What an amazingly beautiful sound Richter creates out of his piano! Such a poetry, what an emotions, what an artist. Richter is unsurpassed as a communicator. In my opinion this is so much better than the renditions by Andras Schiff, with 4.8 million hits posted on KZbin by filjan44. But compared to Richter Schiff plays much more technical, mechanical and lacks the musical genius of Richter. With all due respect to Schiff, the real Maestro is Richter.

I agree Richter makes every note and phrase live, his playing is captivating for its control of dynamics and rhythm. By comparison, I too find Schiff rather dry and unengaging.
