Dear Paola if you want to talk about Yuzuru's Gift you better watch it! He might be the only skater (no one else is needed) but there are an incredible amount off highly professionals on stage with him. The best Musicians, Dancers. Special effects, video screens ...... There is no former, present and most likely future Figure Skater, that has the athletic/technical ability, the creative mind to come up with his Ice Story! The Figure Skating Community is not really able to appreciate what just happened, but the Performing Art community is there along with him.

I'm glad eteri's reign is finally over so many innocent young girls fell victim and were shattered entirely by her coaching methods... I hope there will never be another aliona who was left broken and fending for herself or an Evgenia who had to suffer public humiliation at the hands of eteri
@vtrly272
@vtrly272 Жыл бұрын
It’s still happening even without them being in international competition. She’s still scouting for more victims and now these girls are basically used for Russian propaganda. I’m for sure her younger skaters are becoming injured as well. Maya hasn’t been competing and we haven’t seen Daria since her broken hip. Kamila has been growing and I’m worried she will be injured soon and her body won’t stand the training. Anna had surgery for her back injury and Sasha has been stepping out of competition and the people of russia are going against her since she left eteri just like what happened to evgenia. It’s still super heart breaking to hear and eteri really needs to be investigated because her whole camp and the people that support her are basically a cult

You're saying eteri's breaking her girls. But aren't the girls themselves and their parents choose to train and stay with her? Or is someone forcing them to stay? I'm sure they realize more than anyone how tutberidze team works and what sacrifices they make in exchange to being the best. I just don't get this point. The methods are harsh for sure, but these young athletes or at least their parents consciously go for it.

That the Eteri era is "over" is fantasizing and wishful thinking at best. Like her or not, there's a lot invested in making sure her camp is successful. And all of that investment and backing isn't just gonna suddenly disappear simply due to losing a few championships in what will most likely be considered a meaningless exhibition season anyway. A year ago, she nearly swept the Olympic podium. What are you guys actually smoking to honestly believe she's just gonna give up that easily? Back in 2019, no one could've predicted that Valieva would be the hands down 2022 Olympic favorite, that Sasha would land 5 quads and lose, that Kosto would be out with an injury, and that Anna would win the whole damn thing after basically being asked to justify to the whole world why she should even make it to the Olympics in the first place. So, let's be honest, none of us have a crystal ball. But to seriously think that Eteri is just gonna throw in the towel ~3 years away from the Olympics??? Lmao, c'mon guys! *If you truly believe that she's done bc she lost 2 championships in the least relevant year in the history of Russian figure skating, then I have a bridge to sell you* 😂
@vtrly272
@vtrly272 Жыл бұрын
@@user-kb6xb9jn3n again these girls are Russian propaganda and unlike other countries figure skating is a sport that’s funded by the Russian government. Why do u think Sasha still stayed with eteri right after the meltdown at the Olympics. Why do you think they all tried to make it seem like none of that happened. Their government always tries to hide things and make it seem like there’s nothing going on. For the parents, they are just as blindsided as eteris fan. She’s making their kids champions and that’s all they see. Even kostornaia came out during in interview of how she strongly dislike figure skating because of the harsh training they endure but her mom forces her to stay because again all their parents see is that their kid is a champion and they want to keep it that way

Honestly since Yuzuru retired I lost interest in Men's skating, but since the Russians have been banned I've been wayy more invested in the Ladies. I don't think the Russians will be banned for much longer, but the news about Tutberidze team not winning is making me hopeful for the future.

What are they not winning? They're winning pretty much every senior competition they are present at. Sure, Dasha Sadkova didn't win the Junior Nationals but we have to remember that Alisa Dvoeglazova was pretty much the favourite for that competition but she had to withdraw due to injury, so who knows what might have happened. Also, Arseny Fedotov won Junior Nats and Junior Grand Prix Finals so it isn't like she has zero success in juniors. Although it is true that Plushenkos girls seem more dominant in juniors right now

The announcer said medical reasons (and mentioned she didn’t seem to be well for the last few days and had missed a practice session), so that was my guess. Or maybe the dreaded 24-hour stomach bug. Speaking from experience, it can send you from “Alright! Let’s go!” to nonstop puking “OH GOD MAKE IT STOP” in about half an hour.

