Yuzuru is the greatest ever. He was underscored so many times and that was a big shame ! But why that happened? He had the power of media and fans. He became a superstar. No one had ever been. He became all that due to his immense talent, never seen before. His skating fascinated the audience and full the stadium. His skating was a miracle: perfect jumps, perfect steps, perfect elements, perfect technic performance and perfect music interpretation. Pure and absolute Art on ice. Too difficult for anybody, but the right element for him. The real figure skate. People were coming to see him. Too much power and ISU started to underscore him. But they failed. Yuzuru is the God of Ice and now he is the only skater that can full Tokyo Dome by himself. ISU can hang now! You cannot treat in such ignoble way a GENIUS.

We can say and write what we want but the truth is nobody has ever done what yuzuru has and continues to do: immense masterpieces. He is the greatest ever and if he hadn't been so underscored he could have won more golden medal. His fault: not to be American...if he had been, the scores would have been the correct ones.

I feel lucky that I was able to "discover" him before he retires. But I feel sad that it will not be long until he stops competing. He is one of the very rare skaters who has the power to move hundreds of thousands of people around the world. Probably the first and only. He can be beaten but his place will never be filled.

I also feel this feeling as fs is not a sport that can be played for long. But I believe Yuzuru won’t retire anytime soon as long as he can manage to play, he will. I just feel that he isn’t the man to leave just because he isn’t on top anymore. He will always has the fire in him. But if I’m mistaken, I know he will still skate for himself as it is his happiness. And anything that will put a smile on his face will always put a smile on my face.

@@tinhari that’s completely true. We don’t know what will happen after Olympics but he’ll just really stop if his body tells him to do so. He loves to skate, I don’t think anything can make him stop it, I believe I’m his love for skating.

From time to time, it pains me to see him lose the 2022 Olympics even after coming to terms that life is a box full of losses and wins. However, this loss hurts more becuase it was his last competition. But I am glad to see that he didn't give up and continued to push for his goal.

People keeps on comparing Yuzuru and Nathan, yet they forget to consider certain aspects; the age gap for example. Nathan is in his prime while Yuzuru is at the edge of his retirement. It just pains me to see how people looks down on Yuzu because he's been beaten by Nathan. May I remind you that when Yuzu's as young as Nathan, he's dominating. Not to mention the major accident he had in China. I admit Nathan is a very excellent figure skater, but he's not much different from all of those skaters in history. Yuzuru? He's an artist, a "poet on ice" as they say. He's not only skating for scores and world records, and fame. He's doing it, intentionally or unintentionally, for art. Nathan can win all the golds that he can, but he will never be able to achieve what Yuzu have achieved. He did won the World's for 3 consecutive times, but can he make the rink flood with gifts and adorations? I doubt that. Only my Yuzuru can. And he has nothing to prove already. He may not be the best in the world, but no one can refute this undebatable fact: YUZURU IS ONE OF THE GREATEST FIGURE SKATERS IN HISTORY.

Well said. Don't compare both of them. I just knew about Yuzuru Hanyu several months ago. He is the greatest person I have known. Because of this fact, I keep looking for anything about him and make me admire him more. Actually I don't really like figure skating, especially the man figure skating. I feel that they skate like robots, make me bored easily. Because of comparison between YH n NC, I tried to find more and watch more about NC. Maybe he is good at quads or jumping, but sorry to say, I don't enjoy about NC performance, lack of something. Maybe if YH retired, I will stop watching figure skating too.

You can say that again. Some people may misunderstood you because of the language. But I agree that the comparison wasn't apple to apple. The age, background, physical condition, etc are so different. Nathan is younger, comes from wealthy (well sufficed) family who can provide him while Yuzuru not, and blessed with perfect health while Yuzu has physical handicap. But that makes me vote Yuzu as number one, despite all those disadvantages he has. But some fanyus also need to have common sense, otherwise they just put more unnecessary burden on Yuzu's shoulder with their own expectation on him. Just give Yuzu some space to grow up and be himself and do what he needs to do, not what the fans want him to do. I see some more mature fanyus have done that.

Well Nathan even at his prime could never beat Yuzu if he was fairly scored. Age has nothing to do with your statement. Nathan was overly scored in most of his performance and im sure he was too aware of that. Yuzu is at his whole different level that no one at this moment could ever be able to compare with him

Yuzuru Hanyu got me hook at watching figure skating. There will be other skater but he is the only one figure skater that skates with grace and artistry. I can’t get enough of watching him. Юзуру невозможно описать какими бы то не было человеческими эпитетами. ОН просто БОГ, невероятно одаренный парень, который безумно прекрасен во всем, к чему прикасается. Я так сильно благодарна ему за вдохновение к жизни, он буквально заставил меня своим примером не ныть, собраться и делать то, что должно, быть сильнее своей лени и жалости к себе, делать невозможное, чего сама от себя не ждала, трудиться изо всех сил. И его такой подход к жизни, его пример отношения ко всему, сделал мою жизнь прекрасной. Люблю тебя, Юзу, бесконечно!❤
