I guess it's because he's struggling with speaking english, but he did come across rather arrogant (not that he can't allow himself to, but he's always hailed as this oh-so-very-humble person and I often don't get that vibe at all)

He did an amazing job. He's not shy to feel confident and compliment himself when he has done a good job. Why should he? It's not arrogance, it's self-confidence and acknowledging his own skills. So now he can't be satisfied and be happy for a good performance and a well-deserved gold? He's the most humble boy, he doesn't brag for anything and he keeps working harder than everyone, he doesn't sit comfortably at the top even if a lot would do that. He doesn't rub into other's skaters' faces his achievements neither his skills to belittle them. There's a difference with that and being arrogant, maybe you should take some lessons in school to learn about it. Have a nice day.

Because without context that’s certainly considered an arrogant thing to say, and given that his usual M.O. is to always appear humble, it’s a weird choice to say that. And yeah, I know he doesn’t rub his achievements and skills into anyone’s faces… (a very big portion of) his fans are already doing a mighty fine job of that. 😂 (as if anyone ever challenged or questioned his success 🙄) Also, speaking of respect: Not sure why you claim that he works harder than everyone and that others in his position would be complacent and stop improving themselves. How would you even know. That’s quite rude to all the other skaters, who also put in a lot of work and are simply not as genetically gifted or didn’t have the right conditions/early development/nurturing to achieve the same results as Yuzu did. (Never mind, that it’s perfectly fine to stop evolving after achieving a certain goal in one field, and to move on and find new things and challenges in life to focus on)

@@biari8599 Sorry. There's a lot of haters claiming he's arrogant and disrespectful and i couldn't help it. I still don't think it feels arrogant, because he just knew what a good performance he did so he felt like he deserved or was going to have a wr. He's just acknowledging his good performance, but yes, probably because he can't express his thoughts as good as in Japanese he couldn't add details. I mean "harder than everyone" as an expression, not implying that others don't work, just like saying that even with his level he works super hard and doesn't sleep in his position. Sorry if it came off as if I was disrespecting or belittling the others. It's kinda like saying "he's the best boy", not like there aren't other ppl as nice and good. Anyways. He continued skating and didn't stop improving because he just loves skating that much, and because he always had that mentality from a young age. That's something remarkable and worth admiring if he was already at the top of the game but didn't stop because he thought he was just better and shouldn't try. I suck at explaining. English isn't my first language and some nuances may get lost in my efforts to translate it into English.