Eteri is shifting her focus because of the new minimum age to compete on a senior level. She has to adjust. It is still definitely possible to jump quads at 17 but it makes this age window even narrower and my guess she would have to pick girls of the right birth year or focus on the mature ladies skating with 3A and components score. So shifting her focus to boys doesn't sound that bad afterall! Both Akatyeva and Petrosian will be 18 going on 19 at the next Olympics.

Isn't it good that there is no clear new next in line for Tutberidze? It keeps tensions high when you don't know whether Kami, Sonya, Adelya or maybe even Alisa Dvoeglazova will win competitions. Also, it is unrealistic to expect Daria Sadkova, who has very little experience and is clearly (as much as I hate to say it) the "weak link" of Team Tutberidze, to compete against Titova, Zhilina or Gorbacheva, who btw has a loads of experience in the senior field (she finished top 10 in Nationals, helped her team win the First Channel Cup, got bronze at a GP stage and another top 10 in a different GP stage iirc). Alisa Dvoeglazova was among the favourites going into this and would have had much better chances but she unfortunately had to withdraw due to injury I believe. Also also, if you want to know things about Akatyeva or Petrosyan you can easily check out interviews and other videos they do on the Team Tutberidze YT and other channels or you can follow their Telegram to find out more about them.

in terms of russian ladies, it seems like akatieva, petrosiian, and tuktamysheva are the big 3. i don't see any of them lasting more than a couple more years tho. support for tutberidze is drying up as russia continues to pursue its war, and tutberidze being slightly anti-war/vague isnt helping her image when plushenko is so obnoxiously pro-war. samodelkina and muravieva are kinda the only other senior ladies skaters. juniors has gorbacheva, titova, zhilina, and a ton more, but it's hard to say how many of them will make it to seniors. oddly enough tutberidze's only notable boy won his russian championship, but idk if she's gonna throw her weight behind him.

It’s her two-or-three-season stars that have caused the lack of big household name skaters for the ladies in the last decade, too. Michelle Kwan was in 2-3 Olympics (she didn’t actually skate in one of them), Katarina Witt had at least two and stayed competitive until she was around 30, same for Midori Ito, this decade’s Kaori Sakamoto has been to two Olympics and hopefully can do a third, and even Tara Lipinski who won young and retired young stayed active in non-competitive FS for a long while after. You can’t build enough of a presence or enough of a style when you only have 3-4 years to skate under Eteri.

Isabeau wouldn't get as much exposure if there was no covid and Russian ban. I first noticed her in the junior grand prix during covid and i think the Japanese and many of the Korean juniors can't compete and the Russians were limited. So she won some completions. And then followed by the Russian ban which lowers the playing field just when she reached the senior competition. Her being the younger, uninjured American skater helps in gaining the top positions. She's very talented but let's be honest, there are so many other ladies skater in her caliber and above. She's very lucky

Y’all sound so excited about this “eteri tutberizde era is over” I’m sorry to burst y’alls bubbles but the only reason she lost the juniors is because her best student in the category had to withdraw because of an injury, alisa dvoeglazova. She had a great chance at taking over alina gorbachova. Other than that she did win the senior nationals and russian senior grand prix finals (alisa once again didn’t compete in the juniors) and there’s nothing sketchy about the question whether adelia and sofia can make it to the olympics. Unless they keep the russian ban on they certainly will as they’ll get plenty of chances to gain international experience through the upcoming 3 years and then they can easily surpass the japanese ladies and isabeau levito, damn near zero question marks in my mind 🤷🏽‍♀️ other nations got to have a chance to shine in women’s singles for 1 (one) year and y’all ran with “eteri tutberizde over”😭 she is not, y’all just don’t see her as often because russians are banned from international competitions, that’s about it 😭

Regardless of Adeliya and Sofia (I am talking about what happens after them) I just don't see how she can keep doing what shes doing with the new age limit. She's defenitely going to have to change something because otherwise her skaters will have one year max in seniors before they break at the age of 18. And that's if they are lucky. Look at Daria for example, breaking at 15/16. And now even her star skater Kamila is starting to slow, underrotate her jumps more than usual, and break down in exhaustion after the free... at age 16. If she doesn't change something soon she will just be a juniors coach, so there defenitely will be some kind of shift in womens figure skating in the future in my opinion.

