I was 16 and working after school at a job for $1.25 an hour. The first check I got in the ‘70’s from my job I bought a Cat Stevens album. I listen in the morning before school, at night, every chance I got. I loved this man and his music as a young girl. I turn 65 today and started out the day with my favorite artist. I know a lot of married people hold this song sacred to their relationship but for me this song is sung by someone to a deeply loved person who can never actually be had but remains impossible to ever be attained. The feeling to me is almost religious, like approaching to God impossibly.
