Yusuf Islam, the singer who came to fame as Cat Stevens, is embarking on his first U.S. tour since 1976. CBS News' Anthony Mason spoke with the singer about his return to America, his new album, and about embracing the name he used before becoming a Muslim.

@@Nusrat-_-farha_ wcs I can kinda sorta explain. Instrument is the weapon of the shaitan. No such thing as keeping both. You will gradually get that Quran & music can’t coexist in the heart, one will suffer. Allah made it clear that that was the tool that was allowed for shaitan to use. Thru out the Years I lost a lot of my memorized Quran because of music. It even interferes with your prayers. And to be honest it’s not hard to grasp that concept. Music is something that has the power to you feel sad, happy or even full of rage. It’s not a reality it’s nothing but an illusion. Hope that helps😊

Cat Stevens has always been one of my favorite singers & I have all of his albums. I was sorry & saddened when he stepped away from music but I never believed the bad press that came after. I respect his decision to leave music & seek God. I'm very glad he's found a balance to have both now. Welcome back!!

I'll never forget the one and only performance I saw Cat ascend from the stage riser sitting on this stool with the most beautiful laced boots I have ever seen. This was in Lakeland Florida sometime in the early 70's. I am so very glad he came back to the music world. We have all missed him for so very long.
