Your music comforted me as a young girl going through horrific abuse. I had a transistor radio that I hid under my mattress. At night, I would stay up late into the night listening to all the best artists of that time. While I enjoyed the music I heard through my little radio, your songs were the ones that made me feel safe. Thank you so much. To this day I play your music and am so grateful that you've shared your incredible songwriting and singing talents with the world.

This song reminds me of my wife. It was her favorite song before she lost the battle with cancer, I wish I could change the hands of time, I miss her smiles, she was always there for me and our lovely daughter, life could be so unfair most times but sometimes I wonder why bad things always happen to good people. She’s always in our hearts

I am 70 and I had a dear friend back in the 1970s who introduced me to Cat Stevens and it dawned on me recently that he was gay and he just couldn't tell me that this song tells of how he felt towards me. Poor Michael, he as his father did, died young 41 I believe and this song always brings back lovely memories. He got me into motorcycles and we took off on a loooong ride to Northern NSW on our Yamaha 350 R5s.

Who is there listening to this beauty even in 2021.? Although it's a sad song but still I am in love with this song.. It reminds of a love I still thinking of even after 50 years, he is still in my heart & thoughts everyday.. I wished I could tell him how much I loved him. Cat Stevens has been always one of my favorite Singer. Nr. one: My Lady D'Arbanville, Nr. two : Bitter Sweet, Nr. three: Oh, Very Young, and not forget this altimated love song. It still gives me goosebumps. Love from the Netherlands.

I know a lot of married people hold this song sacred to their relationship but for me this song is sung by someone to a deeply loved person who can never actually be had but remains impossible to ever be attained. The feeling to me is almost religious, like approaching to God impossibly.

Songs like "How can I tell you" were my only companion in the 70s as an adolescent girl who was very unhappy. I have no words to describe how your music was my only solace during those days. I don't know if you will ever personally see these words but I truly hope you do so you understand what impact your music had on most of us at that time

How can I tell you That I love you I love you But I can't think of right words to say I long to tell you That I'm always thinking of you I'm always thinking of you But my words just blow away Just blow away It always ends up to one thing, honey And I can't think of right words to say Wherever I am girl I'm always walking with you I'm always walking with you But I look and you're not there Whoever I'm with I'm always, always talking to you I'm always talking to you And I'm sad that you can't hear Sad that you can't hear It always ends up to one thing, honey When I look and you're not there I need to know you Need to feel my arms around you Feel my arms around you Like a sea around a shore Each night and day I pray In hope that I might find you In hope that I might find you Because heart's can do no more Can do no more It always ends up to one thing, honey Still I kneel upon the floor How can I tell you That I love you I love you But I can't think of right words to say I long to tell you That I'm always thinking of you I'm always thinking of you It always ends up to one thing, honey And I can't think of right words to say
