Alhamdoulilah he reverted, but music is not permissible to listen to let alone produce as it was the cause of the first major sin committed in a large gathering, Zina gathered around music. Many Muslims are sympathetic to music especially religious/peace inciting tunes. But I can’t just follow my nafs and disregard our prophets words and Allah’s prohibition in favor of my own pleasure. Don’t forget that peeps. Much love.

@@medowatcher I have been told that there is disagreement amongst scholars as to what is haram and halal regarding music. That one can listen to a symphony but not heavy metal or vulgar rap songs. We all do the best we can. If Allah forbade all music then why create it?
@medowatcher
@medowatcher 4 жыл бұрын
@@katstephens6571 There is no disagreement at all between any major established scholars actually. Not sure where you heard that. The hadith is quite clear, The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Among my ummah there will be people who will regard as permissible adultery, silk, alcohol and musical instruments.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (5590). See also: al-Silsilah al-Saheehah by al-Albaani (91). As to your last question the answer is simpler than you think, to test you/us. Allah created many evil things in order to try us and see what we’d embrace, his remembrance through Quran etc or music. 💭 More info on your music question here brother, islamqa.info/en/answers/50687/he-loves-islam-but-he-cannot-give-up-classical-music

I have always loved Cat Steven's. He has the most beautiful voice and words that speak volumes of the person he truly is. I listen to his music and also saw Jesus in his songs. You can't love the Father without also loving the son.

Everytime we unfortunately have a mass shooting especially schools, I sing all day where do the children play. It was cat Stevens who got me thru Lisa Lisa and all the other stages of my journey. His spirit is same, my spirit is same. Old but grateful. He is wonderful. Thank you and nameste. Judith

Our paths to faith may be different, but through music that speaks to the heart and soul regardless, that so doesn't make a difference. Shouldn't anyway. God Bless You Sir.

Huge fan of the 'Tea for the Tillerman' album, huge fan of the musical Artist. He has been a creative force for good with charitable causes. It maters not what name he goes by or what beliefs he has.We are richer from these songs. I would like to buy the new recording of 'Tea for the Tillerman'. To compare. Thanks for the story!💛
