are Hanae Tomaru, she is in Fate/Zero and Kara no Kyoukai. There are other works by her, but i am not quite familiar with it 😂

For anyone not acquainted with Kajiurago: Most of Yuki Kajiura's vocal pieces feature an astral language called Kajiurago. It has no meaning and sounds very close to Latin. The fact that the vocalists (who are also Japanese, by the way) can pronounce these sounds (almost) fluently speaks to the amount of skill they possess. Edit: I'll add - To put that in perspective, remember how English is generally among the most difficult to learn and pronounce for the Japanese Edit TL;DR You have to contextualize Kajiurago to understand how extremely skilled these vocalists are.

I don't always like the live vocalists that Kajiura choses for her live performances (like this group, Fiction Junction, which ranges from OK to amazing depending on the perforamance/song), but the power is undeniable in her compositions and how she coordinates multiple vocalists and instrumentalists to create a unique sound. "Mezame" is probably the best Kajiura song Fiction Junction performs live, from what I've seen, but this one would be their second best I think.
