@@JamesWilsonMD I dunno man, I feel like this year he’s finally gotten into the limelight he deserves especially on a show like Jools Holland. Starting to get more mainstream attention if you know what I mean

Credits: Drums: Yussef Dayes Bass: Rocco Palladino Keys: Elijah Fox Sax: probably Venna, I can't be sure Percussion: I don't know, sorry. The Songs are 'Black Classical Music' AND 'Afro Cubanism'. The video title only references one song when there's two.

Wow, I didn't realize until now that your own mixing is so much better. This is really old school mixing, a little muddy and distanced, and, man, almost no bass. I'm glad that your absolutely gorgeous music usually has way more personality through up to date mixing artistry! Just heard Tioga Pass again for reference. The difference in sound makes me smile all over my face
@philipread10057 ай бұрын
agree 100%: where's the bass in this?!
@mirkomarkovic34387 ай бұрын
What the fuck are you talking about. That's not old school mixing, it's proper mixing where not everything is slammed and limited to death...
@mirkomarkovic34387 ай бұрын
Also did you just really compare a studio recording with a live broadcast?
@philipread10057 ай бұрын
not at all. We are in fact comparing this pretty crap live recording sound with THIS incredible live recording sound for example kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpvHhIaDd9JjhcU. Many of their recent recorded live sessions have had amazing sound. @@mirkomarkovic3438

I prefer the Rory Cashmere mixes than this, it sounds way softer with less impact, and I think drum and bass is a central part of Yussef's sooud

"This is jazz bang up to date" puts words on the feeling I got too, thank you. I was thinking it sounds so authentically bebop and old-school AND YET so authentically today, not like it's trying to just recreate an old vibe. So good!
