YUN TAL BEL'VETH is 'NASTY'

Preview of Yun Tal Bel'Veth - this is going to the live servers tomorrow (not saying it's broken or anything, just informing). I sadly don't have time to get more footage with it, but this should be a nice glimpse of what you can potentially do with Yun Tal on Bel'Veth. Yun Tal + IE + LW item are probably 3 core crit items for this build. In this game my Yun Tal dealt extra 50000+ damage, but most of it wasn't damage to champions.

The support item is still bugged with Bel'Veths onhit modifier. she will do 95% of the remaining hp as true dmg leaving the minion to die to other minions. this could theoretically be abused to push the wave really quickly since the stacks only get consumed if you actually kill the minion.

Yun Tal is going to be useless on vast majority of champions, but some champions may potentially make a use of it. Bel'Veth, Aphelios or Pantheon come to mind - in Bel'Veth case she can apply 10+ stacks of Yun Tal with just 1 E. This of course requires commitment to the crit build (especially IE) but is something worth considering imo. Sadly Kraken Slayer doesn't have crit anymore - that's why I didn't build it.

It's only case when some onhit item won't work on her because Yun'Tal requires crits, she can't crit on her spells ( outside build with Shadowflame below 35% target hp, at this point target is nearly dead )

When Draven was released his passive was bleed on crits which would stack and q hits would count as crit which was the reason they were nicknamed "blood brothers", both Darius and Draven had a bleed passive. But Draven's was op so Riot had to change it to his current passive but now they bring back his passive as an item appearently. Riot never learns.

The Fact they are removing alot of abilities or mechanics and then decide to implement them at a later point in a different Form either means they have No real Idea what to do and keep forgetting about things, or they know what they are doing but dont really have new ideas so they recycle old content

@@eagleclaws1781 To be fair though, we're talking about old mechanics in an older version of the game vs said old mechanics in a newer version with expanded champion pools and items, so chances are they might end up not being as broken as they once were. It is a trial-and-error process, IMHO I'm glad they are at least willing to try and bring back older stuff for the game to keep things fresh. The reverse situation happened with Ahri and Deathfire Grasp where they removed the item only to give its passive to Ahri's E during ss8, and she ended up being just fine IIRC.

Draven wasn't changed because it was OP in general, just OP early on and hard to balance it in the early game while in the mid game and beyond, it was legit the most worthless passive in the game. This item is the opposite where it's not so good early, but as you get items, it gets better since it scales with AD and requires the crit. There's just always one or two champs that take things and break it. Like Kraken was broken in the same way and had to be nerfed to be adjusted by the %reduction of on-hits and this will likely have the same thing happen and it'll be perfectly fine again.

It did so much damage because it had no max cap like Darius had so people could just build aspd and crit and just ignore the q catching mechanic and deal the same dps with someone who built "normally" and interacted with the q catching mechanic alot if not more anyway. This item does not stack like Draven passive, yes, but it does scale with ad unlike Draven passive so it is basically the same thing but with a little twist. Youre right that there are always some characters who breaks new stuff like how Zilean, Vlad and Gragas broke the new ability haste mechanic. Riot's reaction of nerfing the characters (or items) instead of overhauling the system (or items) around those characters or designing the system (or items) that way in the first place shows that Riot doesnt really considers these type of things though.

@@RexRagerunner It was not OP. People did not build AS at all on Draven because his W and the W reset did more than enough. It had no scaling outside of levels and did a max of 102 damage over 4s, so 25 damage at level 18 per second. It did NOTHING. To put this into perspective for you. Draven's passive maxed at 102, so even with 100% crit and 2.5 AS, you could only reach a max of 10 stacks, which is only 1020 a second and that's after ramping for 4 seconds. Even after only 1s of standing still and just attacking, it'd only do 200-300 damage a second. Draven with only 1 attack a second could've done that level of DPS. He did not need the passive, it was not OP, it was not even strong. It was worthless after the early game. Even if we just count the damage it did compared to what his AA would do, he could AA for 1k AFTER armor and that would do 100 BEFORE armor. It wasn't even 10% of his damage. It was not noticeable outside of early game where it was a 34 damage DoT on a no armor target when you had ArPen runes so your 100-150 damage auto poke with Q would also chip them down with a DoT that was around 20-30% of the damage of the auto that was unavoidable. In a team fight later on after people have scaling armor so the early ArPen runs lose their luster and his autos go from 100 to 1k, yeah. His passive was crap. AD to scale his R and Q damage was better than AS to scale his useless passive.

while its strong in the clip a lotta the time it was 2 500+ crits into e crits doing the majority of the dmg, the bleed was just a nice bonus a lot of these just come down to belveth e vs a low hp target like the first smolder clip, or the tf one where a q+auto did 1k before stun then e finisher will it be a problem? probably, but not as much as you'd think

I have no idea why bel veth even does normal auto attacks during that spell activation. She should have been just like katarina and her ulti that does proc on hits but can't crit. her autos could be converted into something else that doesn't crit but let her have extra scaling on the base dmg depending of how much crit she has, that way items like yun tal won't be activated. There gonna be more champion examples of yun tal being completely busted on them, one i can think of could be pantheon and his W with sundered sky making all 3 hits into a crit.