Akatieva win RusNats Petrosyan win Russian GPF Kami got silver in both this events Margarita Baziluk basically destroying her competitors in every event so far with her 3 quads FP, taking gold medals one after another this season Alisa Dvoeglazova got gold and silver at her stages of Russian Juniors GP + gold at Panin Memorial (biggest event for juniors in Russia) Dasha Sadkova finally got her quad ready and got silver at Russian Junior PG final Eteri basically show that even in post olympic season she is unchallenged top coach in women FS

Yeah for now. But Kami is slowly breaking. Adeliya and Sofia will probably be her last olympians, but even they will be 18/19 at milano. And the current juniors will be too young with the new age limit of 17. They would have to wait for the 2030 olympics where they would be in their 20s. And what Eteri girl skates in her 20s these days? So realistically I think Eteri, or at least her current training style, will soon be over.

I was watching older competitions and realized that the almost all of top skaters spoke English. I think it's very telling about the state of US figure skating that most of today's top skaters don't even bother to learn. Not that they should have to, of course, but I wonder if that would make a difference...maybe US fans would feel more connected to the Russian, Korean and Japanese ladies (thus, top figure skating today) if they could get to know them in interviews.

Back then shows were big in the US so skaters like Slutskaya, for example learnt English because she sometimes skated at US shows. After the fall of the Soviet Union a lot of Russian skaters trained in the US because the conditions in Russia were really poor, they also did shows in the US so they learnt the language. From the early 2000s the conditions developed a lot in Russia so now their skaters can train under great conditions, they also have tons of shows there so no one really goes to the US anymore. In the US the popularity of the sport has declined rapidly in after 2002, there are barely any shows there, and not many care about the sports anymore. There are a few Russians who speak English well though, usually those who come from wealthy families with good education, like for example Shcherbakova. I met here when she was 14 and her English was really good even at an early age. But even if she speaks English, Americans don't care about her much because they mostly like their own skaters only and want their skaters to be successful, not Russians.

Honestly i used to like your videos but the clickbait tendency lately just turns me off. I guess that having Yuzu's name in the title and the thumbnail helps with the view but if you want to do it, show some more research to make it look like you care. Otherwise, please don't stick his name in videos that you later have to disable the comment in. Sincerely hope you do well without him.

Perhaps Eteri really is focusing on men now, because her male skater Arseny Fedotov has won the Junior Championship. Also her female skater Alisa Dvoeglazova withdrew (I don't know why though), so maybe she actually would have won if she had taken part in the competition. Anyway, it does seem like the end of an era. P. S. Alina Gorbacheva (the girl who won the junior championship) is really great and her coach seems too, so I hope everything works out for them ❤️‍🔥

Levito is a "big thing" only for judges who inflated her components (Glenn is better on skating skill, choreography, moves in the field... and Levito's jumps with toe-pick assist are not so clean). Levito is talented, but she doesn't deserve so high scores, maybe one day, but not now. And this inflated scores made her explode. With fair scores, she never feels so nervous, with fair scores she would have a slow and deserved grow. Mabye she can be a champion in the future, but not now. Russian children made this idea of "immediate success at age 15", but this is not the right way to grow talents... and no one of these girls skated well (except Kostornaya, who had really good presence and moves). Levito is green, young... not a champion. I really pray judges to give her the right scores, so she can grow constantly to become great. Burn the steps is like burn the athlete.

@@Ifxithq Oh, absolutely. There is no WAY she wasn’t skating on an injury already and not being given enough time to heal and rest. Eteri is doing all the same horrible stuff that the Karolyis did in the 80’s with gymnastics. Starving them, making them train while injured, overworking them, telling them they’re worthless if they don’t destroy themselves for a medal because she has a stable of other little kids who can replace them as soon as they break…

But what about euros???🥲 Anyways really hard times for figure skating right now and it sucks!! They arent even broadcasting all the events, even some of the most important ones... How is the sport supposed to gain followers if 1) the russians can't compete internationally which detracts from the excitement...But! we have to say that there is a lot of talent coming from a very young age (specially ladies) so we shouldnt worry about that, we just can't compare it because we don't compete internationally as you say. 2) they don't provide access to streaming!!!!!. You can even see at competitions that the arenas are super empty.... 🫤🫤🫤🫤 3) about yuzuru...Hell yes I would buy a record of his and I would pay Disney if he asked me to, I would even give him my soul😂😂😂
