When you realize her fixation on food is due to a constant state of near starvation, you realize the dire situation these two are in and the fact that their eventual deaths are inevitable. The cuteness of this show is not only a mask which encases the underlying morbid nature of girl's last tour, but also serves to draw attention to its bleakness via contrast.
